Liona Mimiko

Liona Mimiko
(Grimm Roll Medium.)

The Finnek Forest. It was one of Bellmuse's pride and joys, and Liona could see why. The beautiful blue leaves rivaled the red leaves of Forever Fall back in Vale. The blonde Faunus always enjoyed the fresh air and out doors, so spending the rest of her day out here would be nice. The school had officially opened, and Liona only had one morning class. And introductory class on Grimm. This brought her to her real reason for being out in the blue forest. Students were expected to hunt for Grimm every so often, collecting the rewards for them and using those to pay for things that they needed. Liona really wanted som experience in hunting, and she knew there would be Grimm out here somewhere. So she walked, fallen leaves crunching under her feet as she searched for those vile creatures of darkness. The creatures that made her want to be a huntress in the first place.

Veta Hunter

Veta Hunter
Veta balanced on a fallen log trailing just behind Liona. She probably qualified as the pink-haired faunus's best friend at this point, being the first person she met here and all. And also a faunus. Veta had good balance, and even though she made a show of almost falling off a time or two, she had no real trouble crossing her makeshift wooden bridged that crossed the leaves at their feet. Finally, she hopped down, her scarf trailing behind her as she landed. "I've never fought any grimm before." she admitted. She'd had a couple of classes about them now, but she'd only seen one since coming here, and it had been caged. "Think we can handle it?" she asked the other two with her.

She looked totally carefree, but was actually on high alert for any grimm that might appear out of the foliage around them. She'd been warned that they were a sneaky lot. What would they find? Something big and nasty? Or would they have a nicer introduction to real combat? Either way, she supposed they needed to succeed. After all, this was their job now. And it was an important one, especially around here.

Gisen Ceostra

Gisen Ceostra
Appearance:

It was a quiet area, surprisingly to be truthful. Gisen had expected a little it more out of the forest near the campus grounds to have been a little more in her favor of a Grimm to appear from somewhere. Rationally, she had always seemed vigilant of her surroundings, and had a better time focusing on things when her own area was silent, and the only sounds she could hear were the crunching of twigs and or leaves and grass crunching beneath her feet. She had a much better time finding out whether or not she was to be attacked soon or not by ANY sounds not brought about by the wind, but her eyes were moved by even the very wind pushing along a leaf through the dirt. Then footsteps caught her ears. She jumped stright up, grabbing onto a low but sturdy tree branch and hoping up into the trees and jumping one by one, using years of sheer practice and habit guiding her along, until a familiar pair of neko ears caught her eye. With her mask on, she stopped, and sat on the branch. She then swung around and let herself drop, only letting her legs hold her up, and hang to the left of the blonde neko as she would remove her mask. "Small world I see. Nice to meet you here." She spoke, her face not seeming to be sarcastic or joking but rather calm and neutral. Looking over, the other neko had accompanied her as well. Seeing this, the assassin only placed her mask into the clothing, leaving it to hang out barely, and giggle. "Oh~ Should be fun. I get to hang out with both the pretty cat girls today~." She giggled, smiling to them both.

Deathstalker

Deathstalker
Insectoid eyes watched the three girls as the Deathstalker clicked its mandibles hungrily. Unknowingly, the three girls had tread into it's territory, and now they were free game. It hid behind a large rock face. Listening to the sounds of the girls approaching footsteps. Soon, very soon, it would feast. Eventually, the sounds of their footsteps and crunching leaves indicated they were close enough to strike. The Deathstalker burst out from behind the rocks, knocking them over along with a couple trees. Hopefully startling the girls with the display of size and strength. It's multifaceted eyes focused on the redheaded girl in the middle and it suddenly shot it's stinger out towards her, hoping to impale the small creature on it.

Liona Mimiko

Liona Mimiko
Veta had been traveling behind the golden blonde, wondering if they could handle Grimm hunting for the first time. She said that she had never fought the dark creatures before. Liona had fought a few in Vale, but she had been with her mother every time. This would be the first time shoe would be on her own. And she wasn't. On her own, that is. She had Veta there with her, as the two girls had been fast friends since the day before school. "I don't know. We are still pretty close to the school, so the tough Grimm might have already been picked out and destroyed." However this was only a theory. Liona didn't know for sure.

As they walked, The older Faunus heard a rustling in the trees next to her. Instinctively, she jumped as she brought out her 'claws' and faced the tree where a person would now be hanging. It was the human woman from the other day. "Tch." Liona was more upset that she had been more surprised than she was that she had run into a human again. With a sigh, she sheathed her claws back into her gauntlets and began walking again, basically ignoring ninja girl as she decided to join them apparently. Liona guessed that she didn't mind all that much, but this would not have been her first choice.

