Veta Hunter

Veta Hunter
At nearly noon, the large dining hall the students could eat in was crowded. No one forced anyone to eat at a specific time - after all, Syne Academy wasn't some kid's school. It was a specialized hunter's academy, but most people got hungry around this time, and Veta was no exception. She'd grabbed a tray of food happily - they were serving fish today - and was wandering around looking for a table. She couldn't find a place where the people eating weren't saving a seat or just taking up every table though, so rather than being social like she wanted to be, she sat alone at a table near the back. Oh well, at least she could eat in peace right? She shrugged, cutting into the fish with her fork and smiling happily, eyes closed as she took a bite. Fish was her favorite food, even if she liked chocolates better - being a faunus meant she didn't have the same allergy as a real cat after all.

She hadn't seen Liona today. She must be busy with classes or training. Maybe she'd gone hunting without her? Oh well. It hadn't been very long since Syne had started up properly, and she was still learning her own schedule, much less other people's. People were starting to talk about her though. As the weird faunus girl. That wasn't what she had been going for... but at least they noticed right?

Savalith

Savalith
Still new to the current environment Savalith had been wondering around the campus in order to get a better idea of what his new life will become. The dining hall was one of the first area's that Savalith visited because of his love for food and alcohol. The only problem was, he wasn't allowed to buy any alcoholic beverages due to his Student ID not being received. Since he was still new there were a few problems that occurred when he enrolled, this was one of them. Savalith himself didn't realize the importance of this for without his student ID this meant that he would be missing out on his daily drinks, something Savalith didn't think of at the time during orientation week.Regretting his past mistakes Savalith sighed as he as he looked at the bottle of sake sitting on the back just laughing at him. There was only one choice, leave the money somewhere in the cafeteria next to the employee's (So he wouldn't be considered a thief) and take the liquor.

'OI! Which one of you lot stole one of those bottle of booze at the top? Someone tell me who the bloody hell took it before they regret it!"

The voice of the cafeteria lady reached out the entire dining hall and all eyes were on her. Savalith on the other hand, was hiding the bottle of sake inside his jacket and was worried about what will happen next. He was able to take the bottle using his steel wires attached to his gauntlets without making a sound and without anybody noticing him, but for the cafeteria lady to recognize she lost one of her products so soon was a surprise. He even left an extra amount of money next to her feet so she would take more interest in that than the missing bottle, but it didn't seem to work.

"Why don't you ask that faunus girl sitting alone over there? It's a bit odd for someone to sit all the way in the back even though there's free spaces everywhere don't ya think?"

Taking advantage of the humans hate for faunus Savalith pinpointed the blame on that catgirl sitting all the way in the back. He didn't lie saying that she did it, he was just focusing everyone's attention on her so he could run away during the commotion. As the cafeteria lady started running and shouting towards the faunus all the way in the back, Savalith made his move and started to run outside the cafeteria while everyone was looking at the old lady shouting her head off.

Veta Hunter
The young Faunus was rather surprised when the cafeteria lady came running and screaming at her about her sake. Veta had never even touched a bottle of alcohol before. She jumped up, holding up her hands. She wasn't wearing anything thick or baggy enough to hide alcohol, so after a moment (and some unneeded patting down) she looked at the faunus and grunted. "Stay out of trouble." before going off to look for her troublemaker. Veta, for her part, was rather disturbed. She popped the rest of the fish in her mouth and wandered out, happening to go past Savalith. She stopped, realizing the man was there. She flattened her ears, feeling violated by the humans. "Now I know why Liona doesn't like em.." she grumbled. the feeling would pass but it didn't mean she wasn't currently mad at whomever had implicated her as the drink thief. She was probably one of the most honest people in the school, truth be told.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" she glared, her usual good mood currently completely spoiled. She'd just been patted down when she had nowhere to hide a bottle. Did he want to accuse her of something too? She had a hat in her backpack, mostly because she was too lazy to store it somewhere, and placed it on her head, covering her ears. She started to walk away from the man, still grumbling.

