[RAID] Get the Ghastly Geist Grimm!

There she stood, Standing next to Both the Flag of The Kingdom Of Bellmuse and The flag of Syne, Waiting for Students and Professional Hunters Alike. There had been A Geist reported to be seen somewhere within The Skylight Woods, and a message was made through the Bellmuse News Network to anyone willing to help kill it. Leena was chosen to lead the charge against this grim, and as such stood waiting for the participants now. When enough people were there, she would begin the briefing.

"Welcome Students and Hunters from Around the Island. My Name is Leena Lilac, Headmistress of Syne Academy and I am the one in charge today to make sure this expedition goes smoothly. Today we will be heading into the Skylight woods from our current location of Springwood in search of a particularly dangerous Grimm Called a Geist." Leena looked over the group and then down at a pair of papers stapled together, holding the details of the mission. "First thing's first, Though I am leading the quest, I will not be fighting today, in order to give those of you who are my students more of an educational experience. Now about the Grimm. The Geist is a possession Grimm, and will often be seen with a body made of whatever it was able to find; rocks, trees, whatever. From what we can gather, It's weak spot is the plate on its face. That said. ALL FOUR LIMBS MUST BE DOWN IN ORDER TO DAMAGE THE FACE. If you attack the limbs to the point of breaking, that limb will be rendered useless for a while, unable to protect the face. That's what we are going for. However, if you wait too long, the limbs will grow back, so make haste."  

Leena put away the papers. "Alright, does that sound good?" She lifted her battle axe into the air "Let's go give this creature a run for its lien!" With that, They were off into the forest, on a hunt for the ghostly Grimm.






OOC: WELCOME TO THE FIRST RWBYRPG RAID BOSS! This topic will use Plot post order, which means you can post whenever you want as long as you are not double posting. This topic MUST HAVE 4 PEOPLE to move on, and will not hold more than 8 players. This topic will continue if we have 4 players by March 1, 2017, or if we hit 8 players at any time. Charlotte kept quiet as the headmistress spoke out to the crowd, it was good to see her out of her office... she was almost certain this was the first time she'd caught sight of Miss Lilac since she had first arrived at the academy. Even then it had only been the briefest of glimpses, Charlotte had been starting to believe the woman had no free time whatsoever.

As Leena gave out the call to enter the forest she was sure many would enter the forest in an almost mob like rush. Aura flaring and weapons in hand. The central clearing of the forest was indeed a good starting point for the mission, students could fan out in all directions and converge upon the Grimm... however due to her body Charlotte herself found little benefit in this. In order to be effective she would have to make a direct path toward the Grimm, rather than rush in twelve different directions attempting to track and follow the largest ground of hunters.

And so she would wait here in the forest's central clearing, hands clasped she began to lightly materialize sticky webbing in her palms for immediate appliance and ears open to the sound of the Grimm moving or her fellow hunter's shouts. Geists, in their basic form, were quite loud and hardly subtle so she doubted she'd have to listen for long. If there opponent truly was was to be a geist however it was assumable that she would be more often dealing with bruises than cuts. This required a rather specific, soothing, protein but was not beyond her capabilities. Alternatively, if by some miracle she were to arrive on the battlefield earlier than most other students, she could cast her web on the geist. While it's limbs were plain floating rocks, to pin one in place and allow others to attack it safely would be incredibly useful.

Lothric once more clad in full armor and sword by his side had been watching the Headmistress and the crowd slightly behind the last line of people as while not one for the joys of solitude he was not fond of the prospect of being dragged around in a mob of people towards a powerful grimm.

Waiting in the clearing Lothric let out a silent sigh as he shook his head a few times, pondering about how to best deal with a grimm that would use rock and wood as limbs and considering the potential annoyance of it regrowing those limbs and it's primary weakness was starting to show on him as his face held a stern visage.

Noticing a familiar shape upon the clearing Lothric let out a small chuckle as he noticed Miss Monochrome was doing something with her hands and remembered the conversation on the beach some time ago about her skills.

Taking this chance at escaping solitude and the slight disturbing company of his own thoughts Lothric walked over to Charlotte before removing his helmet and bowing his frame down as he said with his calm and regal manner.

"Miss Monochrome. What a pleasant surprise to see you out here on the field of the hunt. I take it you are doing well and setting your skills to use?"

He then gave her a wide smile when raising his frame up and looking over her features, she was still as unique as ever with her entire being but oh well he at least hoped she was used to this at the point or he might just create more problems with it.

