There was a loud crash in the city. A truck and it's breaks had locked up and sent the truck crashing into a diner, which had everyone around, and those being called, in all manners of distress. As the Beringel was moving about inside Finnkek Forest, it felt this massive surge in negative emotion. It was moving fast, as the crash had happened closer to the forest than the pier.

The situation before it arrived wasn't great. Due to the crash taking out the door of the diner, the denizens were stuck inside and wouldn't be able to get out before any heavy equipment would've come. The truck was completely out of commission, however it was not on fire or a danger. It was just large and unmovable until one got it out of there using suitable equipment, or a huntsman of some sort with enough strength.

There were cars backed up for miles, and the people were everywhere. That was before the Beringel came in and smashed the tank on the truck, spilling gasoline everywhere, including inside the building. This makes gasoline extremely dangerous to the people inside the building. If it's lit up, everyone inside is very likely dead.

The Beringel itself was massive, easily larger than the diner, but it was slightly slower because of it. If anyone were to come help, it'd be attempting to smash the diner. Thankfully, the Diner was made of rather durable metal outside the door. That meant that you had maybe five minutes before the denizens inside were to die. I

It's black skin was covered in plates, that skipped around and covering mainly its shoulder and elbows. It also had a sort of mask. There were plates over its chest and around it's knees on its legs. It's shape was that of a massive monkey.

Richard Lionheart

Richard Lionheart
Richard wasn't certain he had seen one of these before, if he had he was certain it wasn't this size. It made Sanazru look like a pimple, made him look like a mere monkey. Richard had been in the woods as the beast left, simply snoozing at the foot of a tree-stump, when he had been roused by the beast making it's way into the city. He'd given chase, albeit hadn't attacked the beast. He was confident in his abilities but... not that confident. He might have been able to stall it, but more likely than not he'd have ended up a pile of red and white jelly. As the beast had approached the dinner, the mangled truck in it's entranceway, Richard immediately understood the situation. Truck crashes, spike in negative emotions, increased grimm activity. It was a simple cycle, one often repeated.

Richard was finding it quite difficult to keep it cool, to show negative emotion would draw the grimm... but a single spark could set this place aflame. He feared fire, in comparable measure to the potential unnecessary death of civilians in the dinner.  He heaved a sigh, he was stood around the corner of the street the beast was currently scaling... peering to gain tactical knowledge. Taking off his hat, he grasped onto the building. Digging his claws in he began to scale, being about as tall as the dinner it wasn't too difficult and with all the panic he got relatively few strange looks. He reached behind his back, drawing out his weapon; at first it looked to be a simple black box with a handle. Pushing it the box thinned an elongated, eventually resulting in the weapon's sword form.

Long and black, with chains running along either side; a handle not dissimilar to a suit case at it's base. It was only fifty centimetres long, but he was quite a small man after all. The blade roared into life, chains grinding on either side as it warmed up. He began to rush, holding the sword behind himself as he dashed, only three rooftops away. He leapt from one, onto the next... he was approaching the last, he knew he'd have to make this quick. Lunging across the gap he would land on the rooftop and without hesitation rush toward the beast, skidding to a halt before it he allowed his arm to be thrown forward; slashing from his right in an upward and left direction; intending to tear across the beast's right eye.

Having made that attempt he would immediately jump backward, keeping his eye on the beast but creating some distance. While he was quite sure the beast would be able to reach him at this range he didn't want to be in it's immediate grasp. His position was risky, this wasn't the style of fighting he liked, but with his semblance he knew he could change up his range quite easily. He would draw back his sword and hold it across his body, ready to face whatever was oncoming... hopefully he'd buy time for others to arrive.

Sonia couldn't help but blink at the series of events that had transpired while she was out on a walk. When the truck had crashed into the diner she was close enough to see it happen and watched the whole, it was both glorious and horrifying, like a train wreck. The presence of Songbird on her back comforted her as she dashed her way to the crash site. She wouldn't stand by and watch as something terrible happened when she could do something about it.

She was just a few meters from the diner before she had to stop as a Grimm reared it's large ape head and began to make an already bad situation much worse by smashing the tank truck and endangering the people inside the diner even more. She knew that she would have to try and distract it from attacking or else it would start harming people. She reaches behind her for her lute. "HEY UGLY!" She yells out as her hands begin to strike at her strings and she starts to use her Semblance. A circle of maroon Aura starts to expand from her person, leaving colorful notes in it's wake, while she starts to sing a haunting melody.

