Noire had always been a simple person. Whether this was a product of her nature or her upbringing, she would probably never know. It was a question that she never bothered to ask herself, really. She had a tendency to accept things as they were without questioning much. Maybe this was why her outlook was so black and white: Good people needed to be protected and bad people needed to be beaten.

The young girl was more akin to a wrecking ball than a future huntress. If someone pointed at something that needed to be destroyed or taken down, she would do so in a heartbeat. If it required her to come to some hidden conclusion, though... it might take a while.

There was no denying that Noire had a love for combat. That's why she currently stood in the middle of a crowded street holding a sign.

Spelling had never been her strong suit. Understandable, since she had taught herself how to read and write only a few years prior. Giant broadsword strapped to her back, she was ready for just about any challenger. It seemed that the people around her weren't interested, though.

Pluton Cronus

Pluton Cronus
Pluton hadn't really been in Springwood before, he'd been slumming it in Bellmuse for perhaps too long; sleeping in alleyways and beneath benches. As such, walking through the smaller of the urban hubs, the white haired boy wasn't getting the looks of fear he felt he deserved... he never really got those looks of fear but still! Even in this tiny town they didn't know and fear Pluton Cronus!? The biggest, scariest, soon to be strongest hunter on the island?! Without even the help of their dumb academy! How dumb of them, he'd have to set 'em straight.

He was walking through town, hands deep in his baggy pockets, giving everyone who passed what he thought to be a menacing grin... it just really, really, wasn't. He was giving these broad, wide mouthed, teeth flashing smiles which just kinda showed everyone he wasn't brushing his teeth super well. Everyone who passed him would maybe just notice this, raise a brow as they passed him, and keep going. This came to a head when he caught up with some mother, pushing their child in a pram; he made his wide smirk only for the child to burst not into tears... but laughter. It was only now that he realised... he wasn't doing a very good job of scaring this populous, he heaved a heavy groan; stoping in the centre of town and looking up to the cloudless sky. He clenched his fists, sure he'd end up breaking a window or wrecking a car... but that's was too much effort, he wanted to be intimidating without even trying! Ugh!

Lowering his gaze back to its normal height he spotted something out the corner of his eye, a handle of...something, sticking out of someone's back. Taking a couple steps around, giving the figure a more thorough look, it was pretty clear they were a hunter, or at least one in training, with that rad cape and all that metal lookin' stuff. This was perfect! Pluton's right fist met his left open palm, the stupid smirk growing once-more, taking down whoever this was would for sure spread his notoriety through Springwood! He rushed around a corner, attempting to hide from the girl's vision, and took off his backpack; from it drawing his six metal blades; each 25 centimetres in radius, spikes running along their edges. They were dumb, much too heavy, but they were all he really had. He took two of them and, rather carefully so as not to hurt himself, stuck them into the space on the lower left and right side of his jacket; just a little bit of armour. He took the other four, two in each hand, and his his bag among some garbage.

With that done he amped himself up, running on the spot briefly; doing some stretches, almost taking his eye out with his weapons, before exiting the alleyway! He swayed as he walked, forcing his way through the crowd and toward the grey haired girl; stupid smile on his face. He didn't even notice how much taller he was than her, a whole head and shoulders. Once she was in range he decided to call her out; "Yo! I'm gonna beat you down! Y'ain't ready for this!" He hadn't even noticed her sign...

Noire turned around so fast she almost gave herself whiplash. But never mind the slight ache in her neck, someone had responded to her challenge! He was armed and ready! He looked like he wanted to fight just as badly as she did. A wide grin spread across the girl's face. Her eyes were practically shining. She held the cardboard sign in front of her chest as she faced the armed stranger with a dopey expression. Without turning away from him, she chucked the sign to the side. It crashed against someone's forehead, knocking the innocent civilian down, but Noire was none the wiser.

She drew her sword and got into a defensive stance. The giant slab of obsidian was almost her size and gleamed dully under the sunshine. Somehow, she managed to wield it like it was an extension of herself. At this point, seeing two people with weapons drawn in the middle of a public street, the crowds began to disperse. Again, the young faunus girl paid little to no attention to that. Her bare feet slid across the ground, widening her stance.

"Oh! I'm Noire by the way!" She said. She had almost forgotten to introduce herself, silly girl. "First one to yield, yeah?" She asked. Best to establish some rules before they got started. Albeit, that was the only rule that came to mind. Anything about semblances, weapons or collateral damage was beyond her.

If Pluton agreed to the rules, Noire would stand her ground and wait to counterattack with her semblance. It was her usual fighting style. She could keep her distance while still attacking at close range and could turn attacks directed towards her against her opponents. Instinct was her guide. She improvised and reacted rather than proactively strategizing.