Akui was woken from a deep slumber, and she stirred ever so slightly. She may have fallen back into slumber as well, but the loud clamor of students rushing by her dorm room door and Diablo slithering up atop her head had her give out a meager yawn and slowly sit up. She stretched her upper body rubbed both eyes. When she opened them, she saw eager snake eyes staring back.

"Alright. Let's get you your breakfast." Her tone was low and seemed uncaring, but she pet her lovely pet snake with a bit of a smirk before taking him off her head and carrying him to her closet, which had also effectively become Diablo's home ever since his scuffle with her roommate.

She set him down and snapped her fingers, a drawer on her nightstand opening up after shining a brilliant pink momentarily. She then pulled out a cube made of some sort of metal and a metal glove out of the drawer, then put on the glove before tapping the cube. It opened up, and from her view, she could see the glass case that held probably ten white rats that sat in Petunia's Pet Shop. Akui reached into the cube with her gloved hand, and pulled it back out with two rats hanging by their tails. She then whipped them behind her and in Diablo's general direction.

"Dunno when I'll be back tonight, so better make it last, ya hear?" She turned to see that Diablo was almost done sucking one of the rats down, eating it tail-first like he always did. What a savage.

She then pulled the glove off and tapped the cube again, which then closed itself. She tossed both back into the drawer before grabbing a syringe and sticking herself in her usual spot, then tossing the syringe back into the drawer and shutting it with an audible click. She normally would have taken time to do her hair for roughly an hour, but she was a bit curious as to what all the clamor was about...and her hair looked pretty good anyway.

Akui then adjusted her chest-wrap to fit perfectly, slid into her baggy black pants and a t-shirt with the logo of an underground EDM musician she liked, then topped it off with a baggy black hoodie. Officially ready, she then waved goodbye to Diablo and walked out of her dorm room, although she already assumed it wouldn't be worth her while.

She was nearly tackled by some other female students, and when she ripped into them about it, they apologized and explained that Headmistress Leena Lilac was calling all those available for a special meeting. They mentioned something about a really strong Grimm as they took off, and Akui managed to raise an eyebrow at this: a really strong Grimm would likely mean a big payout for whoever took it down, and Akui was always in a spot for some extra cash, so she turned around and went back into her dorm room. She then quickly reemerged with her hoverboard and gave it a flip before jumping atop it and zoomed off towards where the other students were gathering.

She stopped in the middle of a clearing in the Skylight Woods as the crowd began to swell here and there was no way she could surf through them with making a scene. She then looked towards the center and saw the Headbitchress herself giving a speech. Akui and Leena didn't have...the best relationship, you could say: Akui was a leader being forced to submit to another leader, and Leena and herself had butted heads on a number of occasions, but uncharacteristically Akui had to give this bitch the lead due to stupid circumstances. Needless to say, Akui didn't care about most of what the c*** had to say, BUT she did have some details about this new and powerful Grimm that Akui did care a bit about.

Akui gave a chortle out when the Headbitchress said she wasn't going to fight with them. "Yeah, sure, educational purposes alright. More like you've just grown soft behind that f***ing big ass desk of yours, am I right?" Akui spouted out enough for some other students to hear, but it was unclear if the Headmistress herself could...though Akui didn't give two s***s about whether she did or not.

Finally, there were details: the Grimm's body is made up of whatever it can find, the weak point is it's face, you have to disable it to even target the face as...it would consciously attempt to defend it. That last detail caught Akui's attention: most Grimm seemed to be mindless beasts, but she did have one altercation that seemed to prove otherwise, and her opinion of the Grimm were starting to change ever so slightly.

She snapped out of her thoughts when all the students shouted with enthusiasm and took off in all directions with their weapons in tow. Akui just sighed. Clearly, they were just hoping to run smack dab into the beast, and if they did they would be...well, f***ed, honestly. Not having a plan, while she herself loved to go all guns blazing, was just simply stupid.

Akui adjusted her hoverboard to perform a boost that launched her high enough to grab a tree branch with one hand and snag her hoverboard with the other. She pulled herself up and made herself comfy with her hoverboard in her lap, her back against the tree. She then closed her eyes and began to relax, oddly enough, to the thoughts of all the reasons she hated being at Syne Academy. For Akui, brooding over things she hated somehow helped her settle down, and it added as a double plus when it came to hunting Grimm due to their nature.

Soon, she was starting to breathe deeply...