Benedict Newman

Benedict Newman
In the middle of his walk, trying to figure out where everything was in this town, a horrifying sound erupted from in front of him, making Dr. Newman jump slightly, his claws scratching against the sidewalk.  He wasn't sure why, but he found himself running in that direction, probably letting his subconscious push him to become a hero.  Regardless of why, he found himself at the scene of the event, the culprit and some others in sight.  The closest to him seemed to be playing some music, far from his tastes as well, which annoyed the doctor greatly.  How could she be yelling and playing songs instead of doing something actually helpful?  Despite this, he couldn't be rude while speaking to stranger like this.  "Pardon me, madam, but this is hardly the time to practice any art form.  Might I recommend calling the authorities?  Perhaps even fleeing?"

After saying this, his attention gravitated towards the other person, a child by the look of it, attempting to fight the monster.  Sensing the danger towards the young man, Newman quickly ran towards him to bring him somewhere safer.  "Young sir! I urge you to get to safety! This is no place for a chi-..."  Without a word, he stopped in his tracks, realizing his mistake.  This was an adult.  Adults had a right to throw their lives away whenever they felt like it, he supposed.  He wasn't quite close enough to fear the Grimm yet, but he was close enough to see the imminent danger to whoever was in the building.

From out here, it seemed that he could do nothing, and that he would have to worry about the ape if he stood around like a fool for too long.  Deciding to take action, the doctor sprinted at the beast, gradually yet quickly turning into a thick cloud of smoke and making his way past the wreck and into the diner through whatever opening he could find.  Now... what to do here?  "Ladies! Gentleman!  Please refrain from panicking because at this moment there is a strong possibility that all of our lives could end in a fire!  Wait, no, ahem... Everyone!  You are all safe!  Are there any fire exits?  Back doors?  Rooms to hide in?"

Tamura Dawn

Tamura Dawn
Tamura got the message on her scroll about the attack, but she heard the destruction long before the message. It wasn't far off, deadly close rather. This was quite the coincidence actually, when she thought about it, she was lucky she was here right now and not somewhere else.

She pulled her face mask up over her mouth and nose as she started running. Intentionally, she took the passages through the back alleys and such to move in at a faster pace, while being less conspicuous. Eventually she rounded a corner and...

'Holy crap that's a big Grimm'

It was much bigger than her, though, that didn't say much considering that most people were bigger than her. Tamura refused to back down now. She'd fought entire packs of Beowolves before, so scaling didn't have to be very much different.

She thought so at least.....

Upon noticing the gas truck, she realized that she was out a very powerful tool. Her only dust was fire-based, and that was officially out of the question, unless they kited the creature away from the area.

That may be for the best actually, a decent plan, but it didn't look like she was alone here. When they had an opening, she'd share her plan with her comrades. For now, however...

Tamura drew her blade in a reversed grip and ran forward toward the creature, charging directly at it until she was a few meters away, give or take 5 if she had to guess. From there, she'd pivot, making use of her light frame to make herself mobile running along the side of the creature until she circled around it, staying low to the ground. From there, she lunged forth, stabbing at the creature's left ankle once and slashing at the right as she withdrew the blade with a spin. She stabbed under her arm into the right ankle again, before making use of her teleportation, leaving an afterimage of herself below the creature's feet and the real Tamura 10 meters away and putting some distance between herself and the colossus.

Nyx T. Thanatos

Nyx T. Thanatos
It had been an extremely quiet day for Nyx. She had just completed finalizing her enrollment at Syne Academy. The process took a lot longer than usual due to the fact that there weren't any paperwork of her anywhere. Despite of this, Nyx managed to complete the process in a rather smooth fashion. After finishing up that task, Nyx decided to head to Bellmuse so that she could meet with her Black Market Gunsmith contact. She was in need of some specialized .408 Cheytac SABOT rounds for her sniper rifle. As a professional sniper/assassin, Nyx always made sure to acquire any piece of equipment which would help with her ultra-long-range sniping.

