Personality:A rather calm and quiet individual with few words often portrayed as a loner or weird given his like for solitude. As a friend he is endearing and considerate often giving good gestures. Due to his past his quit nature also makes him kind of dark much like his semblance as sugar coating truth goes against his principles of truth and justice. If he was passionate in more than a few words it would be his love for music and art which is equal to his romance in executing justice and bring truth to people’s lives knowing well at a youthful age what treachery and wrong doing had caused his people. When enraged or angered his cool demeanor can turn haughty his words become a silhouette of cunning and wistful insults also earning him the nickname “Dark Fox” as he seems to smile slyly when in this behavior. Some can say the darkness he hides with in is the shadow of doubt he casts on others to protect himself.

Overall Personality: Ash Rockford is a bit of an oddball although quiet he enjoys the company of others and watching interactions from afar nicknaming him “Creepy Rock” as he stands rather still clearly observing people. Although his name is Ash only his closest family and friends call him ash otherwise he prefers people calling him Rock which was a nickname he adopted to keep a low profile. Although quiet he tends to respond with gestures or facial expressions although he will grace the world with a few words less there are friends’ close by which he will explain in more details. When provoked he often doesn’t let himself get over emotional and cuts to the point rather than beat around the bush sooner fighting than wasting time. When angered or provoked to a degree he loses his cool he is rather merciless both in words and actions having no tolerance for injustice such as someone picking on a faunus simply because of their differing appearance or someone hurting an individual who can’t defend themselves. Rather pathetic he prefers to keep much to himself not wanting to trouble those close to him and takes upon himself a lot of responsibility and problems before asking for help or letting some one in.

Semblance: Dark Mass Synergy is his Semblance a power over darkness and possibly that of negative emotions or darkness. Though most of his clan possesses a clan Semblance he is a rare occurrence of the Kon (Dark) Mark of his people’s Aura believed to bring misery or woe to those he loves. This signified a rare occurrence of great power as mostly women are exceptional in their semblance being gifted with this dark aura is taboo in Maho clan however since many have died out due to Grimm attacks and a undisclosed incident Rock is the only one he knows who possesses it.
Dark Mass Synergy allows Rock to control spectrum of energy the can be weakly manipulated or strongly manipulated. The common use he’s discovered of his semblance is that it neither emits nor absorbs light reflecting it and keeping him of various light spectrums and electromagnetic radiations making him virtually invisible or appearing as a distortion through trained eyes. More of a Utility and simplified it grants him an Optical/Spectral camouflage from light as well at night he becomes almost untraceable visually. Though when applied outside of this passive effect he loses this camouflage creating a repulsive field of space around his aura and person causing him or his dust effects to move at an accelerated rate as if not affected by gravity resistance much like a buffer. This has also caused him trouble as falling with this activated has caused him to appear floating or slow descending often making him the butt of jokes like “Dark Fairy”.
Item 1: (Weapon) Negro Cero is a specialized combat Kukri which has assorted upgrades mostly pertaining to stealth or close quarter combat. It's Cero (Zero) form is a well specially made alloyed blade durable enough to harm Grimm and light enough to be concealed and easily manipulated with training. Design for close quarters its blade is strictly meant for the severing and slashing albeit his broad blade can be used for brutish hacking its more elegant use is swiftly dispatching enemies with its serrated blade. This is an older model from an era of war that hasn't been seen in years.
Item 2: (Armor) specially treated leather jacket and clothing emphasizing on physical durability laced with Black Dust giving and almost Grimm color. Grimm Leather jackets for some reason are rather pricey as they both supply as a fashionable and workable item. Much like a pair of jeans these leathers eventually turn an ivory black color after surviving so many battles Grimm Jacketeers Motto “So bad@$$ even and Ursa would love it.” It fundamental threading and tanning make it unique custom fit for all hunters and huntresses no one design is identical or the same except for those who custom order multiple back orders which is usually the case.
History and Sample