Savalith

Savalith
"Why are you looking at me like that?"

Savalith stood in silence drinking his bottle of stolen booze while noticing that the girl in front of him was the same girl that he pinpointed everyone's attention to in the dining hall. With some alcohol in his system Savalith was in a much better mood and gave out one loud laugh while drinking happily.

"You~ You're that girl that was sitting in the back aren't ya?~ Is it alright for a man to ask for forgiveness from ya?~ My apologies for pointing at you back there even I was the one who took this beautiful piece of artwork~ Here~ Have some with me~ Take it as a token of my apology~"

Even though Savalith wasn't drunk, he sure acted like it. He had a tendency to always be a little merry whenever he drank his alcohol. What would make him more happier however, was having someone to drink it with. To him, if you could never share a bottle with anyone else than that bottle would be become useless and taste terrible no matter what the flavor. He smiled widely and offered the bottle to the girl in hopes that she would take it and possibly become his drinking buddy.

Veta didn't exactly have the reaction Savalith was hoping for. "You stole the wine!" she realized, turning back around. She wasn't used to alcohol and hadn't realized it at first. "You're the one who humilated me and got me into trouble! Why would you do that to me?! What did I ever do to you?!" she demanded loudly. But it seemed anyone within earshot was in the loud cafeteria area, so they remained the only two in the hallway. Tears welled up in her eyes for a moment but she blinked them away. "How could someone as dishonest as you become a hunter?" she asked him, standing up straighter and crossing her arms.

Her shirt had 'love and peace' written in white lettering accross the bottom left side, which was what she more or less wanted from everyone who wasn't a grimm. It also highlighted her still slightly naive nature, always hoping for the best even when subjected to the worst. "I don't want any of your stolen drink. I'm not old enough anyway." she informed him, still glaring, her mouth twisted into a small frown. One small fang poked over her lower lip from the expression she was using, which actually made her less intimidating.

Savalith

Savalith
"You're the one who humiliated me and got me into trouble! Why would you do that to me?! What did I ever do to you?!"

Savalith scratched his head realizing that his actions had done more to the girl than he thought. This girl was almost in tears because of him. He looked at the girl with her tears swelling up while trying to think of a proper response to give the girl. He didn't want to make her anymore sad or angry as he was still in his cheery mood. In all honesty he hoped to bring the atmosphere around them a little lighter so that she would be able to forgive him.

"You've never done anything to me. Which is why I'm apologizing~ If ya do something bad to someone without a reason you apologize to them~ Ain't that how it works?~"

Savalith noticed the girl crossing her arms still mad at him while questioning his morals and ethics in regards to becoming a hunter. He had no real answer to give her and was somewhat stuck in the words he was about to release from his mouth. He resulted in taking another gulp from the bottle to calm himself down and think straight once again.

"Dishonest people shouldn't be hunters, I agree~ But I plan to go back to that old hag and tell her it was me when I finish drinking my little buddy here~ That and when I get my student ID already.... After that I'll go apologize and give the lady some more money to make up for this thing in my hand~ I'm ready to take on whatever punishment she gives me~ But the reason why I'm here instead of getting that stupid card is to apologize to you~"

Savalith laughed as the girl told him that she was too young to drink any alcohol. It wasn't really much of a reason to Savalith why someone would turn down the offer especially when they'd have to wait a few extra years in order to get their drink which they could already get from their elders.

"Don't worry about your age~ My old man let me take my first sip when I was twelve~ Look, You don't seem the the type of girl who likes to fight~ Therefore isn't it better for you to accept my apology so you can forgive and forget?~ If people never forgave each other, then this entire world would be filled with hate~ I'm pretty sure no one wants that~ Especially someone like you~ So just accept my token of apology and share a drink with me~"

Veta just stood there while the man who smelled of alcohol told her how he was apologizing because he didn't mean her any ill will, and that she should forgive him. Especially because 'people like her' should not want the world to be full of hate. She opened her mouth a time or two. Was this man really that bad at being diplomatic?