It was midday as Nyx entered the outskirts of the Capital City of Bellmuse. The sun was out and the weather was pretty cool. However, Nyx never really got a chance to enjoy the weather as her extremely sharp 20/8 vision caught sight of a huge gorilla Grimm that was wrecking a building in the center of the city. It didn't take long before Nyx started taking action. Nyx quickly scanned the area for a building to set up a sniper nest. It didn't take long before she found a partially constructed building which was located near her. Nyx quickly rushed to the building and set up in the farthest and darkest corner of the 2nd or 3rd floor of the building. After laying prone, Nyx took our a pair of range-finding binoculars and looked through them. The distance between her and the gorilla Grimm is 1609.34 meters or 1 mile away. Lying next to her were two boxes of .408 Cheytac ammunition. Each box held 25 rounds each.

"The distance between me and the target is 1609.34 meters." Nyx thought quietly to herself as she opened her rifle case and took out her trusty SVLK-14S Twilight Ultra Long-Range Rifle. This rifle is Nyx's custom-built sniper rifle which was designed for accuracy and ultra-long-range sniping. Nyx then deployed the rifle's bipod before setting it down. Soon after, Nyx rested her cheek against the cheek rest of her rifle before sighting the target in the rifle's March 8-80x56mm sniper scope. Nyx then adjusted the zoom to maximum before adjusting the MOA dial on the scope by two clicks.

After doing this, Nyx began controlling her breathing before gently squeezing the match grade trigger of her sniper rifle. Soon after, Nyx activated her semblance which increased the velocity of her bullets significantly. In addition to this, her semblance also increases the damage of her bullet.

A few moments later, a loud crack resonated as a .408 Cheytac round shot out of the barrel and sped towards the target at high speeds. The bullet soon nailed the gorilla Grimm right in the forehead. After cycling the bolt, Nyx loaded another round and fired at the Grimm's eye. After a few moments, the bullet nailed the Grimm right in the left eye. Nyx then cycled the bolt once more before loading another round and firing a third round at the Grimm. This third round quickly flew and nailed the Grimm in the shoulder. After cycling the bolt and loading another round, Nyx waited for a bit before firing another bullet. Nyx needed confirmation that her bullets had an effect on the target.

The  Beringel was a simple beast. It hadn't actually noticed the small man who had followed it, but it did notice when the man hit it in it's face with some sort of weaponry, which caused it to be slightly disoriented. It would swiftly drop down to it's forearms, assuming a typical gorrila pose. This meant the sniper bullets just sort of went over it's head. It didn't actually take into consideration that there was a sniper. It noticed the being stabbing at its ankles. It knew it had a good few, but there was one being that was yelling at it? That was odd. The others were attacking it but this being wasn't fighting it.

It was strange and the  Beringel didn't like it. Ignoring the two beings that had attacked it, as they hadn't done much damage to it. It was concerned with the thing that withheld it's attack.

It'd charge forward, just a bit, and smash it's fists down in an attempt to squash Sonia, and dodged or not, the beast would then yell loudly, in an attempt to scare off some of it's opponents.

--

The civilians inside were scared when a truck broke through the door. They were immensely frightened when they heard hte monkey come and smash against the building. Worst yet, there was a dog that attempted to comfort them. Failing due to certain words being used, there was one man. He was a rather tall fellow, with a Mohawk and some really dark clothing on. He would go to stand by the dog.

"Hey! Listen to the dog! It managed to get in here when we can't get out!"

There was some calming but the situation inside still wasn't great. Nonetheless, there was a slight improvement.

Richard Lionheart

Richard Lionheart
Having landed his slash Richard was surprised that the beast dropped, he'd encountered Beowulf that could take more of a shaking. Unsurprisingly the Grimm was very much alive; seemingly ignoring Richard in favour of some peculiar, noisy, blob of pink on the ground bellow. While this was ideal, an opening has been created for Richard to tear into the beast, the sniper shots that whizzed over his head were not. A scowl manifested on Richard's face, he had flinched from his position beneath the bullets. There was a question of whether they had been intended for him or for the Gorilla... he hoped the latter but wasn't going to take it for granted. This entire situation could have been orchestrated, he had encountered such a scenario before... someone creating a crisis to draw forth Grimm.

Gathering himself he reached beneath his scarf with his left hand; drawing forth a dark green dust crystal. Grasping it in his claws, hearing a resounding crack, he whipped it from right to left and from it flew forth two round cacti; similar in size to a basket ball. Being cacti, naturally, they were coated in bright yellow thorns; capable of piercing and sticking into whatever they hit. The balls tumbled quite wildly through the air, though both were headed toward the back of the beast; it's left shoulder and lower right respectively. The crystal beginning to crumble in his grasp Richard knew he had to make use of what remained of the dust, thusly rather than attempt a third attack he threw it toward the building opposite; smashing against the wall and forming a green mesh of ivy. Something to jump to if his suspicions about the sniper were confirmed. He would keep his eyes peeled, noticing the two huntresses on the ground, he didn't want to but if one were to get squashed he would have to intervene. What a pain. Hopefully they were trained and not a couple civilians playing make believe, he really didn't want to get squashed himself.