Well, it didn't matter because they had bigger things to worry about. Suddenly, a huge scorpion like monster popped out of the cloak of a large nearby rock. It was a Deathstalker. A creature of Grimm. Liona brought her claws back out and darted along the side of the beast. She noticed that it was actually going after Veta first, which could not be allowed. Her aura enhanced her speed, so she got to the back half of the Grimm fast. With her Shredsteele gauntlets, she took a swipe at the base of the scorpion's tail, hoping to at the very least provoke it's attention away from her party members.

Veta Hunter

Veta Hunter
Though Liona had simply kept walking, Veta had stopped. Her own spear was out in a blink of an eye, but she hadn't yet begun to defend herself when the woman she remembered was called Gisen greeted them. She let out a sigh. It was just the human girl. "Nice to see you too," she answered in a friendly manner, not failing to notice Liona's instant dismissal. Veta also ignored (or possibly missed) what was probably a flirty statement.

She'd begun to turn around and keep following Liona before she got too far ahead when the creature burst through the trees with a crash. It was impossibly large, knocking over trees as it lunged. And it was coming straight for her. Liona was fast though, and struck at the creature just as the pink-haired faunus leaped out of the way. It was a good thing she did too, because that tail would make short work of any of them. She wondered if she'd managed to dodge properly of if it had had anything to do with Liona. Either way she was thankful.

They'd definitely found one of the stronger creatures of grimm. She began running to the side opposite of Liona, strafing the creature as best she could before stabbing at it with a swift jab from her sharp spear. She had to keep moving, even as she stabbed, because there was no way she wanted to get attacked by that thing's tail again. She jumped back again after the strike. She suddenly wished she had more than a dinky spear and shield to fight monsters.

Gisen Ceostra

Gisen Ceostra
Gisen blinked in confusion from the way she was treated. It was an odd thing for someone to not have been a little afraid, but when your adrenaline is on edge as well as your nerves, it isn't TOO surprising not to see someone nearly jump out of their skins. Then the blonde neko girl had swung a pair of metal claws out into Gisen's face, pausing her attack just before getting to her face, and a blank expression hung in her face. Her eyes starred in awe of the weapons, but her facial expression took a moment before it turned to a smile. "Woah, that's pretty awesome. Are they in your hand or something? I don't think I've seen someone ever do that." she nearly badgered, completely taken by the way that Liona had used her weapons. Her eyes would be fixed on the weapons until the blonde haired fauna had put them away, after which a small nearly unnoticeable sigh would leave her lips.

The assassin took the other girls sigh like another insult. Surely if she had animal like ears the would droop toward her head, much like her frown that she now wore. "You girls sure don't like me do you? Did I do something to piss you off when we met?" She asked, blatantly confused and lost in their negative attitude toward her. "If I did, then I'm sorry. I'm not entirely a peoples person, in terms of conversation.. Talk to me about killing them.. And it's a whole other ball park." She said, kind of laughing off the whole thing like a joke, though she was rather serious about it. She wasn't in need to really hide the fact she killed people for a living, though they may find it rather humorous themselves to know she has killed humans all the same like herself, though it never seemed to matter to her truthfully.

The sudden burst of sound made her react of just habitual instinct -climbing back up the tree. In sound so she grabbed onto the branch and pushed herself up and onto her feet atop the branch she had just hung from. Being on a tree close to where the creature broke through, Gisen felt her tree going down, and she jumped toward another one, only to misjudge the distance and fall to a lower branch. In quick thought, her eyes peered over as she had jumped to a higher branch and looked down to see the girls moving about, staying slightly close to it. "No way in hell imma let them have all the fun here." She thought to herself, jumping along branches and trees to reach one just over the top of the Grimm they were fighting. A smile grew as she pulled out her mask once more and placed it over her face and pulled out her Kama's, both mirrored in appearance. With a firm grip, she awaited the Grimm to decide it's target or a signal from either girl to jump down for an attack, that was if the Grimm didn't already know where she had gone after being jabbed already by Veta's weapon.

Deathstalker

Deathstalker
The Deathstalker's tail soared towards the small creature when suddenly they split up. The blonde one zipping around the deathstalker and carving a chunk of flesh out of it's tail. And the redheaded one running the other way and poking it with a small spear. The scorpion chittered it's irritation and flopped it's tail down. It was now laying across the ground behind it. Suddenly the Deathstalker started to turn very fast. Spinning to face the blonde creature. And in the process swiping at the redheaded one with it's tail, hopefully knocking her a fair distance away with the sheer mass of it's tail. The Deathstalker chittered some more as it started swiping at the blonde. First trying to catch her in one claw in the direction she was running, and if that didn't work the claw on the other side of it's body. And if that didn't work either it would just simply try to bite the girl that was bothering it. It was hungry and it didn't understand why it's meals wouldn't fall over and submit for it.