As Roy stood in the crowd he was actually happy to see the headmistress for the first time,standing next to the two flags of Syne and Bellmuse. He himself had positioned himself near he front of the  mob not wanting to be carried away by them when it was time for launch. As The Headmistress described the Grimm they were to face Roy began to ponder a Grimm that possesses objects the only vulnerable part being its face, but in order to damage the face all its limbs must be subdued. Tandem Tactics would need to be performed of they were to stand a semblance of a chance against this creature.

As Leena gave the call, as Roy had suspected the mob rushed into the forest their aura's flaring and weapons ready for battle. Roy slowly trailed behind the mob as they all rushed in different directions. Once he reached the main clearing he would jump into the trees to get a better perspective and a starting place to strike from. He looked  the central clearing to see a familiar face in the form of Charlotte Monochrome. If he remembered correctly they had met just last Saturday. He was going to jump down and greet her, but soon saw an armor clad man enter the clearing and greet her. He decided of would be better to stay in his position if the Wraith were to enter the area.

Cayn looked at the time on his scroll and panicked. It was not often for him to be late to anything if it was important, and the quelling of a large and dangerous Grimm was definitely what a Huntsman would count as important. Especially if it was important enough for the headmistress herself to arrive on scene. True to his nature, the dog tailed Faunus had overslept, having spent the entire evening sharpening his sword, and working on fixing the kinks out of someone else's. That someone who would not be using it against such a creature he had found out as they came to pick it up this morning, which was what reminded him that his alarm had been going off for quite some time.

With more fervor than he normally put forth, Cayn jogged through towards the clearing seeing the group that had appeared to take part in the slaying. Yet as he arrived he could only hear the headmistresses closing notes about giving the Grimm a good run, and then everyone was off. A few took the the sky, some trees, and some others just darted off towards the tree line. Cayn, well he was actually still trying to form a plan on how he'd find it as well. Up into the air sounded nice, but the dog Faunus just didn't have the easiest means to do that. He could have created platform after platform to leap across in the sky, but what would be the point to waste his aura before anything even started? Instead he kept his mouth shut, heavy breathing coming from his nose as he tried to catch his breath, and moved to stand near the armor clad huntsman and the arachnid lass with a wave of greeting. He could not open his mouth to speak lest him trying to catch his breath made him lose composure.

It has been reborn, came back from its past ashen remains of far beyond, rose back to haunt those who first brought it demise, its vengeance would befall on the poor souls that called themselves Huntsmen. Its wrath and bloodlust was only equal to the time it had spent before coming back in this new form, one that had lots of mysteries behind it but it felt as if everything was natural and it new all of its inner workings and it was great. This time, victory would be its, for HIS sake.

The ghostly apparition was currently roaming about the forest, feeling numerous disturbances all over the place, but made itself subtle, now wasn't the time to strike, it needed to be careful or else history was bound to repeat itself and everything would be in vain if it was the case. Hiding among trees, literally, it scanned the area, trying to find what would be an easy target to start off its revenge. After a while, it could sense a strong source of negativity coming from the woods and it felt like whoever it was, they were not among their peers. It approached them, shifting from trees to trees only to find one lonely woman with pink hair sitting against a tree on top of some branch and didn't seem to be aware of her surrounding. Maybe it was a bad idea, but the Geist sneaked up on her, possessing the same tree she was in and using it as its body while it reached for others for the rest of its limbs. Wood wasn't the best thing to use, but there wasn't anything better for now and patience wasn't the strong suit of the spectral being. The time had come anyway and this girl was in the front row heading straight up to Revenge Town.

Without losing time to actually have the element of surprise against the girl, the shadowy figure now possessing a tree unrooted itself before flopping on the ground, hoping to smash the young pink haired woman on the grassy floor while crushing her under its weight. While wood wasn't as massive as rocks, it ought to bring enough pain when slammed against at a relatively high speed. Current plan was to take down as many Huntsmen as possible one by one as having them surround the Grimm would be quite troublesome. This girl would hopefully be its first victim.

"Ah, dear Lothric. It has been quite some time, I hope you are well and it is nice to meet you to stranger." She lightly curtseyed to the two men in her usual, eight legged, style. "Yes indeed, I am indeed here to practice medicine, I felt it would be best to get some on the ground experience. This is my first time on an actual hunt after all, hopefully it's no worse than the gang fights I have been forced to wa-

Before she could continue there was the awful sound of trees being wrenched from the earth, deep roots being torn out of ancient earth. Five trees simultaneously had lifted themselves from the soil, something so bizarre had to be the geist acting. Didn't it? She backed up, attempting to keep her distance from the creature but remain close enough to heal her allies.