Sonia continues to play her song as several things happened. 'Let me do my thing, it's clearly helping a bit.' She sassed mentally, annoyed that the machine thing thought that what she was doing was having no effect. Her song was slowing down the Grimm to the best of her ability. Another girl had come in and started to chip away at the big one with a flurry of blows. A moment passes and she hears a bullet plant itself somewhere else, meaning that there was another person helping out with the fight. It was a great relief for her as more people that came to fight the Grimm meant more.

Thankfully she was paying enough to realize that the large great ape-like Grimm was going for her and she manages to side leap the oncoming downward strike. She sticks her tongue out at it. "Missed me you big dummy!" She yells out, momentarily pausing her song before she continues to play. Her fingers pass by several hidden switches on her lute before striking hard at it's strings twice. With each strike, a powerful burst of wind blasts forth, in the direction of the Grimm and she uses the second burst to propel herself back, creating distance between the two. As her song continues she begins to rhythmically sway in place, her song still slowing it down.

Newman was pleased that at least somebody was listening to him, even if it was some punk.  However, his questions weren't answered, and he felt that the only solution was the obvious one, the difficult one.  "Heed this man's advice and listen.  Now, I'm certain this body of mine is quite strong, but it's most likely not enough for an entire truck!  I ask that all of you cooperate with me in my efforts to move the obstacle and free you!"  The doctor then quickly made his way to the truck, assumed a stable stance, and took a firm hold on the truck as he began to push with everything he had.

Although he wanted everybody inside to think that everything was under control, he really wasn't certain that everything would be alright here.  Sure, he would be fine in a simple gasoline fire, and he could escape easily, but he was the only one in the building with a body that could achieve this.  He listened as he pushed, hearing the conflict outside and the movements of the Grimm.  "The beast is distracted!  Now is a great opportunity to escape! Please assist me, all of you!"  He continued his work, hoping that some would provide some amount of help, and that nobody would light up a cigarette to cope with the stress.

Tamura Dawn

Tamura Dawn
Tamura turned heel very suddenly when she realized that the creature wasn't focused on her, but rather one of her allies. That was good and bad at the same time, good because Tamura was able to do her thing freely as the time being, but bad because her heart forced her to do something about the creatures focus. Adjusting her grip, she began to run back toward the creature.

One of the perks of fighting in a city environment was her ability to have steady ground and high ground simultaneously., unlike the tree branches she was used to using in her fights. This being said, she used her semblance again, this time looking skyward and running at the same time. She teleported onto the top of a buildings ledge, and used a final step afterward to spring herself forward, gaining horizontal momentum at head-level with the Beringel. She thrust her blade toward the nape of its neck as she passed by and grabbing the hair at the top of its head with her free hand.

Face to face with the behemoth, Tamura sliced at the underside of its chin as she kicked off again, now toward its hammered fists. She took and opportunistic slash as she slid past, just about beside Sonia.

Standing up from her lowered stance, she brushed one of her bangs aside. "Keep doing what you're doing and I'll do my best to keep this thing off you." Her grip re-steadied in her reversed stance as she widened her feet out and prepared to move again.

The air was clear, and easy to breathe through her face mask, yet still it reeked of gasoline. This only spurred to remind her of a problem she was having. So she shouted out to anyone close enough to hear. "Then again, I'd be doing a lot more damage if my only dust source didn't threaten to light this place up like a holiday celebration! Hint hint! We can work it out in trade later, but for now...." she trailed off thinking that she'd said most of what needed to be said.

"Looks like a fellow huntress is attacking the gorilla Grimm as well." Nyx thought quietly to herself as she watched a short ninja-looking girl stab the Grimm's head, slash its chin, and slash one of it fists. Instead of firing immediately, Nyx decided to hold her fire until her fellow huntress was out of her field of view and the Grimm stopped recoiling to from the attacks before firing. Nyx quickly aimed at the gorilla Grimm and fired a bullet at the top of its head. As the same time, Nyx activated her semblance once more which caused her bullets to shoot out of her sniper rifle at railgun velocity. It didn't take long before the bullet hit its mark. Soon after, Nyx fired another bullet at the exact same point. After cycling the bolt and loading another round, Nyx fired a round at the now exposed part of the Grimm's left shoulder. Soon after, Nyx then fired a round at the exposed part of the Grimm's right shoulder.

