Grey

Grey
Grey gave something of a small sigh of contentment as he sat down at one of the tables in the lunchroom. He'd met a few people earlier, when he was still getting setup. They seemed nice enough. Though the concept of Grimm being sighted on school property was worrying. He'd had half a mind to go out there with his own sword and shield and assist but it seemed like they had it under control for the most part.

So that left him at a loss, and as classes weren't going today, he had little to do...which prompted him to go and get something to eat. The amount of food here exceeded pretty much all of his expectations about what a lunchroom should have, and vastly beat out his village in terms of not only variety, but levels of preparedness. He was used to subsisting mostly on fresh game, fish and herbs. But the amount of strange things that he recognized were fruits and vegetables, atop of the other things made him...curious.

Including some odd, golden strips of something that he was pretty sure he recognized as cheese, but he'd not tried it before. His home village was rather...poor, and so such things didn't often find their way to his plate. After sitting for a moment, he decided to try some of this...'cheese.'

It was good. It was quite good.

"Huh," he said, openly to himself, regardless of who else might be around. "This cheese stuff is way better than I expected."

Krystal’s stomach growled. “I’m so hungry!” She complained. “I wonder if there is anything to eat.” She had missed out on breakfast since she slept in and played her violin, she sometimes even sleeps in for the whole day. She wasn’t lazy, she was just oblivious to the time. The hallways were quite empty due to a grimm that was around the school. The commotion that it had brought up had waked her up. She didn’t really care, she had other priorities to do rather than sit and watch. She still had to get used to knowing which room is which and her classes. As she walked in the lunchroom, she saw a man probably around her age.

“Hello.”She greeted him. She had decided to greet because they were probably the only people in the room and he would surely notice her. “What are you eating?” She asked to strike up a conversation as she picked up and apple. She rubbed it against her shirt and ate it.

The male wasn't exactly oblivious, but he was a little...interested in the cheese that he was eating, and as such, didn't notice the woman before she sat down near him. He blinked at her question, looking down at the half-eaten cheese wedge. "Cheese," he said with a small smile, having made sure to swallow his food first before speaking, as his mother had always insisted.

Despite his wish to continue chomping on the deliciousness that was cheese, he instead set down the orange-yellow wedge upon his plate. Cleaning off what crumbs may have been on his hand using his pants, he extended that hand toward her, the smile broadening a bit. "Grey Dawnvel," he spoke, introducing himself first, as was proper.

He wasn't sure if she were as new as he was or not. He hadn't seen her around before, but that meant very little. Instead he merely waited for her to respond as far as her name, and then he'd see where the conversation took itself. He nearly made an 'apples are nice' comment, but refrained, for now. He'd wait to judge her character before he said such...

"Nice to meet you Grey!"She said as she childishly grinned. "I should've said my name first. Well anyway, I'm Krystal. Krystal Lee!" She tightly hugged her rabbit plush. She really didn't know what to talk about since she had just met him so she was a bit nervous. She bit into her apple once again once she had finished with it, she successfully got it into the bin by throwing in it. She grinned at her shot then she suddenly remembered Grey who was sitting next to her. She cleared her throat.

"Sorry. I got caught up in the moment." She said sheepishly. She looked at the cheese in his hand. "Before you seemed very interested in that piece of cheese. Is it you're favourite food or something?" She asked quickly to come up with something to talk about. She heard some noises from outside the school building but decided to ignore it. It was probably the grimm that was, currently, on rampage.

Grey gave the girl a wide smile. "It's very nice to meet you, Krystal," he spoke, nodding in her direction. The conversation dwindled a bit, but that was...relatively normal for new meetings. People didn't know each other well, and no one wanted to accidentally hit a sore spot with the other. It was a very interesting sort of situation, to Grey. He viewed it almost like a chess game, with the woman being the one to make that first move.