Despite the size of the clearing the Grimm's massive limbs would prove problematic, dodging them backward would force students to the very edge. Looking for a second to where the headmistress had once been, she was nowhere to be seen. They truly were alone out here, was she the only one to be facing this for the first time? They were combat students right? They had to be more used to this, right?!

There was a cold sweat running over her; she'd worked for hours over borderline cadavers, she'd been face to face with faunus on human violence but this was a step further. There was no diplomacy with Grimm, a creature this size; of this strength... did they really stand much of a chance? She looked around her, there were four of them in sight... Lothric and who he thought was Roy from the other day, she could have sworn she saw one more atop the tree that grimm had become a part of. Was her mind tricking her? Was that girl alright? Was there already a casualty?

She bit her lip, focusing more on producing web. Her hands parted, a long mesh having formed between them. She had to be prepared, one hundred percent, to protect herself and those around her. She couldn't afford to be afraid now, the Grimm's primary method of offence was bludgeoning. She'd dealt with lacerations and bullet wounds, open stomachs. They were child's play compared to this! Why was she feeling so scared? This geist should have been running from them! They outnumbered it, it shouldn't stand a chance!

She kept her eyes fixed on the grimm now, she would have to watch it's attacks to be able to tell who was in the most pain and who required the most healing.

Lothric gave Charlotte as she seemed to be in a good mood today, nodding his head towards the stranger before returning his gaze towards Charlotte as she began to give an explanation about the reason she was here, not that she needed one but at least she gave some information that could be helpful and she was a healer so she would be extremely helpful.

She suddenly stopped talking and Lothric immediately narrowed his eyes at the sound of entire trees being torn from the ground. Turning around he looked at the wooden body the Geist had fashioned for itself, looking back towards Charlotte he noticed that she seemed out of place and simply gave her a small smile.

Turning to face the grimm he placed the helmet onto his head and strapped it in place before adjusting his shoulder pads and gauntlets. "Wood, out of everything it went for a bunch of trees within a forest... Well at least it can't be bright." speaking in his normal tone Lothric eyed the size of the grimm and the area they where within and started to think about a few options he had.

Now of course he could just set the thing ablaze and the forest surrounding it but still it would take time for the wood to completely burn enough to easily smash it and the forest fire would be hard to deal with. There was also the fact of being hit with a tree is bad but a burning tree sounded a lot worse for some reason. Still setting the main body ablaze and avoiding setting the limbs on fire might be the best idea at the moment but all in due time, still he was wondering just how powerful this grimm was and that thought alone made him chuckle lightly.

"So I guess that this pile of firewood is our big catch of the day. Ah well at least we get the first shot at it. Even so I kinda didn't need broken bones but alas."

Looking back towards Charlotte for a few moments he once more turned his attention towards the Geist as he took a few steps forward making sure he was at least three meters away from Charlotte and drew his sword.

After drawing his weapon he pointed it at the grimm before moving his left gauntlet clad hand up towards the magnesium strip and dragged it across it for a few inches before his entire blade caught fire, moving his grip onto the handle he spun the sword in a vertical circle a few times before with the last spin he moved with it and swung the sword downwards unleashing a massive ball of fire aiming it at the main body.

The fireball soared through the air as it picked up speed and going for a straight course towards the main body of the grimm. Lothric kept his focus on the Geist as he got ready to take complete control of the fireball should it be needed, not that he suspected the thing to dodge but he wanted to avoid the limbs most of all and get that first attack on it to see how it would deal with fire considering what it had chosen as it's body.

Status/Combat:

As Roy was looking toward the front of the clearing, he quickly glanced around to see the participants of the bout soon to be.  Charlotte, A strange Armored man,  a guy out of breath ,himself, and he could of sworn he saw someone jump into the trees on the opposite side of the clearing. The one with the armor seemed to be the calmest of the group of five,and from the looks of it the most experienced. From what he remembered Charlotte was a healer so she would be crucial as the battle raged on. As he pondered to himself he suddenly spun on his is heel as he heard the sound of Tree's being torn from the earth making up the limbs and body of what he assumed to be the geist.

The geist then seemingly body slammed on the ground as one of the tree's he saw one of the other students jump to.  Realizing that staying in the trees might do more harm than good as the battle dragged on,Roy jumped down. As he landed in the clearing he took a quick glance at Charlotte as she seemed to be worrying about something before steeling herself while he was walking over to the groups position. As he approached he heard the armored one say something about trees before pondering to himself and moving a certain distance away from the group while drawing his sword.