Soon after firing her shots, Nyx quickly grabbed her gear and made her way out of the building. One of the tenants of sniping was "Not to fire from one position for extended periods". In keeping with this, Nyx quickly set up a sniper position in a building that was slightly further back from the building she initially shot from. Soon after, Nyx looked through her sniper scope and waited for her breathing and heart rate to calm down and stabilize.

The Beringel was growing increasingly frustrated. It was getting whacked from all directions, getting poked, and it was overall just a bad situation for the large monkey. The sniper rifle bullets had gone directly into the cacti, spreading the throws everywhere. This wasn't why this situation was about to be more dangerous, though. That didn't help, but the monkey had one thing on its side.

While seemingly shrugging off each and every hit, it screamed, it's saliva going everywhere. It was tired of being poked from a range, so it grabbed the tanker and threw it at where the sniper was previously. This opened up the door to the people inside the diner, but that was hardly the problem. What was the problem came next.

The gasoline that was originally some places, was now absolutely everywhere. Those in front of the Beringel would be splashed in it, and that was the start of the hazard. It'd then smash it's arms down. The force causing a quake and causing buildings around to collapse. This meant that to get a good shot, the Sniper would have to move a lot closer to the group; the area that's just entirely covered in gasoline and people.

The smash was hard enough, that not only was it causing the buildings to collapse, anyone on the ground would be hurt from the ground cracking and jutting upward for varying places, and the vibration being strong enough that it would hurt those directly on the ground. This was only the start of it.

The Beringel looked at the buildings around it, most destroyed. It'd then go after the small one that had been slicing at it like an annoyance.

---
The pushing effort had gained supporters, before the truck had been picked up from the outside and thrown with easy. Then there was a violent shaking in the ground. The building, while sturdy, was already weakened from the previous bashing from the Beringel. The punk would put his hand up, and a sort of web would appear and hold the building together. Seemingly a construct of some sort of hardlight.

"I can hold this up for awhile, get them out. The monkey is distracted, and this is your only chance. I'm hardly a combatant, so I'll run after you get everyone out."

The people were ready to go, they just needed someone to lead them out.

what happened this post:

Richard Lionheart

Richard Lionheart
Richards eyes widened as the beast went into a rage, his immediate reaction was to step backward however he stoped himself. He was prepared to use earth dust in an attempt to reinforce the building beneath him, however some sort of glow had now encompassed it. He knew enough about semblances to assume this was the work of some ally, though he could not identify where they were. With that in mind he decided he had to get the Ape's attention, with the tanker moved people would likely be able to escape the building... but to escape they would require some kind of distraction. Richard wasn't the bulkiest of folk, he was small and rather squishy, but if there was one thing he could do... it was climb.

He drew forth an orange dust crystal and, rather than crack it in his usual manner, simply cracked it in two and held a half in both hands. What happened next did indeed hurt, a long shard of rock embedded in and grew from his palm; quickly forming a talon like sixth finger in it's centre. It was crooked and rigid, it had solidified so now he couldn't reform it without utilising more dust, but it would do nicely. He drew his remaining claws, crouched and prepared to leap. As the Bengril stopped to look around itself, seeming to take note of the destruction it had caused, Richard would leap; fingers spread and arms wide. He would attempt to latch onto the beast, the angle had not been perfect however. He had jumped from the building's far left corner in an attempt to stay out of site, but with the angles he was unsure he had completely avoided his gaze. Fortunately however he was in a city full of panicked people, thus any emotional dissonance he created must have seemed relatively minor.

If he landed in the beast, both claws would rend into it's centre back area, he would grasp into the fur with his left hand and attempt to proceed toward the head with his right; pulling the long earth spike out of it's back once before reaching up higher and attempting to stick it again. This right hand grasp would reach up toward the bottom of the right shoulder blade.

Sonia was glad to see that work was being done to put down the huge great ape Grimm, even though it was taking far too long for Sonia's liking. Several more blows came down upon the creature, more slashes and stabs that came with a flurry if blows from the dark haired girl, more sniper fire from somewhere else, and mores dust attacks from the boy with spiky dark hair. She would have to find out these people's names later after all this was done.