Liona's attack seemed to work, and the beast's attention was on her. Perfect.  While she did this, She spotted Veta run to the other side of the Deathstalker, presumably to do a bit more damage. The scorpion monster fell to the ground, and even though Liona thought she was strong, she knew she wasn't that strong to bring down a whole Deathstalker even with Veta's help. and Where did that Human go? Liona had ignored her question of if she had made the Faunai mad, Which she hadn't. Liona treated all humans this way. Nothing new or special, considering how she had been treated in the past.

Well, that was not the thing to think about now. The Grimm had gotten back up, Definitely after Liona now. The blonde began to run, and run fast, as she was pursued by the monster that she and her companion...s... had been hunting. This was her plan though. This was what she wanted. She quickstepped to the sides to dodge the claws before suddenly stopping and jumping. Unless the monster was expecting her to stop all of a sudden, Liona would barely escape it's jaws and land on top of it, now running in the opposite direction on top of the Deathstalker's back. as she ran, she crouched down to allow her claws to dig into the Grimm's back and drag them, along.

Veta Hunter

Veta Hunter
Unlike Liona, Veta had caught the human girl disappearing into the trees, though she didn't have time to see what she was doing up there. As she jumped away, she caught sight of her friend moving to attack the scorpion from the front. But it was a momentary distraction, and Veta was slammed by the scorpion's tail with a loud and pained yelp from the pink-haired faunus.

It knocked the wind out of her, but with the help of her defensive aura, she had enough presence of mind left to not let herself get thrown so easily. Using her spear, she jabbed it into the scorpion's large tail, going along for the ride as it recovered. Now she was stuck on its tail. Great. At least she'd got in another good stab, right? The faunus's mostly useless (in this situation, at least) sheild retracted into the bracer she wore under her sleeve, and she gripped the tail with one arm and the spear with the other. Her legs were wrapped around the huge beast as she tried not to get thrown off. "Not fun! Not fun! Bad Ideaaaa!" she yelled aloud, gripping onto the front of the tail.

The beast felt an impact in it's tail followed by a sting as the small creature clung to it's tail and stabbed it. The other creature hopped onto it's head and started to claw at it's back. The Deathstalker chittered it's irritation and proceeded to quickly raise it's tail up, lifting the small creature up with it. Then suddenly smashing it, and the small creature clinging to it on the ground, unless the creature managed to move somehow it might hurt it a bit more. It then quickly shot it's tail up at the other creature at a lightning fast speed. With the other creature clinging to it or not, trying to stab it with it's tail as it started to move towards another rock face. If these creatures kept climbing all over it, it might as well scrape the irritants off.

As Liona scratched at the Deathstalker's back, she heard some yelling coming from somewhere above her. She looked up and saw Veta hanging by her spear from the Grimm's Tail, and Liona had nothing she could do to help her friend from where she was. "You might wanna jump!" she shouted, deciding to give some verbal aid instead as the Deathstalker Slammed its tail into the ground. Whether Veta was still there or not, the beast would attempt to Strike Liona, still on its back, with its tail. Liona would side step quickly to the right while spinning 180 degrees and wrap her right arm around the scorpion's tail, just below the base of the stinger, and use the Shredsteele on her left hand to attempt to Slice the stinger. She would continue this attack even if the Grimm tried to lift her off of the ground with its massive tail.

Veta yelped, hearing her friend's advice just as the scorpion tried to slam her. She let go of the spear, falling down beside Liona and rolling, catching herself before she fell off of the Deathstalker. She stood back up by the time it had finished flailing, in time to see the rock face coming up. She jumped off of the deathstalker, never losing sight of her weapon. By the time it was done with everything, her spear was threatening to dislodge itself. She couldn't lose her only weapon, especially not while the thing was alive.

Veta vaulted up the creature's tail before it had a chance to renew it's attack, dislodging the spear from its tail as she fell back towards the creature's back, this time more controlled. She tried to stab her spear into its back while Liona tried to attack the stinger. After the stab, she ran forward, trying to stab closer to its head again.

Somehow it failed to strike either girl, as one hopped onto it's back and poked it, and the other was clawing at it's tail. But no matter. As it reached the large cliff face it picked the creature clawing at it's tail up with it's tail and attempted to slam it against the rock face. It then would quickly bunch it's legs underneath itself, and launch into the air towards the cliff. Rotating in the air it would slam it's back, with the small creature on it, against the side of the cliff. Not only leaving a large imprint of blood. As the Deathstalker was bleeding quite a bit as of this point, but possibly squishing the small creature against the cliff face as well.