And then she did, finally, asking about the cheese. He gave a small chuckle at that. "Well, it might be," he admitted. "I come from a pretty...rural area," he said, not wanting to say 'poor' to give her the wrong impression. "Most of the food I've eaten is fresh game and grown vegetables and things. I never really got to have too many things that had to be processed so...cheese is one of them."

He took another bite before giving a large grin. "It's really good though." His gaze moved to his plate for a moment, before going back to her. "What about you?"

She gave a slight awkward smile. "Let's just say that I came from an isolated area in the mountains."She said, she wasn't lying. She just left out some parts about her being kept in for training as a human weapon. "I've have eaten cheese and some gourmet food before. Though my usual meal would be an apple of a fruit and vitamins or stuff like that." Was that it weird that she had that for her daily meal? It might for people who led normal lives though.

She cleared her throat. "So what weapons do you use? I use twin chainsaws."She asked with a grin. She liked talked about things like weapons or things that she liked. She was pretty relaxed and wasn't really on edge somehow. Though usually she would just be a very awkward person, she was kept in for a long time without social contact. She would have to socialize with a lot of people since she was in a school now. She heard more noises from outside and it was a bit clearer to hear now. 'Is it getting closer? I should stay on guard.', She thought.

"Isolated out in the mountains, eh?" he asked, leaning back a bit to consider that. "There's a lot of little towns all around, so that's not that big of a deal," he said witha small shrug. "Lucky though that you've gotten more food to eat than I have," he continued with a small chuckle. At her mention of her usual fare, he scratched his jaw a bit. "Vitamins weren't things that we got to see very often, but I've heard they're really good for you. So if you wanted to..." he paused, not sure how he would mention staying thin to a woman without coming off like a jerk, "keep in shape...that would probably work well."

She turned the subject onto weapons, then, and Grey gave a small chuckle. "Nothing so crazy as all that," he stated. He moved to reach around his back, pulling off the sword and shield, the shield having two slots at top and bottom for him to insert the sword through, making it one unit. "This is pretty much all I've got. I've seen some of the other things that the students have here and mine feels a little...boring, in comparison. It works in battle, though. That I've tested more than a few times," he admitted, before he clipped them back onto his back.

A sound came from outside, and the male frowned, glancing that way. "I've been trying to avoid getting involved but I feel like it's going to draw me in at some point..."

Richard let out a yawn as he stumbled into the room, his eyes were full of sleep and his mouth was dry. He pulled out his weapon Keyll and unravelled it, within the kusarigama's tightly wrapped chains was surprisingly a baguette; packed full of crab and salad. This was the last of the fish he had caught, he hoped to go fishing again when the curfew was finally lifted. His supplies were dwindling, not only was he low on fish but his coffee hoard was dwindling. He was returning Keyll to its shortened form when he saw a pair of fellow students one of which had their weapon and shield out. He held the baguette in his left hand and kept Keyll in its shortened form in the right. While he doubted hostile intentions had been made he couldn't be too sure, he had fought enough today and was feeling lazy so that might be warping his judgment. He was pretty grouchy.

"Yo" he greeted, taking a seat across from them, "I'm Richard.".

She gave a slight laugh. "Well. The are did have a lot of towns near so I barely got to socialise with other people."She said. "They are good for you but it doesn't give you the things you need to grow."She pouts. "That's why I'm small and short." She didn't have a height complex but she just regretted not growing at average. She swung her legs back and forth, her usual personality was starting to show. Though she didn't really care. She grinned.

"I think having those are cool. It's more original, nowadays having flashy weapons are cliche."She complimented him. She nodded. "Well if the grimm comes over here, as much as I dislike it, we would have to fight it."She didn't have anything against fighting side by side with him but she just hoped that her 'other' side wouldn't show. She would be happy if it didn't show. She turned her head towards the person who came in, she grinned childishly. "Hell~o! I'm Krystal Lee!"She was more awake, therefore, her change in greetings. She narrowed her eyes as she saw the male student, in his right hand, was a weapon. She placed her hand on one of her chainsaws. "Are you friend or foe~?"She asked with a hint of her 'other' side starting to show.