Oh... oh she actually was going to fight him? Wait, she had a sign? Was she barefoot? He'd just noticed she was barefoot... why was she barefoot? She'd drawn a sword but he was much too distracted by her lack of footwear, was she homeless to? His shoes had been gradually breaking down over the months, was this the eventual reality? He shook his head, regrowing his smirk; trying to play it off like he wasn't stunned whatsoever. "Sure sure, 'less ya fall unconscious before that. I'll prop ya up on a bench or somethin'. Are you sure you don't wanna like... stretch? That thing looks kinda massive, are you not even gonna do some shoulder rolls? Maybe a cross stretch?" Pluton was perplexed but she looked to be in some kind of serious stance, prepared to fight... almost like she'd practiced or something. Pluton had done strength training for years, but when it came to actual combat style he was more of a go with the flow sort; otherwise known as garbage.

Pluton shrugged, taking three blades between his knuckles on his left hands and holding one between his thumb and index finger on the right. That sword was pretty big, almost as long as the wielder, but if he just kept outside its range that shouldn't be a problem. Or well... he didn't exactly want to hold back, that'd be lame, but if he got one good hit off he'd be able to rush in to take advantage of the opening! He pulled his right hand across his body, like a frisbee player set to throw, when a thought occurred to him... this was maybe just maybe... a little obvious.

Nah, she'll never see this commin' for sure.

Pluton took a step forward tossing the single disk toward her, it wobbling in the air and very nearly flipping as it spun toward her! As he did so he would rush up, left arm now across his right side with three more disks, he would hold them tight in his knuckles and attempt a slashing attack across her body before reaching in for a gut punch with his empty right fist. All of these completely telegraphed, he was reaching across his body far too over dramatically... probably trying to look cool or something. His size didn't help matters and yet he was refusing to make use of his reach, first throwing and then rushing in!

The man - her new opponent - failed to introduce himself. At least he accepted the terms of battle, right? He was asking about whether Noire would warm up before fighting. He had a point, her sword was big, but she had never really seen it as an inconvenience. Sure, it was heavy at first, but it had been so long since she had had it that the weight was but a second thought. She shrugged in response. He seemed confused, but by what, Noire couldn't begin to guess.

No matter! There was a fight to be had!

Noire braced herself. The white haired man already had his weapons in hand. They looked like projectiles. They also seemed a little uncomfortable to handle, what with the spikes all over the edges. It was a bit hypocritical of her to judge someone else's weapon, considering that hers was basically just a slab of obsidian. Thankfully, unlike her last one on one fight, she was allowed to use her semblance this time.

Her opponent launched one of his disks towards her. She used the flat part of her sword - the fuller, she learned it was called - as a shield. The weapon bounced off harmlessly. It looked like he wasn't done attacking, though. He ran towards her, arm drawn back. Noire blinked a couple of times. The attack was... obvious? Maybe too obvious? Like he was winding up to pitch a baseball? There had to be more to it! It was probably incredibly strong or had a lot of momentum to it! And those blades! She assumed they were the same as the one he tossed before.

She blocked the slash in the same way, but the follow-up punch was sure to be dangerous. There was only one way to deal with an attack like that. Instead of using her sword to block once more, she decided to use activate her semblance instead. As soon as he would try to land his punch, his hand would go straight through a small portal. To the average onlooker, it would appear that the man's arm had suddenly disappeared, only to reappear beside him. If he didn't manage to stop, he would end up punching himself in across the right cheek.

Noire would follow up by trying to hit his stomach with her sword's pommel. She would continue to attempt to slash across his stomach in one fluid motion. Another portal would appear behind her. She would sink into it and vanish, only to exit behind her opponent and swing her weapon like a bat, aiming at his torso, to send him flying across the street.

Pluton Cronus

Pluton Cronus
Something met Pluton's chin, something familiar yet... unfamiliar. It was a blow to the lower left side of his face, a knuckle catching just where his jaw rounded to span up to the ear. It rocked him, not just due to the force but the surprise of the hit; he'd been so focused on the sword that this thing from the corner of his eye; it had caught him completely off guard! He was certain some big bird had crashed into him, maybe someone else had thrown something at him, but he certainly didn't think the girl had caused this blow. He found himself lifted off the ground, tilting toward the right as he began to crash toward the ground.

With the speed he flew toward the ground the pommel strike missed entirely however, the slash caught him as he fell; smashing into the disk he had stashed in the left of his jacket and whacking him in the gut. It made a sound not unlike a gong. He fully met with the ground but refused to stay put; his left hand still fully armed he would slash at the girl's legs, raising them in a backhanded swipe before stretching back and tossing all three forward! They didn't have a clean flight pattern, the centre one rushing ahead, veering a little left, while the other two lagged behind and went right. They were all approximately headed toward her centre torso, albeit at completely different heights and rushing toward different sections, none on path with her portals. It wasn't intentional... but he'd done pretty well.

He slowly got to his feet, drawing up the first plate he had thrown from the girl's feet. He held it before himself in a defensive manner, looking over his shoulders to try to find his assailant; "I dunno what happened, but if you're usin' some kinda outside help I'll just have to beat em down to!"
