With the academy starting back up, Liona figured that it was probably time to get back into the huntress mindset. What better way to do that than to go hunt down some grimm? That was a hunter's job right? Even if she was just in training, the Kingdom appreciated anyone what was able to decrease the Grimm population. So this was the reason for her trek into the Finnek Forest. a forest filled with a bright blue color that the people of Bellmuse seemed to take pride in. Liona could see why, she had been to Forever Fall when she lived in Vale, but the blue color was much nicer than the red.

In any case, she was here to find a Grimm, not to sight see. Maybe she would even find a few of them, take them all at once. Thinking about it was exciting, her ambition to be a strong huntress driving her. What would she find?

Warren paced quietly through the forest. Well, as quietly as one could while wearing a full suit of armor anyways. He looked around, alert, while he clenched and unclenched his fists. He was on the hunt, after all. Warren was only a Hunter in training, but he swore to himself that he'd become the best Hunter the world ever knew. Being proactive in his work seemed like a good way to put his best foot forward.

He was far from home though, and while he had been in Bellmuse for a while now, he still felt unfamiliar with it. The forest around him was tinted blue, and while it was a beautiful effect, it was just ever so slightly unsettling to Warren. The sound of footsteps shook him from his thoughts, and he looked up. Someone was wandering this forest too. A Faunus, judging by the ears atop her head. What was she doing here? Surely she knew this part of the forest was dangerous, what with the city having requested aid in clearing the area of Grimm. He took a few cautious steps towards the girl, calling out as well. "Hey! You there! Are you lost?"

DEATHSTALKER

As one would expect for something as big as a Deathstalker, It was somewhat hard to get around a dense forest like Finnek. Even besides that, The blue colors made the black and red creatures of grimm stick out like a sore thumb if they weren't careful. This was the reason that this particular monster preferred to stay in a cave, where is was dark and peaceful. Of course, at the same time, it had to go eat at some point. It could not just sit there forever.

It stalked out of its cave, trying not to knock down any branches, and this staying in clearings. Its tail was alert, and he was ready to attack....If he found anything. So far, all it saw was the blue colors of the leaves and the brown of the bark. It was ridiculous. There had to be something appetizing for it, right?

Liona continued her search, But it was taking some time to find anything. Wasn't there an over population of Grimm? After all, that's what Syne was built for in the first place. Then again, Finnek was the largest forest in Bellmuse. It would take some time to find anything. And so she continued, not satisfied until she found at least ONE Grimm to take down. Suddenly, She heard an unfamiliar voice behind here, asking if she was lost. The blonde faunus turned, wanting to place a face with the voice. Unfortunately, she was not pleased with what she saw. "Lost? Dangerous? What, You don't think I can handle myself? You think that just because You're human you have--" She paused her massive jump to conclusions when she saw something in the distance. Looking through the trees toward a nearby clearing, she saw a large dark figure looming about. It was so big, it had to be some sort of Grimm right? She ignored the human boy and ran off toward the beast, clawed gauntlets unsheathed.

Warren was taken aback by the girl's response to him, and he blinked back uncomprehendingly at her reaction. Not that she could see it from underneath his helmet, anyways. "Wait, what? What does being human have to do with- Hey! Where are you going!?" Warren stared as the girl suddenly dash off, halting mid sentence, deeper into the forest past him. He peered down the forest, looking past where she was running, and asked himself, "What is her issue?"

Warren sighed and shook his head, but his attention was piqued when he noticed the dark figure the faunus girl seemed to be running at. He felt a chill run down his spine. While he couldn't see it clearly from this distance and with all the trees blocking his way, he could still the the silhouette of a large, curved, stinger. "That's a Deathstalker..." he whispered to himself.

His head snapped back to the faunus girl, and just as he was about to shout a warning, he saw the blades slip out from the gauntlets in her hands. "Wait a minute... Is she a Hunter!?" Warren was stunned for a moment as he stood there baffled, but he quickly shook himself out of it. There was no time for that. He began running forward as well, cursing quietly to himself. A Deathstalker was no laughing matter. He closed his eyes, grit his teeth, and focused, tapping into his Aura, willing the light around him to bend, blending him in and erasing him from sight. It took a lot out of him, but the benefit of a surprise was an option he couldn't pass up.

Deathstalker

Deathstalker
The Deathstalker so far saw absolutely nothing, which was highly disappointing. It was about to turn back, look in another location, but That's when it heard some rustling next to it. It turned around to see one of those humanoid creatures, a girl with long blonde hair, rushing straight for it. Where we go, This was something to celebrate. The Deathstalker would remember this for next time. If it needs food, it would just have to wait until it eventually came to him. Clearly, this was the way things were gonna work. The girl continued running to it, and when she got close enough, It would whack her with the side of its stinger. With the creature down, it would be easy to make its way over to her and stab her with the stinger, giving the Grimm a nice meal. The perfect plan, and by now she was close enough to execute it.