"I.. People like me?" Well, on one hand he had a point. She hated humans and faunus fighting. On the other, he was obviously using it just to escape her wrath. "I'll have you know its because of people like you people like me have a hard time being friends!" she retorted loudly "You told the lady it was my fault! I was frisked because of you! And look at me!" she gestured at herself "I don't even have anywhere I could keep the stuff! It was so humiliating!" She ripped her hat off again, her large cat ears poking up now that the hat was off. "I may be a faunus but I'm a person too just like you humans. I don't appreciate being taken advantage of, especially because I would never do the same to you!"

Savalith

Savalith
Savalith watched the girl acting out her anger towards him while displaying her faunus features to portray that she and regular humans were not all that different. He took a second to think about what had just said and started to believe that his words pierced through her sharper than any blade. He listened carefully to her retorts she was giving him.

"I'll have you know its because of people like you people like me have a hard time being friends!" "You told the lady it was my fault!........It was so humiliating!.....I don't appreciate being taken advantage of."

Savalith stopped to take random gulps from his bottle in order to give her the impression that he was being serious with her and not just taking everything as a joke. He screwed the lid back onto the bottle and took off the wide smile he had on his face while looking somewhat depressed at the situation.

"True. I did humiliate you and take advantage of you, and I apologize. And it's also true that my people gave your people a bad time which resulted in no friendship towards the other. However, blaming it all on one side sort of makes you just as bad as us doesn't it? Let's say my people apologized to yours, and that your people didn't accept the apology. Just like the situation we're in now. If that were to happen then it would result in us never having any companionship towards the other."

Savalith looked at his bottle once again as the conversation between the two became silent. In all honesty he didn't want to enter into such a gloomy mood but the atmosphere wouldn't change with the girl across him if he didn't stop being all merry towards her.

"True sometimes a simple 'sorry' isn't enough of an apology, which is why I offered you this little drink. But it seems that won't do now will it? Then hows about this~ If you have anything you need help with, just tell me~ It wouldn't feel right if I just ended it with 'I owe ya one'~"

The smell of yummy food filled the hallways as Arisa walked happily towards the dining hall where all of the students gathered to eat. Of course the academy didn’t have any set eating schedules and instead kept the dining hall open most of the day for when the students did get hungry. Fortunately for her it was the time of day where most of her fellow students ended up in the dining hall all at once for a good meal together and she was one of those students that wanted something to eat at that given moment. Having come right from her shift in the nurse’s office her outfit was rather conservative, consisting of a thigh-length purple dress that zipped up in the front, a pair of matching purple pumps and her nurse’s jacket. Stepping into the dining hall the smell of freshly fried fish hit her nose hard, causing her mouth to start watering a little bit as she smiled.

“Ah~ I’m so hungry and that smells so good~” She started heading over to the food line to pick up something to eat when she noticed something off to the side. A rather cute Faunus girl was having an argument with a man around her age about something. From her experience humans and Faunus arguing with each other never ended well and rather than remaining in line to get her food Arisa made her way over to the two.

“Hi there. I noticed you two were having a bit of an argument, I was wondering if there was anything I could do to help smooth things out?" She smiled at the two of them, giving a view of her perfect pearly white teeth as she did so.

The young faunus was about to respond to the human man when she was approached by another human. Fortunately, her intentions didn't seem to be furthering the fight, so Veta, despite tensing when she heard the voice, relaxed her body to be less tense, her ears drooping very slightly as well. "We were just discussing how if I don't forgive him for framing me I'm the bad guy." she said, crossing her arms. She would forgive him. Most likely. But That depended how things went from here.

"I am not the bad guy. I'm not my race and I would never do anything to a human. I'm just me and won't apologize for anyone else." she said simply, her ears flattening to the sides as she turned her head in a haughty 'hmph.'

She opened her eyes again after a moment. This time she focused on Arisa. Despite her slightly unhappy glare she didn't want to sound like she was blaming this poor girl too just because she was a human like him. "I'm not wrong am I?" she asked, hoping for third party input. She hadn't moved. Her body language suggested her unhappiness but she actually did seem more calm after Savalith's last little speech despite her indignant behavior.