- Ash Rockford is the son of Vao and Klint Rockford two different people from two different worlds. Vao Rockford married Kyle Rockford prior to the end of the Faunus wars like most small villages and clans of outsiders surviving outside the kingdoms Vao came from a clan called Maho or poorly translated as witches. Their clan and family line are strongly influenced by Dust but their practices and relationships with outsiders frighten most of the civilized kingdoms. However Kyle a Huntsman had traveled with his brother beyond Vale and found themselves in the small region island of Argonaut depict due to its trade of odd cuttlefish living in its waters and the sudden Grimm population. Ash Rockford would become an orphan for ten years of his life surviving on the island alone. War had broken with the Atlesian army interested in the rituals and properties of Black Dust and the Dark magic the Maho used this lead to conflict and a near eradication of his people only a handful had survived and he had lay first witness of what Atlas general had done to his people and the Grimm.
The Maho had a strong belief that Black Dust was the embodiment of dark and negative emotions and its use should be sparse. Although it could not be explained there was a harmony with the Grimm on the island and the large deposits of Black Dust seem to attract them and kept them at bay of most villages usually surrounding large crystals and veins throughout the island. Klay had traveled and tracked a herd of Grimm that had caused the death of seven villages. Their findings of the island and villages were surprising and although outsiders their aid as Huntsmen in slaying Grimm awarded them some acceptance. It was after many years after settling down did Klay find Atlesian Army hovering over the island continent and tried to be a mediator between the two people. In a joint effort of agreement a particular Grimm known as Huia Tigra, White Tiger, was found on the island how it arrived to the island was a mystery but it had been terrorizing various populous and islanders for countless of years.
In a combined effort both the Atlesians and the Maho with the help of four Hunters, Rock’s father being one of them, were able to corner the ferocious Grimm. Impressed by the Maho use of Black Dust and their Semblance the Atlesian army then turned upon the Maho their advance technology having caught them off-guard. Rock at a tender age witness the death of his mother and their father already weakened from battle had come to their aid only to watch his wife die. Grabbing both Rock and his sister Maya Klay took what few things of his mother and clans people off the island with the aid of the three other hunters. Years passed the story was spun as the hunters having betrayed the Maho and the Atlesian Army having made his father a wanted criminal including his brother and two friends. For Rock this would make him bitter towards those of Atlas and the Schnee Company selling Black Dust. The events left his island uninhabitable and over run by Grimm.
So per his mother’s dying wish he holds no malice towards those he hates but strongly seeks justice for those wronged. His desire in Syne Academy is to improve on his Semblance abilities and excel as a hunter so he can reclaim their native home and one day bring those responsible of Atlas to justice. For now though per his father’s request and assistance Syne would be his place of upbringing till he was strong enough of man to carry him and his sister on his own leaving his father to exact their revenge for them now that they are grown up.

- Ash hadn’t always been found of the events of his life and Syne Academy wasn’t one of those fond moments. He had to care for his sister in addition care for himself but he always recall his father and uncle’s story of academy’s and the ties that bind friends through good times and bad. Quietly hands in his back pockets he walked in the all dark black leather jacket and chaps his dark tan skin only contradict his silvery white messy hair and blue eyes like the ocean. Eyes his mother adored bringing back a painful memory. Watching all the students run around reminded him how much an outcast he knew well some of these fellow huntsmen and huntresses wouldn’t know the reality of the outside world as he did.
Leaning to a tree he would remove a pack of smokes drawing the flimsy paper roll to his lips and using some of his aura lighting a black flame taking a few puffs thinking to himself. “Hmm, I wonder what this Head Mistress is like. I probably should find the visitor center and get directions where I should meet her and get to know what my classes are or however it works.”
Pushing back his hair he op in an ear bud lifting the black shades closer to his face and let the black scarf his sister made for him flap in the cold brisk wind that came in his eyes cast low spurning the sun. Those that looked at him would find themselves with a fairly tall lean muscular man obviously no stranger from working out. His all black leather ensemble actually kept him warm enough grateful he wasn’t using his semblance to disappear otherwise he freeze his butt off more in this cold weather. Grasping at the half done cigarette he walks by some sort of common area students strewn on the lawn and benches. The musician playing on his music device was singing something classic about a lover waiting till the end of time for the one she loves it reminded him how his mother use to sing for them before dinner. It hadn’t been so long since Rock prayed at their mother’s shrine but the memory lingered casting shadow into his heart.
The whimper of faunus caught his attention it was a young male faunus with deer antlers it seemed his upper classmates were picking on his appearance tossing lawn rings onto his head. Rock felt his eye twitched slightly how he hated the world and people someday and casually approached the young faunus. The faunus male was rather a meek individual wincing when he approached and breathed smoke on him. Irritated Rock watched as they continued to toss rings on the kid’s antlers before plucking one out of the air and giving it a look over.
“Hey what are you doing man? Get lost we’re playing a game here!” shouted one of them sporting some kind of blond bowl cut.
A much bigger one with a brisk brush cut sporting red hair followed suit. “Get lost if you got a problem we don’t mind picking on you instead.”
“I’m glad I thought maybe you were prejudice and didn’t discriminate equally.” Chided Rock smirking slightly as he finished the drag of his cigarette.
“Please don’t,” Asked the Faunus boy sheepishly. “They’ll only make it worst.”
“Oh? Why not stand your grounds being a pacifist won’t get you nowhere with your people. Otherwise you’ll wrongfully drag people into your problems.” With that he spat the butt of the cig into brush cuts hair grinning.
Growling the guy pointed at Rock grabbing his collar. “Or your dead pal!”
Calm and emotionless looking down at the boy Rock spoke softly. “I’m going to break them if you want to jump in do so any time. I think I’m going to use this one to shine my boots. What do you say bristle dork?”
In that moment Rock smiled he may not have liked the fact he was sent to this university but he was going to use it to learn and fix what’s wrong in the world. “All right, show time.”
