Physical Education! (Class/Closed)

Esoric stood at his full height. It was an hour and a half earlier, and he had decided to run the bit that the students would have to run before they got here. He had his hoodie on, over his normal white shirt. He wore his normal baggy jeans, and his white sneakers. He was dressed casually, he had seen no reason to dress up. He got to one corner of the gym, and got into starting position. He counted down silently to himself, and then started the run. He ran around the gym eight times before stopping, a very slight sweat breaking out. It had taken him, at a slower run, ten minutes to do it. It was still an hour and twenty minutes before the class.

He took off his hoodie and threw it into the closet of the gymnasium. He did a stretches for about forty minutes, and then ran for forty minutes. He'd be running by the time the students would arrive. He had a few thoughts for introductions, but he'd refuse to tell them anything more then his name. You'd have to out athlete him to get info, and he didn't know many who could.

This was a bad idea and Kairi knew it! She wasn't in the best shape of her life, but at the same time she wasn't anywhere close to being out of if either. She was what she likes to call a happy middle. Where she still could do her Huntress training asked of her and still have all the snacks she wanted. Still, she could better than she was doing now. First off, she would have to start with stoping with her habit of using her semblance for just about everything in life. She thought about this even now as she floated toward the gym for her first class there. "They're going to make me walk. I know it" She grumbles as she reached the door and open it up.

It would seem she was the first to arrive as the only other person in the gym was an older man running laps. She could only guess that this would be the teacher as she watch him do his warm up. She herself was already dressed in her gym clothes. Being a sleeveless Syne Academy shirt along with a pair of black short and her running shoes. A choice she didn't really care for as show this much skin offend lead to other believing she a haunting ghost of all things with her purplish pale skin and long black hair. While waiting for others Kairi would begin her own warm up of stretches while floating in the air after tying her hair back into a ponytail.

Gricelda arrived to the gymnasium at a brisk pace. On this day seemed to have settled for a dark grey T-shirt and black gym shorts. Under her T-shirt conceals the white sports bra that she wears underneath to limit the interference of her breast during any exercising... not that her her modest bust usually caused her that much problems when engaged in physical activities. Regardless, Gris enters and sees her familar... acquaintance Kairi along with a man in hoodie running laps around the gym who she could only assume to be the teacher. If it was the teacher, it was nice to see that he was one of those active kind of PE teacher who didn't just go around barking orders as they sit in a lounge chair. Gris naturally walks up to Kairi since she was the only person she recognized. Gris was kinda surprised to see them sharing several classes together, specifically this class since Kairi never struck for the kind of gal who would enjoy PE. Glad to see that she was mistaken!

"Well... I was not expecting to see you here but... its nice to here regardless." states Gris, giving a wry smile as she watches Kairi doing her stretches in the air. Gris places her hands on her hips and her smile turns more into a smirk. Her eyes then leer over to the their PE teacher... curious about him as he continues to run.

Hyght sighed, "No. It's not that I want to leave you but I have to." Silence hung thickly in the air for a moment. "Yes, I have been spending a lot of time form you but honestly this is better for me. Not that you aren't good for me but if I can fight but can't run away from something without stopping shortly after then all my training has been for nothing. You understand that right?" More silence. "I know you don't like it and frankly, neither do I. But I need to do this. Thank you for understanding." Hyght turned his face from his pillow and stared at his alarm clock. He nodded and slipped from his bed. "I'll be back soon, baby." He said to the bed and gave it a light pat as he straightened the covers.

Hyght took notice of his roommates' absence and remembered they were all off doing their own thing. He had three classes today but the first hurdle was Physical Education, an old enemy of Hyght's. The portly baker took his time to get ready and pulled his Syne Academy PE clothes on, followed by a pair of sweats over the shorts. Hyght didn't really like how high up on his legs the shorts came and preferred to not show off his knees. Especially with all the combat training he's been putting himself through. Once his clothes were on and he had brushed his teeth he stepped out, remembering to check his key before he left.

Hyght arrived at the gymnasium ten minutes before class started but took time to do some stretching and warm up as well as he could before going in. He was the most noticeably out of shape person there and his recently discovered insecurity of his fitness level made him want to prep a bit before the class started. By the time Hyght joined the rest of the class he already had a bit of perspiration on his face and shirt and noticed everyone doing their own stretches except for one person, a lean looking man with an unkempt mop of brown hair. He ran with the well oiled grace of a experienced runner. Hyght took note of that and the amount of sweat on his shirt and that the shirt wasn't an academy PE shirt. "The teacher?" Hyght asked a near by student who shrugged but nodded in affirmation. "Though I guess they're coaches if it's PE." He added absently to himself.