“Hi there. I noticed you two were having a bit of an argument, I was wondering if there was anything I could do to help smooth things out?"

Out of the blue a random women with unbelievably large breasts come walking towards Savalith and the faunus girl due to their loud argument within the hall. Now that a third part came in this meant that Savlith didn't have to become so serious anymore since it'll be the new girls job to try and sort things out. He opened up his bottle again and took one huge gulp to relieve himself from the stressed out situation. He heard the faunus girls words on how she thought that she was the bad guy if she didn't accept the apology, but that didn't really bother him at all.

"Look~ I've done something bad to this girl and I just wanna apologize~ Yet I can't seem to do that without having any misunderstandings~ If you could clear things up that'll be much appreciated~"

Looking back at the girl that just arrived Savalith noticed her appealing features and tried to hide his perverted look by drinking some more sake. The girls breasts were amazingly huge and when he looked back at the faunus girl to compare the sizes, he sighed in disappointment. They seemed to be much smaller now especially after comparing the two women together.

Arisa listened to both sides of the story, starting with the Faunus girl before listening to the man. According to the Faunus the man had framed her for something and that if she didn’t forgive him for it that made her the bad guy according to him. She stated that she wasn’t the bad guy and that she wasn’t her race, meaning that she wouldn’t do anything to a human. She stood up for herself and said that she was just herself and that she wouldn’t be apologizing for anything before asking Arisa if she was right. Arisa didn’t think anything wrong of the girl for thinking the way she was, especially if she was being framed and blamed for something she hadn’t done to begin with.

The man on the other hand told a somewhat similar story that made him sound overly egotistical. He admitted that he had done bad things to the Faunus and that he indeed wanted to try and apologize for it, but he felt that he couldn’t do that without any kind of misunderstandings between the two of them. He asked Arisa if she’d be able to smooth things out for him, all the while obviously looking at her breasts and comparing them to the Faunus girl’s before he sighed a disappointing sounding sigh. She glared at him.

“First off, you’re gonna stop staring at our boobs you pervert otherwise I’m going to put you in a full-body cast. As for you miss, I think you’re perfectly in your right to refuse to apologize for what he’s done to you.” She turned her full attention to the Faunus girl, her nurse’s coat flapping a little bit as she moved. “That’s why I think he should be the one to apologize by owning up to his deeds. What was it he tried framing you for if I may ask?”

Veta Hunter

Veta Hunter
Veta hadn't even noticed the chest comparison. Even if that sort of thing had been on her mind she wouldn't have noticed it, most likely, truth be told. But when Arisa brought it up, she scowled even more, folding her arms to cover her admittedly small chest. "First you insult me then you go doing something like staring at my chest?" She sounded highly annoyed but wasn't to the level of her earlier shouting. "Please." She sounded like she was making an honest effort to calm down more despite the new development. Though somehow the word please managed to sound a bit condescending. "Don't stare at me like that. Even if I were okay with a guy doing that you've hardly earned it with your behavior."

Veta shook her head, not moving her arms she was now using as cover. "Sorry, to clear things up he's trying to apologize because he told someone I stole their alcohol, but it sounds to me like he knows he shouldn't have but that it was a means to an end. I'd be a lot more likely to accept his apology if I didn't feel like he'd do it to another faunus for more of his stupid booze."

Savalith

Savalith
" I'd be a lot more likely to accept his apology if I didn't feel like he'd do it to another faunus for more of his stupid booze."

Savalith smiled. It seemed that he finally understood why this girl was so upset. When Savalith commited that crime, he thought that he was only performing a crime against one girl, but now he realized that the girl took as a crime against her entire race and not just herself. He gulped down the last sips of his bottle and whipped his mouth with his sleeves. He was going to make his last apology and hopefully this would be the last one.