Suddenly the beast flew into a rage and smashed the ground, knocking her down and stopping her song for now. She watched wide eyed as she saw several buildings around the battlefield collapse from the sheer force of the blow. "Alright." She sucked in a deep breathe as she picked herself up and shook off the damage she just received. "It's time for a key change." She declared. "Hey you with the long dark hair, sorry don't know your name, just keep hitting it with your stabby stick!" She says as her hands brushed against Songbird's hidden triggers again, blasting the creature with two more bursts of Wind Dust attacks.

Then she began to sing again, the song was a bit different this time, but it was still a haunting melody focused on the creature, she was going to soon change the song to something else.

Benedict flinched as a sudden force from outside shook the diner, damaging some of the more fragile parts of his legs slightly.  He looked up, witnessing the act of bravery by the fellow that attempted to assist earlier.  "Good lad.  Right, let's vacate the area, we don't want any injuries, now do we?"  Benedict ran to the back of the diner, herding the customers out of the building to keep them safe from it's impending collapse.  As he did so, he began to think about exactly what this looked like.  He was a dog herding his 'sheep' somewhere safer.  Although it depressed him a bit, it also amused him to see how quickly he was getting used to his new form.

After getting people out of the building, he would turn his attention back to the man that assisted him twice now.  "Well, that should be the last of the civilians.  Come!  Let's both get out of harms way before this building falls to pieces, shall we?"  It was definitely time to leave.

Tamura Dawn

Tamura Dawn
Tamura was pelted and buffeted by stones and debris, being launched up by a slab of pavement that buckled and teetered upwards beneath her feet. In the instant she lost the fortune of gravity, she also was greeted by the sight of a large ape-like arm coming down.

'That's aimed at me isn't it?'

She teleported a mere 5 feet to the left the moment before she was hit. Tamura was lucky that she had her semblance, others might have not been able to dodge that one. Now she was here on the creature's arm, and had very few options. Instead of running, she ran up toward the creature's head, starting to make a plan as she ran.

'How am I supposed to fight if using my dust might set everything on fire?'

The creature's roaring actually.... might...

She kicked herself upwards off of the creature's shoulder to give herself some space.

Tamura had an idea. She could possibly get away with using her dust without endangering anyone, but only if she handled this with perfect technique. She clicked the switch in her handle, and the blade lit up from the dust chambered in the handle. She slashed forward from her reversed grip, sending a fireball directly toward the ape's open maw. Before she started falling, she hit the switch again, and the flames were gone.

She slid over the other shoulder, and stabbed deep into the shoulder, and looking at Richard, who just happened to be on the other shoulder. With the blade still embedded in the beast, she flipped the switch and ignited the blade within the Beringel, trying to scorch the flesh of the creature as much as she could. She looked at Richard again, this time speaking.

"We need to get it away from here, there are too many civilians nearby. Let's keep it's attention and move down the street to give the citizens from the diners some space at least."

She switched off the dust and dragged the blade out of the Beringel's shoulder. With nothing to hold herself up with, she slid down it's back and back onto the ground. After a few steps, she began whistling through her teeth and waving her arms around, as she backed away at a slower pace.

"Hey. This way you donkey! Don't you wanna hit be for burning you up?!?"

Nyx T. Thanatos

Nyx T. Thanatos
From Nyx's new sniping perch in one of the skyscrapers located 20 meters away from her old sniper's nest, Nyx saw two of the hunters located near the Grimm jump on its shoulder. One of them just grabbed onto the Grimm's shoulder while the other hunter jammed her weapon into the Grimm's other shoulder before igniting her weapon in an attempt to damage it. While this is happening, Nyx quickly adjusted the dials on her scope so that she took into account the fact that she was 1629.34 meters from the Grimm. Nyx then opened her duffle bag and took out a black and Crimson Red ammunition box. This black box contained the Hyper-Velocity Match Grade .408 Cheytac ammunition Nyx had been saving for situations like this. Nyx then took out four rounds and placed them next to her.