As the Deathstalker began to left her up, She swung backwards and hoisted herself onto the tail to ride it like a horse, still clawing at it to try to sever the stinger. In her peripheral vision, she noticed the rock face coming up, and coming up FAST. "Oh Hell." Quickly, she intentionally fell backwards, Hurtling toward the ground as the Deathstalker reached the peak of its jump, right before slamming into the cliff. Almost instantly, Liona steadied her fall, Quickly pulling out a fire dust crystal and batting it powerfully with her claws before she fell into a tree.

The Dust crystal would crack open as it travelled back toward the scorpion Grimm. It formed into a dusty lioness of fire, Liona's very special move. It ran through the air, seeking out the Deathstalker in an attempt to reach it and burn it up. Liona could only hope Veta was able to move.

Veta stabbed again at the creature just as it began to throw itself violently. Reacting quickly, she looked up and saw a cliff face barreling towards her. Or rather... she was barreling towards it. Her eyes widened and she yelped, diving off of the creature and slamming into the ground hard. She rolled, so nothing was broken or anything, but it didn't feel good in the slightest. "Owww." she complained. She'd left the spear there on purpose. When it slammed into the rock it would drive the spear further into the creature and hopefully finish it off for good. If that didn't work... well the fiery Dust cat that rushed past her at that instant might do the trick. She was thankful she'd bought a weapon that was highly heat resistant so the Dust attack wouldn't do anything extra to the weapon. She got up with a grunt, ready to keep fighting if she needed to, though she had a slight grin on her face from the knowledge the scorpion was hurting itself more than it had hurt her.

Gisen Ceostra

Gisen Ceostra
Gisen watched from the trees above, wanting to jump down and in, but she had little experience fighting a Grimm like this. In her time fighting them, she mostly fought more up close and smaller sized ones, rather than the type of creatures bigger like the scorpion below the black haired assassin. Having it move around so much harder made her timing to assist them that much harder, and with the tension they seemed to have against her, though she still was unsure as of why, she had to think of a more precise way in to be able to hit this creature and get some of the attention off of them. kneeling onto the tree branch, Gisen removed her hand off of the trunk of the tree and pulled out both of her Kama and took in a deep breath and gripped her blades tight. "Here goes nothing!~" She said aloud, placing pressure into her feet, she had found a spot right by the base of where it's head was, and leaped off the tree branch and let gravity pull her down until she crashed down onto the scorpions head, her blades both slicing into the back of it's head. She took a second to collect herself from the impact before she could fully recover and jump off to the right side of the scorpion and take a leg off as she moved of it.

The deathstalker managed to slam against the rock face, but that only elicited the spear stabbing into it's exoskeleton. It did manage to smash one of the creatures against the cliff, but another sharp bit of pain came from it's tail in response. As the creature started to black out. It hissed threateningly one last time at the two creatures. Before a strange shadow dashed out of the trees. Flying over it the last thing the deathstalker ever felt was the flash of pain of the twin kamas sinking into it's exoskeleton. The creature let out a death hiss as it lurched forward. It's multifaceted eyes going blank as it fell to the ground. Shuddering one last time before going still. A pool of blood soaked into the ground around the beast. Indicating that it had succumbed to it's wounds, and had passed into the great wherever, where all defeated grimms go after they've passed on.

Liona Mimiko
Liona dropped down from the tree, brushing herself off as she had sustained a bit of dirt and damage from the branches of the blue plant. She looked up in time so see a combined effort of her fire Lioness, Veta's Spear, and suddenly, the raven headed human girl out of NOWHERE, subdue the Deathstalker and leaving it to fall to the ground with no life left in it. or at least, what passed for a Life for these creatures of darkness. Liona's smile was big. She had actually taken down her first Grimm! Sure, It was with some help, which did not go unthanked, but it still counted and the feeling was great. Now though, Liona had to hurry to another class so she needed to go. She stayed to help get Veta's Spear back if the red head faunus needed it, but then she ran back toward the school for her next lecture.

Veta could feel that she'd hurt something. It wasn't too bad, but her ankle throbbed a bit from the fall from the scorpion. Oh well, she decided she'd hide it from Liona and use her spear for balance. "Great job!" she told them with a nod, her ears perked up happily.

In the end, Liona did have to help with the spear - it was embedded quite deep and she didn't really want to reach inside a scorpion. But soon enough the entire thing was cleaned off and Liona had run off to class. Veta had one more class, herself, but figured it was a good chance to rest her foot and make sure it wasn't anything more than a small sprain. "That was a really nice hit, Gisen," she told the young woman after Liona had left. It was complete with a friendly smile. She didn't hate Gisen in the slightest, though she was a little quiet for the social faunus's tastes. She waited for Gisen to depart as well, and took her time getting back to the Academy, feeling proud of her accomplishments today.