"So you say that you'd accept my apology if I promise not to do it to another faunus?~ Sorry, I don't think I can keep a promise like that~ After all, I'll commit this sin again with a human if I have to~ The fact that I put the blame on you was just convenient for me~ If there was a human girl with a reputation for stealing, I'd blame it on her. If there was a guy known for his love of booze then I'd blame it on him, if there was a girl sitting in the back looking somewhat suspicious, than I'd blame it on her~ Which in this case, happened to be you~"

Though it may be true that because of the girls faunus heritage Savalith was able to convince the people that she was the culprit, it was never really meant to be on attack on her and her brethren. He closed the empty bottle and placed it next to his side. He was sort of saddened by the fact that the drink finished so soon since it meant that he didn't have a drinking partner at his side today, but that didn't matter. After everything that they just went through, Savalith just hoped for one thing.........that nobody would notice the fact that he just let the breast scanning thing slide. Being known as a pervert is NOT a good reputation after all.

Arisa listened to the Faunus girl explain that the man had tried using her as a scapegoat for having stolen some alcohol and that to her it sounded like he knew he shouldn’t have but had just saw it as a means to an end. She went on to explain that she’d have accepted in apology, if only she didn’t feel as if he’d readily do it to another Faunus just to get more booze. Arisa understood where she was coming from completely. The man spoke up once more, this time truly angering Arisa with his words. He explained that keeping from blaming another Faunus wasn’t a promise he could keep and that he’d even readily blame another human for his own crimes. If it were a girl with a reputation for stealing or a man with a love of booze he’d throw either of them under the bus just as quickly as he threw a lone girl sitting by herself at the back of the dining hall in front of himself to hide behind his lies.

Arisa clenched her fists listening to him speak, growing even more furious with him with each example he gave. What really sent her over the top was his comment about how the Faunus girl had been sitting in the back of the dining hall by herself and that made her look suspicious and worth using as a decoy for his crimes. “You arrogant jackass!” She shouted at him just seconds before she attempted to throw a punch at his face with all of her strength behind it. She wouldn’t stand for an innocent girl being used in such a way just because of her race and how other people chose to distrust and downright hate her kind. Panting for a few minutes Arisa tried to collect herself before she turned her attention to the other girl again.

“I’m so sorry for what you’ve been put through. I promise I’ll clear things up with the lunch lady for you and see that this jerk gets the punishment her deserves for what he did to you.” She brushed a strand of hair that had fallen stray from her face and tucked it behind her ear. “Also if it wouldn’t be too much trouble, would you mind if I joined you at your table? I’d also like to treat you to another meal if you’d like, as a part of my apology.”

Veta herself listened with growing anger as the man simply waved off her emotions by basically saying he was a horrible person who would do anything to stay out of trouble. Whether he was telling the truth or simply highly intoxicated by now she neither knew nor cared. She started shaking with anger, and wanted so much to punch the guy in the nose for his arrogance and stupidity. But then the purple-haired woman did it for her. She blinked in surprise. This was the second time in her life a human had defended her from a human.

She couldn't help but grin at the display even though one or both of them might get in trouble for all of this. And her too... being involved and a faunus... "Shouldn't be mean too cute young women~" she said in a singsong voice, due entirely to her amusement (and the fact she was sometimes a little weird). "Even if they're Faunus." She shrugged, looking at the girl she now admired a bit. "I'd be happy to join you. And yeah I am still a bit hungry... my meal was a bit ruined by an unwelcome frisking." She looked back at Savalith. She simply frowned at him, rolling her eyes. She didn't bother to lecture him. He was probably too drunk to learn a lesson anyway.

As Savalith expected, things did not go out the way he planned. He was never good with words situations like this happened all the time. He even noticed the other girl clenching her fist while he was talking but it didn't seem to pass his mind that his words upset her. After his little speech had ended he received one massive punch from the girl. Normally a punch like that would of sent Savalith flying off sky high and in this case, it did just that. Unfortunately for him however, he didn't just crash into a wall or something, oh no. He happened to break straight through a window and fly outside Syne Academy. It was unknown what floor level these students were on, but one thing's for sure, it was high enough for Savalith to not make a for a while before he reached the ground.