Out of the corner of his eye he noticed a flicker of grey fur. Hyght turned his head and saw that Gricelda, his roommate, and possibly the only person he knew of presently that disliked him. That wasn't to say there weren't others but Gricelda had been pretty open about her disdain for him being human. She stood by the same girl he had seen defending the Ram faunus girl some weeks ago in the training grounds. While he never really introduced himself to her, or her to him, he remembered she had called herself Kairi. Kairi was a slim framed girl with long raven black hair and Hyght could remember all too well how powerful the swing of her axe was. A phantom ache in his right arm recalled the memory of his shield taking a glancing blow from monstrous attack.

The two girls looked to be in the midst of a conversation so Hyght opted to hit the track in an effort to warm himself up more thoroughly.

Physical education… what did that entail exactly? Chloe had been standing beside her bed looking at her armor and her school uniform in her PJs. She discarded the school uniform; it was obviously not made to run into. Her combat equipment was probably the best choice but it was heavy… Oh well, that way she wouldn’t need to find a cap or something to replace her helmet. Taking her equipment, she went to the small adjoining room to change behind a locked door, Hyght still being in bed in the room. Once ready, she grabbed her spear, mostly by habit, and made her way to the gym.

Once inside, she saw the teacher run around the place. She didn’t pay too much attention to him since she saw her roommates stretching. Apparently Hyght got there before her in the end since she made a stop by the cafeteria to grab a bit of food and a bottle of water. She realised she brought her spear but she probably wouldn’t need it, so she placed it in a corner of the room and walked to Gricelda and a … floating girl?

That made Chloe stop mid step. This girl was flying around as if it was as easy as breathing to her! How… LUCKY!!! It was a very poorly kept secret of hers that she dreamt of being able to fly using her semblance. She was a bird faunus and she guessed some of her animal side was craving for the feeling of the wind blowing by as she’d fly faster and faster. Right now, the most she can do is create a strong wind in her face, but her feet stubbornly stays on the ground. Finishing her steps, she walked to the duo.

“Heya Gris!... Who 's ya friend?” It was plainly visible in her face that she was much more interested in Kairi at the moment than her roommate, even if she was happy to see here there. At the moment, her expression was a weird mixture of envy and admiration, making her look like she was nervous or something. Looking at the pale skinned girl stretching in the air, she couldn't deny that she was slightly jealous. Still, she really just thought this girl was super lucky and was very interested in knowing how her semblance worked. Maybe some of it could apply to her? But it didn't look like she used any medium to fly, like the wind or something else. Still, she didn’t want to be rude or anything so she still smiled and tried to look friendly and all.

Esoric took note when the two girls walked in, glancing over seeing a pale fanus-looking woman. He looked into himself to try to remember the research he did. That was...Kairi Crowley. Vampire Bat fanus, which explained her pale pigment. She looked over to her... what looked like friend on the next lap. Gricelda Mee, Wolf fanus and general mystery to him. Or at least, he kept it that way. She seemed spirited type. Kind of reminded him of Aurelio, which was a good thing. Competitive and fanus, always interesting.

A bigger fellow inserted himself into the room. He had to assume this fellow was Hyght. Student and... what he could find, Baker. Not the warrior type, but this class wasn't about fighting. This class was about getting in shape, or if you were already in shape, he'd keep you in shape. That was the goal of the class, but also to see just how fit these fellas were. Not that he really cared at the moment, he'd find out soon.

He noticed a girl in armour enter the room. The armour, from his rough estimations, looked heavy, and that spear also seemed heavy. This girl seemed like the strong type, the warrior type. That... must be Chloe Erinys. All of those students were far more notable then the rest of the people who sat down. Hyght had inserted himself into the track and started running, so after running ahead of the boy and catching up, he held pace with him.

"Hey, buddy. How you doing? I hope well enough, because I'm afraid you're going to be sore after the end of this class." After laying that bit, he'd still keep pace with the bigger guy. He was interested in all of them, mainly because they showed a different... type of character than the others. It was clear that this Kairi woman didn't really want to be here. Hyght seemed to be ready enough, considering everything. This Chloe woman seemed to be ogling Kairi, which he hoped was because she was floating.