Richard paused mid munch when he saw the girl reach for her weapon. While she had initially dashed the thought that the boy and her were about to fight, now he was prepared to counter both their assaults. If she was looking to pick a fight he would accept her challenge.

"Doesn't look like you're giving me much of a choice are you?" he argued, keeping his hand clasped tightly around Keyll, "You're the ones sitting about with your weapons out. Kinda gives an indication you know, like you’re about to go head to head."

He knew that not only was he outnumbered but he had noticed both his opponents were taller than him. If anything this just annoyed him more, everyone was hogging the height around here. He stretched, his back letting lose a quiet crackling. As tired as he was he felt he could take the duo, his stubborn nature stopped him from backing down from this challenge.

Krystal relaxed and removed her hand from her chainsaws. As she stood up and looked at him from her point of view, she noticed he was way shorter than her which made her feel a spark of accomplishment. Usually wouldn't see people around her age that would be shorter than her. She knew there were some people but she had never met them so she didn't feel that great about her height.

She chuckles slightly. "Sorry 'bout that. Kinda cautious with people around here since it's quite deserted here. It's only a given that I'm pretty suspicious when people just suddenly come in and there's a grimm outside there right now."She explained to him while looking down, still pretty happy about the fact she found someone shorter than her. Although she kept the same face on.

As she started to walk back, she suddenly feels a cold air rush in to the room. Her eyes dart towards the windows. It was broken. "Oh no."She says as she takes out her chainsaws but before she powers it up, she looks at the two males. "So should we just rush in and fight with our instincts and let fate do their thing or come up with a VERY strategic plan, VERY quickly." She says quickly as she darts back towards the grimm that was climbing in the room. Hopefully someone in this room was a quick thinker and a good one because she was definitely not.

Richard sighed at the girl, quickly realising she wasn't going to do much to stop this. With a yawn and a groan he slumped to his feet, leaving the sandwich on a table.

"After I do this you owe me a favour, I'll call for it at any point I feel like it, got it?" the short boy grumbled, walking toward the grimm, "Honestly, the head teacher set up a curfew, look what good it's actually doing. Less than none!"

The short boy aligned himself just right, close to the window but not too far from a table. He turned to face said table, able to hear the grimm trying to get through behind him. Heavy a sigh Richard jumped, launching his back toward the rapidly breaking window. To most it would seem like suicide but it was all part of his planned. In a split second his semblance activated, switching places with a wooden table, closely followed by him turning and running back at it. Richard jumped, kicking the table as it fell, launching the table across the room before it cracked into both the window and the wall; stuck. He had effectively blocked the grimm outside, possibly even hit and stunned it a little.

"Oi, oi. Calm down with the chainsaw... it's too noisy. Anyway, I'd recommend you head off to your dorm before more show up. I know I am, too much effort to deal with more grimm and I have no idea how long that'll hold. I'm not the strongest so probably not long."

With a yawn Richard picked up his sandwich before wandering out, toward the stairs and his messy dorm room.

Krystal rolls her eyes. "My chainsaw is not noisy at all. It has a silent mode function where it can power up without noise. Don't group it with normal chainsaws. Plus before the grimm came here, there were multiple students hunting it down. I wanted nothing to do with it." Krystal said as she was obviously hurt that Richard was grouping her chainsaws with normal ones. As she observes where the table was, she knew that it was going to come back soon.

"I don't think you should be so relaxed. It's going to come back any moment."She warns the other two as she starts to power up her chainsaws. She took a step back and got into position to charge at it any moment. Finally the grimm had broken the table and got into the room again. She had grown tired of waiting before. She dodges as the grimm charges at her and she activates her semblance, speeding up which her position now, is behind it.

She detaches her first chainsaw and throws it down, aiming at the grimm. She had given him a heavy blow although the grimm had escaped before she could give him another.