Waking up in some unknown area Savalith's mind became blank for a second as he was trying to recall what had happened. He thought that this time his apology would be accepted, but clearly it wasn't. He covered his face with his hand to feel the pain of the punch mark all over his face. What happened just seconds ago was a blur to him as right now his mind focused on the pain.

"Goddamit. What the hell happened. If I remember correctly there were these two angry girls and.........ahhhhh forget it. Just........where the hell am I?"

Looking around aimlessly in the new environment and trying to listen to the noises to grab a better understanding of the place he was in Savalith realized that his voice had become a little lighter somewhat. This was due to his broken nose from the punch earlier on. His funny voice echoed throughout the place and all he could do was have a dumbfound look on his face while he questioned what was going on. He got up and used his regeneration semblence to heal himself while beginning to wonder around aimlessly in a place he's never seen.

Arisa shook her hand a little bit to shake the minor numbness from when she had punched the man. The Faunus girl seemed to enjoy that Arisa did that to the bastard and taunted him in a rather lovely sing-song voice. When she asked to join the girl for lunch and to even treat her to a fresh plate of food she agreed with a shrug. Paying no more mind to the man herself Arisa smiled at her new Faunus companion and turned with a flutter of her nurse’s jacket to start back towards the serving line, hoping the girl would follow suit so that she could get her food. “I’m Arisa by the way. I didn’t catch your name. Sorry about that.” Getting back in line she took a tray and started going down it, picking up what looked and smelled good to her only to place it on her tray.

When the two got to the cash-out Arisa smiled and pointed to her new companion. “I’m paying for her food too.” The lunch lady just looked at her before speaking up. “Why would you be buying lunch for a theif?” Arisa frowned at her question. “I just settled that matter ma’am. It turns out the person that pointed her out to you was the real thief and just used her as the fall-girl.” The lunch lady just looked at her for a moment before she sighed and accepted it. There were obvious perks to being the nurse’s assistant that Arisa was entitled to, such as academy staff being more willing to believe a trustworthy girl like her. Paying for their food Arisa waited for the girl to pick where they would sit before following her to their table.

As the man walked off, she noticed his broken nose healing at an accelerated rate. So this guy was talented as well as a jerk then? That was interesting. She almost felt sorry for him as upset as he seemed, but she instead returned her attention to the other girl, who had just started walking and asked her her name. She trotted to catch up , her ears facing forward, once again happy. "I'm Veta. Veta Hunter. Nice to meet you, Arisa." She told her, walking close right beside her until they got into the line.

When the lunch lady accused her of being a thief again though, the ears drooped and her face looked borderline upset until Arisa stood up for her just like she said she would. "Thanks, by the way. For everything." she generalized as they walked away from the line. She sat in a place nearby where she had been sitting before. She gave Arisa a friendly smile, perking up once again now that they were away from the lunch lady. "As bad as it sounds I'm not used to a human sticking up for me. You're the second... and I really appreciate it." she told her, taking a bite of her second batch of fish. She intended to enjoy it this time.

As Arisa and Veta sat down at the table Veta had chosen the Faunus girl thanked Arisa for what she had done. She explained that she’d only ever had one other human stick up for her and now Arisa was the second and that she really appreciated it. Arisa just smiled as Veta thanked her for such a simple thing. “It’s nothing really Veta. I grew up with a Faunus friend, we only just parted with each other when I came to the academy.” She fell silent as she remembered Urada, she missed the fox Faunus. “But anway. I’m just happy I could help a new friend. It really wasn’t fair to you, you seem like such a nice girl.”

Arisa started to eat herself as well, happy to finally have food in her considering she had yet to eat anything since waking up that morning. The academy cooks were truly brilliant in Arisa’s eyes. After all they had to be if they could make such simple fried fish taste this good.

As wary as she was around them due to her past she was rather interested in them.