Liona ran, no longer caring about the armored man that she had left behind. She maneuvered her way around branches and trees, going as fast as she could. This, however turned out to be a bad thing, as apparently she was heard. When she eventually reached the Deathstalker, she jumped up to attack it but got hit by the stinger instead, knocked to the ground, hard. It hurt massively, but she kept moving even as she landed, rolling until she could smoothly get up. This thing hit HARD. All the more reason not to stop no matter what.

She was out of the way just in time to miss getting stung, and while the Deathstalker recovered from the failed attempt at an attack, Liona herself moved toward the Creature of Grimm, diagonally so she could get to its side. Most of the creature's body was armored, which posed a problem since Liona's claws were not that powerful, but she had an idea anyway. She would run along the side of the monster, all the while slicing the three legs on that side. This would not sever anything, but it would at least be somewhat crippling. afterwards, Liona would try to gain some distance, to see what the scorpion would do next.

Warren grimaced inwardly. The girl was faster than him, that was for sure. There was no way he'd beat her to the Deathstalker. She should've seen by now what it was that she was facing down, and yet she continued her foolhardy charge. Surely if she was a Hunter, or a Hunter in training judging by her apparent age, she should've known what a Deathstalker meant. She was either brave, stupid, or both. Warren questioned what that made him, considering he was charging in right after her.

He winced as he saw the girl take a slam from the Deathstalker's stinger. That looked like it hurt. The only condolence that Warren could think of was the fact that she wasn't actually stung as the girl evaded a second attack. Warren reached the fight as the girl began a counterattack, striking for the legs. The Grimm would likely turn and try to fight the Faunus girl head on, Warren guessed to himself. He had to get its attention.

Warren shimmered back into sight close to the Deathstalker's face. His fist was clenched tight, a ball of light clutched within. The light glowed blindingly luminescent, bathing his fist in bright white light. Warren lashed out with his fist and with a roar, aiming straight for the center of of the Deathstalker's eye cluster, aiming to both blind and hurt it.

Deathstalker
Success! The deathstalker was able to push away the blonde gril just like it had planned to do, so now it just had to execute the rest of the maneuver. /however, That did not go over so well because the Girl kept moving. Instead, The Grimm got it's tail stuck in the ground. When it finally recovered, It did not have the time to turn and face the cat lady before it felt a horrible sudden pain run through it's leg, then its next leg, and then a third, all on one side. It fell on those legs, now only standing sideways on its left legs. What's more, a sudden guy in a shiny get up appeared and punched it in one of the eyes! Not only was it crippled, but it could only see out of seven eyes, which was very disorienting to a creature used to eight. The Grimm Started to thrash around, Trying to scoot away and beck to its cave. Unfortunately, It was going very very slowly and painfully. Still, it could do nothing but swing its stinger wildly and hope it could get away.

Liona was admittedly surprised when the armored human came out of LITERALLY NOWHERE to punch the grimm in the face with a flash of light. It was interesting for sure, Liona wondering what had happened. In any case the giant Deathstalker was still there to deal with. Liona pulled out a crystal of her fire dust, tossing it up in the air and slashing at it with her claws. normally she would just slam it to the ground, but the forest floor was too soft for that to work. The crystal broke, releasing the power of the dusty fire in the form of a life sized lioness, an animal that sprinted toward the panicked creature of darkness as it thrashed about. the dust would reach its face and pounce at it, causing the monstrous scorpion to burn. This was Liona's special move, one she had practiced all the time when she still lived in vale. The shape still wasn't perfect, but it was pretty damn close.

As Warren's fist struck the Deathstalker's face, he forced the light within his fist to flash, hoping to blind the Deathstalker further, covering his own eyes with his free hand in order to protect himself from the bright light he was creating. Sadly for him, this prevented Warren from seeing the Deathstalker thrash around, and he was caught by a blow from its tail, sending him tumbling across the ground with a grunt. Warren recovered, flipping onto onto one knee, his hands digging into the dirt of the forest as he tried to slow himself. He looked up to see the Faunus girl letting loose with a blast of Red Dust, shaping it into a lion and letting charge into the Deathstalker as it tried to retreat. Warren got up to his feet and rushed after it once more, unwilling to let it get away now that they had the upper hand, tapping into the Red Dust stored within his armor, using it to super heat the gauntlet of his armor, which began to glow red and hissed as it burnt the dirt that was caught on his fingers. Warren reached out with both hands, attempting to grab a leg and pull, hoping to slow it down.