After Hyght would answer his question, if he would, he'd determine that to be the time to yell out to the crowd.

"Ten laps around the gym for a start. Just the warm up, and don't worry. I'm doing them as well."

While spinning in place while stretching Kairi didn't see her wolf friend enter, but her ears had picked up on the sound of footstep coming toward her. Quickly spinning around, turning upside down as she did so she greeted her fellow fanus with a fang smile. However, at Gric words she would frown before putting on a dramatic play for the wolf. "Not that I really want to be here. I hate walking and running stuff, but they said I gotten lazy and needed this class." She would have stacked it on more by maybe clinging to the girl, but didn't want to make too big of a scene on the first day.

Not long after Gric entrance another would enter, this time a larger one. It wouldn't have been hard for her to recognize this one out masses given Hyght heights and well the boy just had a way of standing out among all the fighters of the school. Spinning back up right Kairi would swing an arm in the air as she waved at the boy. "Heeeey Hyght!" She called friendly toward him. There were no real meaning behind it other than she just the friendly type. Also, she felt a little back about the spar a few days past where she got a little too into it when hitting him with her battle ax.

Among the last of the student coming it there seemed to be one more that was particular interest in Kairi. She herself didn't noticed this till after she greeted Gric. Wanting to give the two room to greet and talk she wanted to float away abit, but the girl quickly asked who she was. It wasn't impolite in anyway, just a simple question. However, Kairi got the feeling there was more that the girl wanted to ask her then just her name from the look in her eyes. Maybe she knew she was and was a fan? Either way Kairi just greeted her with a smile all the same. "Yoooo, I'm Kairi. Nice to meet'ch!" She said, but before she could really say more she heard the running man finally spoke.

Seemed class had started at last, much to Kairi detest. "Well, guess introduction will have to wait!" She said suddenly dropping to the ground quickly jogging away onto the track. "Better hurry Slowpoke!" Making sure to beam a teasing grin back toward Gricelda. Despite the fact Kairi almost never walked or run outside of combat that didn't mean she was out of shape. She just didn't like it. So in a matter of seconds she soon caught up with Hyght matching his pace. "Feeling the burn yet?" She asked playfully.

Gricelda nods her head at Kairi, her eyes still fixated on the professor but its clear that her hears where focus on the faunus in front of her judging from how her ears point in Kairi's direction.  Gricelda observed her human roommate Hyght adding himself onto the track and getting a head start on some running laps its seems.  While Hyght was clearly not the among the fastest of individuals, Gris couldn't help but admired his initiative.  Gris reaffirms her complete attention to Kairi, to whom she sneers at her bit at her own admittance for not wanting to be here.  Gris cocks her head as she greets Hyght off at the distance, surprised the the two of them seemingly know each other.  Sure the three of them sure classes with each other but it never occurred that Kairi knew Hyght on a first name basis.  

"You... two know each other?" quizzically asks the wolf faunus before adding "Thats surprising..."

Gris shakes her head slightly, the proceeds to give Kairi a cheeky rebuttal to her eariler response.

"But I would have to agree with whoever thought it best to place you in this class.  You can't just float around as long as you desire since your aura has limited reserves  So you better start learning and using those leg muscles you were born with.  The last I want to hear is you being a victim of your own slothfulness."

As Gris finishes her statement, her head jerks to look at Chloe who asks her about her... friend?  Why just... happen to know each other and nothing more... right?  Gricelda suddenly becomes flustered as she seemingly struggles to to spit out a statement.

"Huh?  Friends?  Oh... we- we are just-"

Kairi thankfully answers Chloe question for her, which stopped Gris from blurting out that they were not friends.  In truth... Gris wasn't sure were Kairi fitted on her relationship scheme but at the present Gris didn't consider her to be friend.

"Err... yeah... her name is Kairi.  Kairi Crowely." mummers the Gris.

Gris noticed that Chole seemed... transfixed onto Kairi but didn't think too much about it.  Her head once again spins to face the professor who announced to the class that they are to run 10 laps around the school, which sounded perfect to her!  Kairi seemed to have taken off, mockingly teasing her as she jobs at a brisk pace.  Gris grins mischeviously as she bolts after Kairi.  It didn't take long for Gris to catch up with her.  She wears a smug smile as she speaks to Kairi in a mockingly polite tone.