"Heh, I guess I'm nice. I mean, I just try to be a good person, right? I just do what I would expect from other people. But I guess that's harder than I thought." The lunch lady still didn't like Veta. She had experience. She could tell. She was in a sensitive mood after everything, and was torn between being happy to make friends, and hurt by the other two humans she'd interacted with in the last half hour. The fact showed on her face. She seemed to brighten up when talking to Arisa, but was obviously still a bit down. The punch had been rather amusing though, and she hated violence against other intelligent beings.

Veta smiled as Arisa said that she was a nice girl, only to agree and start explaining herself to the assistant nurse. She told her that she just tried to be a good person and that she just did what she expected of other people even though that was harder than expected. Arisa just pointed her fork at Veta. “People like that asshole and the lunch lady aren’t your fault Vee. Sometimes even when you’re the best person you can be it doesn’t keep someone else from doing the same.” She waved her fork around to and fro with her words as she talked. “In the end all that matters is if you’re happy with yourself and what you’ve been able to do.”

She took another bite of her oh so delicious fish to give her friend time to absorb what she was saying. “Take me for example. I’m here attending classes and working as the nurse’s assistant so that I can keep everyone safe and healthy. That includes you. My Faunus friend back home? I helped free her when I found her pinned under a fallen tree behind my family’s house. It’s all about doing what you feel is right to you and not caring what anyone else says about it otherwise.” She cut off another portion of fish with her fork and scooped it up. “At least that’s what my moms taught me growing up.” She shoved the fish into her mouth without thinking of how that could come across to the Faunus.

Veta only nodded at Arisa's advice, giving her a small appreciative smile. She was a very outgoing girl, to the point that she often tried to become the center of attention without even meaning to try so hard. Her mood was different right now though. "You're right of course," she agreed. "My best friend doesn't like any humans. I don't want people like that giving her a better reason not to, you know?"

She hadn't missed any part of what Arisa was saying, about her faunus friend, or her nurse job or even her parents, but her expression never changed from one of appreciative happiness. "Your parents sound like wonderful people," she told her with a bigger grin. "They raised the person who became my new human friend. Actually my first real human friend I suppose. I've met other nice girls that were human since coming here, but the way you stood up to that guy... it made me really happy." Veta hoped the man would learn his lesson. If he would change his ways she'd even be friends with him, truth be told. Maybe once the alcohol wore off he'd come apologize for real.

Arisa’s words seemed to sink in as Veta agreed to what she was saying. She went on to explain to Arisa that her best friend disliked humans and that it’d be better to avoid giving her another reason. She only seemed happier when Arisa finished explaining the basics about herself and commented that her parents sounded like wonderful people. Arisa couldn’t disagree with that, she loved her mothers and though they were just wonderful in general. Veta stated that Arisa’s parents raised her first real human friend, to which Arisa’s face lit up in a bright red blush at the compliment. Veta didn’t stop there but kept going only to say that the way that Arisa stood up for her had made her really happy.

“W-well I’m glad you feel that way Veta.” She smiled at the Faunus girl after having finished her own meal, the blush still apparent on her face. “I’m happy that you think of my as your first human friend, it just means I really did make my first friend since coming to the academy.” She giggled a little bit before looking at the large clock high up on the dining hall wall. “Oh! I’m sorry but I’m going to be late for my shift in the nurse’s office if I don’t get going. I hope to see you again soon Ve! Don’t feel like a stranger and stop in to see me whenever you’d like.” Getting up from her side of the table she leaned over to give Veta a big hug before she left.

Veta nodded. Of course she'd like to visit sometime. "I can do that. I'd hate for you to be late on my account though," she admitted, also getting up to put her stuff away and go back to her last couple of classes. She had to go back and get changed first, so she walked back to her dorm. The whole way her mind was on Arisa and the other guy. She was happy to have a new friend, but couldn't help but wonder if the guy hadn't been having a bad day anyway. She had heard people said things they didn't mean while drunk, after all. Maybe if he did something to show he was sorry later they could start over. She wasn't looking for any more enemies, after all. No, she was here to learn how to fight Grimm. To really help people. It was a cause anyone could get behind, and if she was lucky, they could bond over instead of being enemies.