Deathstalker

Deathstalker
The Deathstalker ran as fast as it could, though with half of his legs injured and missing the use of one eye, it was not very fast at all. It did hit the armored guy though, in its panicked motions of the stinger. So at least it had that going for it. The giant scorpion still had to get away. Unfortunately, it was too severely crippled to go any where before those hunters struck again. And indeed they struck again, the blonde one releasing some sort of dusty beast that charged right for the poor Grimm. Once again, the monster tried to get out of the way, but it felt an intense heat upon what was once one of its only three good legs left. It squealed, and only a moment later the dusty feline pounced, assaulting the Deathstalker with fire. With nothing else it could do, it simply continued to thrash around and hope it hit something.

The Deathstalker had all but given up at this point. It was no match for the Glass Lion. ...And the human too, she supposed. He did help A LITTLE. Not that she needed the help or asked for it in the first place. Of course, they weren't quite done yet. The Grimm was still flailing around hopelessly, not even moving for its spot anymore. It was actually pretty pathetic. Here they had a giant scorpion monster of darkness, and it had been reduced to just sitting in place, moving its stinger around wildly in an attempt to delay the inevitable.

Liona ran, speeding toward the beast, looking for some sort of pattern or predictability in the movements of the stinger. She reached it as it was coming toward her, and she leaped up to grab it. She was pulled into the air and let go when the tail reached a peak. She would be thrown up into the air maybe 2 or so meters above the deathstalker. She dove down, claws at the ready, and planned to land on the back of the Grimm, stabbing it with both of her gauntlets in the process.

Warren grit his teeth as he pulled on the Deathstalker's leg, digging his feet into the ground as played tug-of-war with its limb. It continued to flail, attempting to strike at him, and Warren narrowly dodged another one of the Grimm's legs attempting to knock him off. Warren's dodge, however, ruined his stance, and suddenly found himself being lifted into the air by the leg he was holding on to. He tried to maintain his grip, but was soon thrown off and he found himself rolling across the dirt and leaves once more, though he was largely unharmed.

He got back up to his feet, watching the faunus girl leap atop the stinger and ride it skyward. Well, at least she had a better time with flying than he did. Warren turned his attention back towards the Deathstalker, and he rushed at it again, heading straight for its face as he dived underneath its flailing claws. He sprung back up to his feet and leapt, hoping to plant his fist into the Deathstalker's eye, and hopefully drive it through it, and into what he hoped was the brain of the creature.

Deathstalker

Deathstalker
The beast Flailed as much as it could, as it was literally all it could do. The Armored hunter was still holding onto its leg, and now the cat eared one had grabbed onto its tail. It had to shake them off. After a bit of desperate thrashing, it was finally able to throw off BOTH of the hunters attacking it. However, That was all for naught as it felt a huge pain at its back as the blonde girl landed, stabbing it in two different places. What was more, the armored one appeared right afterwards, Punching the scorpion beast with such force that caused it to shriek once more in pain before it perished. The deathstalker was officially destroyed at the hands of a couple of hunters-in-training, after giving quite a weak performance. It had not been able to do much at all besides panic and flail in a failed attempt to get away. It would from now on be a bother to no one.

Liona slid off of the monster's back, now that it had finally given up and died. It took longer what she had expected to subdue it, and unfortunately that was with help. She dusted herself off and turned to the armored man. "I didn't ask for your help, you know. Did you think so badly that I needed it?" She huffed and folded her claws back into her gauntlets. She would not be surprised at all if that really was his thinking, though she doubted he would admit it. Typical of humans, always pretending they're the chivalrous ones, putting their nose where It didn't belong. "Well I didn't. Try not to butt into other people's business next time." And with that, she spun around with a flip of her long, blonde hair and stalked off, whether he tried to explain himself or not. She wasn't interested in any excuse he could come up with.

Warren wrenched his fist out of the Deathstalker's eye with a grunt, shaking off the pieces of Deathstalker off of his hand. He turned to face the girl he had just fought beside, expecting perhaps a 'Who are you?', or maybe even a 'Thank you!' if luck decided that this was going to be a good day for him. Instead of any of that, however, Warren was greeted with an angry tirade from the girl, and he simply blinked back in surprise for a moment before he had gathered his wits enough to make a retort.

"What the hell? I watched you run off towards a Deathstalker! Do you have any idea how dangerous those things are? You could have di- Hey! Don't you walk away from me!" Warren shook his fist at the faunus girl as he walked off, giving an angry sigh as he watched her go. No point in chasing after her, he thought to himself. She obviously had some sort of chip on her shoulder. Warren rolled his eyes and walked off in the opposite direction, not caring that it was the wrong way back to town. He was willing to make a detour, just as long as he didn't need to come in contact with her again.