Realizing the man had  something planned Roy stayed back and quietly waited next to Charlotte wondering how this was to be instigated. He then witnessed the man light a spark with the strip on his sword ,making the blade catch ablaze. He then made a wide swing which in turn unleashed a massive fire ball at the Grimm's central body, all the while his eyes remained completely focused upon the Massive creature.

As the blazing ball of fire approached the geist Roy let out a whistle of approval."Cool"

Akui had actually managed to doze off a bit, evident by her chest rising and falling a slightly slower and slightly more steady pace. She had started to dream, and while her visions were so blurry you would have thought she was watching them while drunk or something, she had this overall feeling of...warmth?

It wouldn't last, however.

Jostled from her slumber by the vibrations of the tree she had, up until recently, peacefully slumbered on, Akui did her best to quickly grab a hold of the situation despite being still a bit groggy: the tree she was on was moving, and she could hear other trees moving and snapping, and she recalled waiting for a super dangerous Grimm to appear...it was time to bail.

That was what her body screamed to her, but her response was a bit on the slow end, still stuck in a stretch and yawn as the tree she was on began to topple over. She apparently got the hint this time, and she grabbed her hoverboard and was about to just zoom off when the toppling tree snagged part of another, and broke the branch she was resting on. This sent her plummeting to the ground before she could board it, her body falling towards the ground as she held onto her board.

In mid decent, she managed to angle her body in a way as to plant both feet on the board, but as she prepared to travel away from the calamity a few falling branches smacked into her board and dislodged her already shaky grip from the board. She did however manage to boost her moment enough that she was propelled out from under the falling debris.

Akui sailed through the air briefly before hitting the ground and rolling for a moment, her momentum stopping her right by someone...strange. This girl was half human and half spider, definitely something you don't see everyday, but Akui turned to she what had disturbed her nap. There in it's place was a white-faced Grimm with trees for limbs and it's body. Akui stood up slowly as she studied the creature, which wasn't much good as she was still a little groggy, but all that grogginess fled her body and was quickly replaced with anger.

The tree that she had been on fell to the ground with a thundering crash, and landed with all it's weight on her hoverboard, and she heard the resounding snap the echoed with the sound of moving lumber. Akui glared at the beast before her.

"...You...you sonuvab****! That was MY board, asswipe!"

Akui unclasped her bracelets and flipped them off into the air, and the grew and changed in size and shape until they had fully become her trusted friends, Agony and Infamy. She then aimed them both at the body of the beast and opened fire. She didn't stop until both clips were empty, at which point she dropped both mags and used her semblance to pop off two new mags and fit themselves tightly, then she opened fire again at the body once again. Once those clips were empty, she charged towards the Grimm while reloading her custom glocks.

This was personal now...

Damage:

Angry Akui is angry...

Cayn heard the cracking of the trees long before he actually saw something move. But it moved quickly, at least from the distance he was at. Shouts and gunfire rang out from that location as a fireball flew across the clearing. Everything had started so fast, the blue haired faunus had no idea how best to start. So he ran. He ran towards the fighting even if he was so inexperienced compared towards everyone else. But running on the ground would only let him get so far, and was quite predictable.

With his mind running a few practical applications and remembering a few of the designs he's created. Cayn threw his hand out, conjuring an ever growing construct out of his strange glass. It was formed of three pieces. One raised the entire object into the air like a pipe, the other two hooked into one another at an angle, one side looking like a large spoon. This larger and heavier side was pointed towards the sky at an angle, and it was towards this that the glass mechanic jumped. With his aura he willed the simple machine to turn at this angle the moment his hand grabbed onto it. Tucking in his feet, Cayn swung around once, speeding up due to gravity and his own force, as well as the little start he gave the construct. The he rounded again, moving slightly faster, letting go at the apex of the climb, being flung skyward in the direction of the Gheist.

While in the air, Cayn looked down briefly at the woman going to town on the center of the creature. Yet had they not heard? The center was impregnable for now. "The limbs! Those first!" He shouted as he began to fall, not wanting this first large scale battle of his to end in his death. The faunus was not aimed correctly to land anywhere close to where he wanted, so he made a vertical pole about five inches thick so as to maybe not break it suspended in the air. With a twist as he touched it, Cayn spun and soared directly at the Gheist.

Landing just short of the massive Grimm with a tuck and roll, Cayn kept running. With his trusty falchion, he cut upwards at the closest limb, what he thought was a foot. That done he actually stepped onto the Grimm and jumped, trying to bring his sword back down onto the same spot as he fell.