"Slowpoke?  Hardly.  But its good to see that you CAN use those legs of yours~  So keep up the good pace while I go on at my own."

With that, Gris picks up her speed and runs ahead of Kairi.  With now Kairi long behind her, she mind was transfixed entirely on running.  While some here probably of the activity as tiring, she personally viewed it as euphoria.  After all, she runs around the Academy for fun!  10 laps where nothing to her.  Nevertheless she made sure to pace herself, no need to expend all of one's energy as experience tells that keep that extra bit energy in reserve for when it mattered most.

Hyght hadn't made it two laps before his his chest grew tight. He felt as though he wanted to stop already but slowed his pace just enough to ease the tightness. Hyght had done some reading on running in preparation for the time he'd have to run longer. He had gone on short jogs and walks to get himself used to running for longer periods of time. While he wished he could read and magically have all the skill and stamina he needed to run long distances. However, the real world liked to make you suffer for the skills you wish to have.

As Hyght passed the marker he counted the start of his third lap and heard someone speak beside him. He wasn't sure when he got there but with how heavily Hyght was breathing he could have barreled in and he still might not have noticed. "Sore is something I've been getting used to, sir." His words spaced lengthily between his laborious gasps. The Coach called to the other students and issued his order for them to begin with a warm up of ten laps. Hyght shot a panicked expression to the apparent sadist and tried to form word to his unresponsive lips. Instead another voice caught him off guard, a voice that belonged to a vocalist and guitarist.

Kairi loped along beside portly baker with relative ease, though if compared to the Coach she looked only a little more graceful than Hyght. Her comment made Hyght want to groan but at his current pace he found himself all but mute. His body deemed words to be irrelevant and far less important than sucking what oxygen it could from the air around him. So instead the panting trainee expressed himself with a single finger. The gesture held no ire and he hoped she knew that. He'd rather not face that powerful swing again so soon.

Off somewhere in the unknown of the sidelines, Hyght could hear the voice of Gricelda and had caught a glimpse of Chloe's armor. He was already a bit surprised to find Grics here but two of his three roommates had turned up at the same class with him. He found it a tad odd but not too uncommon. However, he took note that Chloe had her armor and spear with her, a stark contrast to the plain clothes everyone else sported. He wondered if she would run with them. Just the thought of that made Hyght dread for a fictitious version of himself carrying weights and running at someone else's pace. He hoped that when he was done with these next five laps that he could be given time to catch his breath.

This Kairi looked energetic and friendly, something that Chloe found pretty nice. She smiled at the floating girl and was about to introduce herself too but was interrupted by the teacher… or is it coach? Technicalities, they didn’t matter to the green haired huntress in training. She was a bit sad the girl left as if in a hurry before even hearing her name, but as she said, they would have time later for introductions. In fact, why not now? They seemed to be having conversations while running. Was that… typical? Her memories of running were generally under the threat of her sister’s sword that would poke her in the back if she slowed down, so the only words out of her mouth at the time would be exclamations of pain and curses.

Chloe shrugged and started running, not caring that her armor made her running steps a bit more heavy on the ground. She was used to it enough to still roll through her strides and not sound like she was stomping the ground at every steps. Still, she couldn’t avoid some noise. Some might have expected metal clicking sound from her running in her armor, but it was almost totally silent on that aspect. The only moving metallic part was her shoulder plates and they only rarely made contact with her chest plate while moving.

With a leisure pace – for her – she caught up with Kairi. “Me name is Chloe Erinys just so ya know. See ya later!” She then proceeded to pick up the pace a bit. The teacher said this was a warmup only so she didn’t press on too hard. She did make sure to catch-up with Gris, waving at Hyght as she passed by. He looked like he was dying or something; he really needed to get in shape. Well, she approved of his tenacity and the fact he was acting on his ambitions. She wanted to encourage him but she didn’t know what to say. Not that she was never on the receiving end of some “motivating” words, but she doubted he’d appreciate the kind of motivation you saw in military movies.

From there, she just kept running. She closed her eyes at one point and just enjoyed it. She didn’t realise that for a simple warmup, she was already running pretty fast… which was even more noticeable from the fact she was running with a super heavy chest plate and helmet. It’s not like she was showing off, she hated show-offs, but she was smiling and the only thing in her head at the moment was ‘Aaaah… I can finally take it easy!’
