the day was just reaching the peak as the heat had warmed the sand so those frolicking through them stired the nightmares swelling in a young does mind as she laided on the beach in a one piece swimsuit, her left leg was covered all the way to the middle of her thigh. Her dream as childen rand the steps in the sand sounded like beowolf paw galloping twaards her as she ran in her dream running from the wolves as one came to the side and attacked her leg.  Merlynn awoke from her slumber on the beach with a gasp as her dreams was filled with fear. under an umbrella she withdrew her left leg a heavy sweat pouring from her body as she  hid in the shadows of the umbrella.  her right hand held her leg close as she looked out on to the water. her hair was now much different ever since her accident with some beowolve, her hair pixie cut around moving into some long strands turing in to a braid that landed on her right shoulder.  on a side note merlynn had shown up less for classes, often skipping grim classes and coming to the beach often sitting under the same umbrella. even the weather did not change this course but today it was a bright sunny day and merlynn was hiding in the shadows.

"hmmm what should I do? it looks hideous." she lightly peeled her thigh high back revealing the tip of a scar and she let it fold back over as a mean to hide it.  merlynns jumped at the sound of a beach ball falling near her, teeth clenched in fear trying not to show it.  this once proud doe was once a force to be reckoned with but now she seemed terrified by any thing that moved. Her choice of fighting with a zwielander  almost double her size which normally was at her side was left in her room collecting dust and on the blade its self was scars much like merlynn had on her leg showing the failure she had become.   coming down from the spook given to her by the beach ball enough to let her body relax once again she stared in the the underneath of the umbrella.

Maestus

Maestus
Although it certainly wasn't her favorite place in the world, Maestus found herself at the beach, listening to the waves as she walked around.  She usually avoided areas close to the ocean, since salt water leaves behind a really uncomfortable feeling on her, and the sand can get stuck in her joints every now and again.  Despite all of this, she walked across the sand, taking in the view and watching people relax on the beach.  One of which caught her eye.  She noticed her sleeping there for a while as she walked by, and she would have kept walking past her if she didn't wake up so aggressively.  Maestus had never seen something like this happen before.  Most humans and faunus woke up so slowly that she thought they were sick or something like that.  This person however, seemed to wake up out of fear, even though she was asleep.  Maestus never knew what happened to living beings when they fell asleep, if they went somewhere else in their heads or if they were just temporarily dead.  She never had to sleep herself, so how would she know?

She turned to face the person, concerned about what she was afraid of and if it was still a threat now.  As she walked towards her, she made no sound with any step.  This wasn't voluntary, it was just the way she was built, and the sand wasn't doing her any favors.  It'd be too difficult or awkward to make herself known to this person before talking to her, so startling her would be inevitable.  She crouched down so she was at least close enough to talk to her normally and quietly asked her. "What are you afraid of?"  No matter how hard she tried, her voice always seemed so unnatural to others, but whether or not this would bother this person was up to them.  For now, Maestus waited for a response, hoping she wouldn't be too startled by Maestus's sudden presence.

the moment the large robot walked close to her and spoke merlynn had not caught a glimpse of Maestus. So when she was addressed she let out this strange noise as a means of her scream merlynn looked up and scooted away her eyes showed terror. she hitched away but in her scramble to move back she hitched her left sock down some to revel scar-tissue. merlynn looked like a maiden filled with fear as she laid there propping her self up with her right her left arm as a shield. her legs held close to her in a manner some one would use to ride side saddle. taking a few moment merlynns heart rate was able to be heard as her chest pounded, the doe was slowly coming down from the fear.

It was at this time merlynn had the ability to speak again. "nothing,.... its nothing...." she gasps seeing her leg exposed she and quickly cover her scar with a flustered look on her face. as if she was being peeped on she covered her body with her left arm. "what do you want." her voice was sharp like she was angry, her eyes no longer showed pure terror but where more relaxed.

Although she wasn't sure what she was supposed to expect, she couldn't help but be caught off guard by the sudden shock of this strange person.  The obvious scars she tried to hide made this person seem even more interesting to Maestus.  Still, she had to deal with how she scared this person. She wasn't that scary, was she?  Come to think of it, when most people were obviously afraid, Maestus never really gave them a chance before things got violent.  This seems like it'd be the perfect opportunity to learn how to calm people down and get a decent conversation going after a rough start.  How does it normally work?  She had to make herself seem like she wasn't a threat somehow.  She let out a quiet sigh and took a seat in the sand, slowly waving her hand to the stranger with her claws retracted.

"Sorry about that. . .  I saw you wake up pretty violently, so  I wanted to know if I could help, that's all."  So far so good, but she couldn't help but feel like she was messing this up somehow.  A lack of a human face or any form of facial expression wasn't doing her any favors either.  To seem more casual, Maestus tilted her head slightly to the left as she held her hand out to introduce herself. "I'm Maestus, in case you were wondering."  If there was anything she was familiar with about living beings, it was their memory.  She'd caused some people to live in fear for years, and if those scars on that girl's legs were any hint, she may have gone through some sort of trauma in the past.  After waiting for a handshake, she would point at the stranger's legs and ask, "Battle scars?"

merlynn face turned red more from embarrassment when spoken to about how she awoke so violently and wanting to give her aide. "never you mind why I woke up its not worth any of your programming." She looked at the android up and down and could see that was no battle suit worn by a human or faunus. there was a lot of signs about the tall women like android.  but needless to say it was how she was approached it wasn't natural it almost seemed forced.   shortly there was a hand reached out to her as if looking for a hand shake merlynn kept her distance and made her glare more intense as if she was on the defensive.  upon hearing the androids name she snorts a little. "no i wasn't wondering that. nore do i care just get away from me i don't want any friendly hands for help nore do i want...it." she started to get a more upset look on her face like Merlynn was struggling to tell her to get lost.

then when merlynns scars on her legs where pointed out merlynn hugs her left leg and turned away. laying on to her towel. her tone went dark and mean. "shut up... don't talk about it." she was angry but who was she more any at herself or the android for mentioning it merlynn felt herself choke up as she spoke. "its Abigail." her voice was gargled by her own emotions that where choking her throat like a noose around her neck the does back was to the android so her name might be hard to hear. but it was showing merlynn was willing to talk just it seemed she was more of a boiling pot ready to burst or be taken off the flame to cool down.

Maestus's head twitched as Abigail let out that "programming" comment.  Seriously? Programming? She felt rage slowly and steadily build within her.  As far as she could tell, she perceived the world as any other person did, not that she would be able to compare it to others.  She didn't feel compelled to help her out of something in her programming, she just felt like it would be the right thing to do to help someone troubled.  Despite her best effort, her rage would show in the form of a very feint, dark, golden glow radiating off of her claws on her hands and feet.  This wasn't so much a threat as it was a warning.  "I get that you're angry right now, and I didn't mean to scare you, but don't ever talk to me like I'm some sort of mindless machine."  She instantly regretted those words as she realized that her main goal at the moment was to help this person with whatever was bothering them, and this was the furthest thing from being helpful.

She pulled her hand back and place it on her lap. "I'm sorry about that.  It's good to meet you, Abigail.  You know, you don't have to pretend that everything's fine right now, I might not know you yet but you could at least give me a chance to help you out here."   There, that might be a bit more welcoming than what was just said a moment ago.