Nyx then cycled the bolt action on her rifle before sliding a the round into the chamber before closing the bolt. Soon after, Nyx then took a deep breath before placing the crosshair of her sniper scope onto the Grimm's head. Nyx waited for the Grimm to reel back from the attack from the hunter. As soon as the Grimm stopped reeling back, Nyx then focused on her target before firing her sniper rifle. As she did this, Nyx used her Aura to buff the damage of her bullet. Her first shot hit its mark after flying through the air for a few moments at extremely high speeds. Nyx then fired another shot at the Grimm's head. This round also hit its mark after flying through the air for a few seconds.

The news had spread throughout the city, and panic was spread elsewhere. The group within the area the Beringel currently stood, they were rather calm. That wasn't what the monkey wanted. What the monkey wanted was in an entirely different part of town. That meant it had no use for the being surronding it. Even the untrained people, who were running out of the diner, were of little interest to it.

It's head moved towards Richard, as the smaller one jumped. That gave it the idea that it was time to move. It didn't want to get hurt anymore than it was currently, which was rather significant. While the rest seemingly moved at nearly the same time, the monkey had started moving.

First, to dodge the flying Richard, it leaped backwards. This allowed it to dodge the smaller combatant first, which possibly putting the small being in harms way. Not that the monkey cared. The monkey would then do something that some might not expect.

It would use it's hind-leg muscles to leap towards the center of town. It wouldn't land quite center-mass, but there was far more people in danger than before. The landing had likely caused a good few casualtys, if not just from the monkey landing on them, but from the short after smashing of buildings near it. The buildings around it fell everywhere, with the rubble making a massive amount of dust around the monkey. However, it would likely not be difficult to find the monkey due to it still yelling.

It had not tried to attack any of the people attacking it, as none had particularly negative emotions.

The square itself used to be composed of quite tall buildings. Mostly made out of metal and the like, they were quite durable. However, with how the buildings were laid out, if one building went down it'd damage the others. It was laid out this way as Bellmuse wasn't actually a large island.

That's why all of the buildings were close to each other in the square. That's also why, once the Beringel started smashing the buildings, and the dust started flying, that there was rubble 10 feet high in some places, and even higher in some places.

Not to mention, there were people everywhere. Some were under the massive beasts feet, squished but not dead yet. People around it trying to run. After all this destruction, and the buildings collapsed, it'd hide behind some of the collapsed buildings. They were, as stated before, made of metal and would be impossible to shoot directly through. The rubble itself was high enough, that the Beringel was able to hide behind it as it laid low in the typical gorilla positioning.

--

As the rest of the people ran out, the man would let his hold of the building go, and run out with the metal dog. He'd give a little salute to the dog, before running off into a different direction, away from the massive beast, towards the mountains.

One could hear him say, as he left, a single phrase.

"For a dog, you're not half bad."

While he had acted as though he was tough for the people, he was actually rather terrified of dogs.

Richard Lionheart

Richard Lionheart
Meeting with the ground Richard almost fell to his knees, the thorns on his palms crumbling as he failed to make contact. This peeved him, this stupid ape was running away; causing more destruction and potentially causing more unnecessary deaths. His brow furrowed, a frown graced his face. Richard gave chase toward the city's heart, but it took four of his steps to match one of that baboon's; let alone the distance it covered in that single jump. As he ran he reduced his weapon down to it's box state before elongating it to form the chainsaw sword, he then dropped a single earth dust crystal down it's top. There was a resounding crunch, then earth began to expand up it's hollow interior, the chains stopped turning and a giant spike formed at it's end. The weapon had gone from chainsaw sword to stabbing spear.

He took up another crystal, crunching it in his claws before throwing it forth! As the dust ruptured it expanded and expanded, two brown and black earth masses spiralling through the air toward the Beringel. This was one part intentional attack, if these rocks could nock the beasts from the civilians that would be ideal, and one part feint. He was setting up for this, once he was on the beast he could really cut loose! He jumped after the rocks, following their flight pattern with his newly formed spear; aiming to jab it deep into the beast's chest and grip it's fur with his clawed left hand. If the rocks hadn't pushed it back, maybe his body and the feeling of piercing could? However attracted to fear the grimm was would be irrelevant, if he was digging holes in its chest it would have to focus him.

Sonia could only watch as the behemoth of a great ape use it's thunderous thighs to disengage from the melee and leap away from them and in the direction of the town's center. Sonia could only watched in horrified fascination as it landed, causing untold amounts of destruction, the likes of which Sonia herself had never seen. It wasn't until she tried to move that she noticed that her body had locked up, frozen in fear at what she had just witnessed.

