Lucy was normally bright and chipper by this time in the morning, fully dressed and ready to pursue the day, but today...something was...off. She walked through the hallway in nothing but her nightie, before stopping in the kitchen doorway. She was dragging Mr. Floppsies by one ear, him dragging across the floor. She rubbed one eye sleepily, then smiled in a sleepy manner when she saw Mr. Davis, slowly and groggily walking into the kitchen barefoot. As adorable as it was, it was definitely not the normal process of events, but what happened next was even more odd.

Lucy spoke up to ask Mr. Davis a question, and that was a not-so-subtle hint that something was wrong. "Greetings: Good morning Davis, Mr., how-MORNING-are you-INQUIRY?" she muttered sleepily, she then yawned and then gave him a sleepy hug, then began to walk over to her chair.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! SMACK! "Mmph..."

Alex rolled over in his bed, not wanting to wake up. It had been the third time he had slapped the snooze button with his hand, and had rolled over to fall back asleep. It was always the same when he went to sleep in a comfortable bed. Out in the wild he could wake up instantly or seemingly when he wanted to... but put Alex in a comfy warm bed and he would almost hibernate! However Alex was well aware of his tendencies to want to sleep in, even if he had gone to bed early, so he had rigged a way to wake himself up if refused to wake up to the alarm clock on the third attempt. A electronic signal traveled from the clock to a receiver that was under Alex's bed. There was a small mechanical click, a couple of solenoids warmed up... and Alex's entire bed tipped over to the right and unceremoniously dumped the survivalist professor onto the floor.

"Ow... dang it Alex, you have got to wake up at the sound of that alarm." Alex said to himself as he got up and finally turned off his alarm clock and forcefully pushed his bed back down into place until it clicked back into place. After that he finally started to get himself dressed and headed out towards the kitchen. Glancing at the clock Alex could see that Lucy would be getting up soon and quickly started to get some waffles ready for her, complete with sausage links on the side and strawberries and whipped cream to top off the waffles. Yeah he could've given her a simple bowl of cereal, but why when he could do soooo much more?

He had just finished Lucy's breakfast and placed it on the table for her when she started to walk into the kitchen, though the way she was looking made Alex's eyebrows furrow. "Morning sleeping beauty." Alex said, but he was very puzzled. Lucy was like clockwork; always fully awake and dressed, never dragging her precious rabbit, and and it was clear that she didn't even try to wash her face, which she always did in the morning.

However when she spoke, Alex's eyes went wide and he paled. No... no no no! Does she have a glitch?! Alex thought as he turned the stove off and walked over to Lucy so he get a good look at her eyes. On the opposite side of the house, a few peanut shells split open as peanut plants started to grow out of them and head towards a safe in Alex's closet. He had practiced it many times before; Alex had taught himself how to use his plants to open the safe and pull out the documents about Lucy, and said plants started to carry the documents towards the kitchen, but slowly.

And Alex couldn't just wait for them. "Lucy, are you feeling alright today?" he asked as he looked into her eyes and tried to remember what he should do if Lucy started to malfunction. Off the top of his head, he couldn't think of anything!

Mr. Davis was always nice to her, no matter what, something she had learned to understand and embrace. He was even kinder than she had thought when she first met him, and he always cooked breakfast for her. She really wanted to eat Schneerios for breakfast today, but she couldn't say no to a freshly-prepared breakfast from her Professor-Friend.

So kind, although he seemed to worry about her a lot, which she didn't mind because she also worried about him a lot. "Assurance: I think I'm sleepy just just need eat to something. Thank you much-GRATITUDE-very for the breakfast wonderfululululul" Definitely...odd.

With that, she slowly climbed into her chair and sat down, a sleepy smile on her face as she looked at the wonderful meal laid before her: eggs, bacon, a pancake with just a dab of butter atop, and a regular slice of bread. Mr. Davis never forgot that Lucy always coughed when she ate toast and that she really didn't like how scratchy it was, so he always made sure she had regular bread to put her jam on.

She normally would have started eating already, but today she just sat there and...stared at her meal, for a good minute or so, then she suddenly felt very woozy and even more tired. "MMMr. DADADAvis, I feEEEl-ALARMED-very straAAnge." was the last thing she said in a straining robotical tone before her eyes closed and she felt out of her chair and onto the ground.

She didn't stir or respond when prompted to do so, and she didn't show any signs of life. Almost as if on cue, Mr. Davis's scroll rang, requesting a FaceCall. It was the lead scientist who spoke the most with him on Lucy's arrival.

"Professor, we here have been alerted of Ms. Klug's condition, and I must ask you to please remain calm and follow my instructions perfectly. I understand you may be stressed, and understand that time is not an issue, but precision may be. Once you have calmed yourself, I request that you stand Ms. Klug up and tie her hair up in a manner that not only exposes the back of her neck, but also sets her hair in a manner that will expose the back of her head the best that you can. Do not cut her hair though: everything about her must remain unchanged so that her transition after this is as smooth as possible. Once you have done that, I'll need you to retrieve the device I provided you in the envelope that day, the one that looks like a screwdriver. Once you have done these things, report back to me."

Upon hearing Lucy's shuddering answer, Alex nodded but he wasn't so sure so he left the stove off and kept an eye on her for a little while has his vines continued to grow from one side of the house towards him with the files. "You sure Lucy? You aren't acting like yourself. You never come to the table in your nightgown." Alex responded as he knelt by her side to look into her eyes. That's when it happened. Lucy's voice went robotic, her eyes closed, and she fell. Alex was close enough to catch her, but she had fallen away from him and because of her great weight Alex almost didn't grab her securely enough to prevent her from hitting the ground hard. Instead she hit it lightly and Alex was sure he pulled something in his back, but that could wait. "Lucy! Open your eyes!"

Nothing. No response to his voice, him shaking her, or brushing her spilled food away from her mouth so she wouldn't choke. When his scroll rang Alex almost didn't answer it, though he grabbed it at the last second to tell whom where was on the other end of the line to not call him back. However to his surprise it was one of the scientists that had given Lucy to him. "How the heck did you find out that she's having a problem?! Is she transmitting something to you or something?" Alex demanded to know as the vines finally arrived with the envelope. Using those vines and some fresh ones Alex stood Lucy upwards and used one set of vines to hold her hair up above her head. Alex's semblance really came in handy sometimes since it gave him several extra hands when ever he needed them.

Soon Lucy was upright again, her hair was pulled up and away from her neck and back of her head, and Alex had the tool in his hand. Her hair was heavier then it should be, so Alex was wondering if her hair doubled as some sort of antenna array. "Alright, I'm ready. Now what?" Alex said into his scroll after he made sure that his scroll wouldn't lose connection.