"I'm not ready for this..." She whispered to herself as she forced herself to move, slowly stepping in the direction of the Grimm. The comfort that she had whenever holding Songbird wasn't there but she gripped her weapon tighter all the same. She slowly gave chase to the Grimm, climbing over the rubble as quickly as she could, following after the dark and spiky haired man and getting close enough to the monster.

She began to sing something different and a maroon circle slowly expanded from her. Another haunting melody but with a much higher pitch. With two quick flourishes she blasted the last of her Wind Dust at it.

Newman tried his best to take what was said to him as a compliment, saying, "Actually I... Yes. Thank you."  After this, he only caught a glimpse of the ape before he made it's escape, but he could hear the destruction it was causing in it's new area.  Frustration began to set in, as he had only just finished helping civilians, and now it seemed he would have to assist them again.  After angrily groaning, the doctor began to run in the direction of the Grimm's escape, keeping an eye out for any injured people.

Having just arrived days ago, he still had no idea of exactly where everything was, and was having a hard time figuring out the fastest way to get back to helping out.  The civilians running away were a useful indicator of if he was going in the right direction or not, and the sound was certainly useful, but it wasn't exactly the most accurate and efficient way to get around.  However he did eventually arrive, and he almost regretted it.  Plenty of injured people were either limping away or incapacitated before his own eyes, and buildings had already been ripped apart.  He could bear the sight no longer, without hesitation, he began assisting the civilians in their escape, biting down on their legs gently to pull them to safety.  "Please forgive me for any pain I might cause, but at the moment I must escort you to safety!"

Tamura Dawn

Tamura Dawn
Tamura ran for a few moments before the thud made her realize that the big ape was going the other direction entirely. She turned around and threw her arms up in a bit of a tantrum.

"Nnnnnnh. You stupid gorilla! Just sit still and do what I tell you to!" Tamura puffed her cheeks as she fumed for a moment, before growling as she ran back after the creature. Her speed was one of her strengths at least, even without using her semblance, she could catch up fairly quickly, and without being out of breath. Before she knew it, she was back at the front line again, but she could see people being hurt and in pain.

Tamura stopped when she saw some people trying to get out of the rubble. She looked, waiting as she thought of why she had stopped. How much help would she be to digging them out? She wasn't very physically strong, but even still....

"I.. I'll be back, I promise!" she shouted at the survivors as she took off after the monkey again. She had to try to stop it from hurting other people around the city before she could help the people that it had already ravaged.

Now though, the creature was behind a thick mound of rubble that she couldn't pass with her dust alone, and she doubted that she'd be able to make much of an impact if she just climbed it, especially how much time she'd spent catching up already now.

...

Another idea. She'd have to get creative with her sword's utility here. She ran up to the rubble pile, hopping from perch to perch, slowly climbing her way up until she was about halfway up. Tamura looked up above the rest of the pile, still not quite able to see the monkey, but instead she ignited her sword and swung twice up over the pile of rubble. She crouched low and waited as the flames traveled upward, before she suddenly jumped up, starting to turn and using her semblance to blink up in front of the flames.

She spun midair from her momentum, igniting her blade again and swinging at the flames she'd sent up earlier, capturing her dust with the dust in her blade. It was so hot, even though it was within her blade, she could still feel the furious inferno licking at her from its earlier motion. Then, she began to fall and follow through on her swing until she hit the ground, letting the blade clang against the concrete as the plume which built from her fall seemed to snap from her sword, lurching forward in one massive wave of heat headed right at the creature's back.

Nyx T. Thanatos

Nyx T. Thanatos
After seeing the Grimm move in the other direction, Nyx then decided to reposition once more. This time she was getting a bit closer to the Grimm. The son of a gun had been dodging her shots by getting on all fours. This was starting to tick Nyx off. From here on out, the gloves were off. Nyx was not going to hold back. It would take Nyx about ten minutes to reach her next sniping position which would be about 200 meters from the Grimm. This was pushing it in terms of how close Nyx was willing to get to the blasted Grimm. Nyx preferred headshotting the Grimm from miles away. Along the way, Nyx had to dodge all the debris that was left when the Grimm tried and utterly failed to hit her with the truck earlier. Luckily for Nyx, this debris provided her with ample cover which she could use to avoid the line-of-sight of the Grimm. Nyx quickly moved from cover to cover until she finally reached her new sniper's nest.
