Speeding in her sleek black motorcycle, the eighteen year old child-prodigy swerved to the left before making a sharp turn to the right, tires skidding mercilessly against concrete as the bike shot forward in blinding speed towards Kompress Beach.

It went past the parking lot and headed straight to the sandy grounds of the beach before abruptly coming to a halt near the the water. The driver stepped off and removed her helmet, letting amber strands of hair fall past her waist.

"I'm heeere~! Where are my grimms at?" Avery hollered, dressed in nothing but a black two piece swimsuit under a red hoodie. Fastened around her waist was the holster of one of her guns, with the other strapped around her right thigh.

Taking out both weapons, she spun her golden desert eagle pistols in hand and proceeded to walk around, looking for the grimms that were reported to have been causing trouble in the beach. And after dispatching those, she could enjoy the beach all to herself, what with the winter and all~

They were Hungry. The two giant Nevermores were starving, they hadn’t had a good kill in days. Uno was leading the way over the sea searching for a good place to attack without many of those humans that had the pointy sticks and magic metal that hurt. Dos was simply following it’s elder brother while they hunted.

The two were hungry, when they spied an island and started to fly towards it. Hopefully, there were something there instead of simply animals and grimm. They wanted to taste the sweet fear that they inspired within humans again. Uno and Dos needed to feed badly.

They were in luck! There was only a single female human on one of the beaches leading to the sea. Uno dove straight at the human, while Dos circled around to attack from the woman’s back. Dos would fly in a half minute after his brother in order to attack the woman once she either dodged or if she simply remained still. Dos would alter his course in order to get at the woman from behind, and if she dodged at the last second he wouldn’t accidentally attack Uno.

Claws were extended by the two Nevermore, they were going to attempt to slash through the flesh of the woman’s legs and torso.

[Uno’s attack: 40| Dos’ attack: 40]

It was hard not to spot a Nevermore from a distance especially with their pitch-black feathers that contrasted deeply with the bluest of skies in a weather such as today. Avery stopped spinning her guns and smiled as both grimms spotted her as well with one of them taking the initiative to dive in.

Releasing her hold of the guns, they morphed into their second form - dual flamethrower gauntlets - and Avery sped forward towards the bird that was heading her way. At the last second before the claws tore through her torso she jumped up, firing the flamethrowers underneath her to use the jet propulsion recoil to push her just a little higher over the bird.  Avery pulled back her left arm. Click. The barrel of the gauntlet switched so that the flames were directed to the back of the gauntlet. With the press of the trigger, she used the back recoil to power up her punch aimed on the top of the bird's head.

Click The barrel switched to the front this time and triggered a release of raging blue flames at a point blank range to the bird's head and body. The resulting recoil automatically pushed her away from the grimm to gain a good distance from it.

However, Avery's general awareness had always been lacking which resulted in the second Nevermore's attack to her back to connect. "Ow." She staggered forward and grunted. Its claws would have completely ripped her flesh hadn't it been for her armour which protected it from the piercing strikes. Still, the blunt injury was there but nothing too serious. The back of her hoodie had ripped as well, revealing much of her bare back but fortunately saving the thin string keeping the top of swimsuit safe. It was a limited edition after all and she would've wrecked havoc had it been scratched.

Avery spun to the side and faced the second bird, her gauntlets transforming back to their gun form and showering the grimm with bullets at a close distance.

Uno, was just upon the woman when she simply vanished from it’s view. He felt something land on it, and a split second later his vision was clouded in pain. The pain was unbearable for the old Nevermore! Before anything else could happen, flames enveloped the back of Uno’s head and back. It roared in pain as the flesh beneath it’s beautiful plume of feathers blackened and burned. The feathers that made it popular with the other nevermore were completely burned off of it.

Dos, flew past the woman it’s nails plunging into her flesh. As it flew away, Dos heard something behind him before he swerved it’s course near automatically by changing the direction of it’s tail feathers. Dos, flew away from the woman as it’s brother flew off in the opposite direction of Dos. It cried as some of the bullets hit him in the back.

Uno, saw the woman land on the ground before climbing into the air. It would soar away from the woman while it and it’s brother would swoop in for another attack. It knew it was not long for the world. It needed to make this one last attack count in order to give it’s brother a chance to end the woman. Swooping at the woman’s front, uno would have it’s claws extended in order to attempt to scoop the woman up into the air with it so it could climb into the air and drop the woman.

It knew it would die due to the woman’s magic metal weapons that spewed fire and hurt badly. But it knew it needed to at least let his brother live in order to kill more humans and continue the spree of killing humans and terrorizing them

Dos, flew away from the woman and watched it’s brother fly directly at her. Seeing it’s brother continue the attack, Dos decided to swerve around and go straight for the woman as well. It saw it’s brother weakening, and it knew it’s brother wasn’t long for the world. But it knew it had to kill the woman or bad things would happen. Swooping in behind it’s brother it would mimic it’s brother’s actions in an attempt to scoop the woman into it’s claws in order to drop her from high in the sky.

As the two birds fled, Avery grunted and looked over her shoulder, trying to see how bad the rip to her hoodie was. She was more concerned of her clothing than the fact that the birds were soaring around for another set of attacks. As the weak looking one descended for a swoop attack, Avery raised both her golden pistols and held the trigger, showering the Nevermore with bullets while walking back to gain distance for precautionary measures. Hopefully that was enough to end its misery.

"What the..." Avery was genuinely surprised that as soon as she went off to the side to avoid the first bird, its brother emerged from behind and was able to catch her off-guard, its claws grabbing against her shoulder which made her wince, and dragged her off the ground. The sudden attack caused her to accidentally lose her grip on her guns. Good thing that was the trigger to transform them into their gauntlet form. "Dang you, stop ripping my jacket!" she growled and pointed her right gauntlet upward to release another jet of blue flames towards the bird's underbelly.

Soon however she found herself free falling as she was dropped hundreds of metres from above. While she would've enjoyed the view of the beach and all that, she had to finish off this bird first. With the use of her semblance, she created an ice board by her feet and manipulated it to use as her own hoverboard, giving her freedom of mobility in the air. Shifting her gauntlet back to their guns she maneouvred closer to the Nevermore, firing bullets to its head before moving to its right side and emptying her clip on its wings.

Uno, hit the first round of bullets full on before dissolving into darkness like all dead Grimm.

Seeing it’s brother fall like it did, Dos squaked in rage before flying through the dark cloud that was formerly it’s brother, it was enraged as it launched itself at her. Gripping the woman, it would fly up as high as it could as it was being pelted with flame and bullet. Higher and higher it went, in pain. All it could feel at that moment was the need to kill the woman that was within it’s claws. That need, was the only thing it wanted to do, that it lusted to do. It needed to kill the woman, it started to lose blood as it climbed higher and higher.

The woman kept pelting it with bullets, as it climbed…

Twenty-five feet….
Fifty feet…….
Seventy-five feet…………..

It had started to slow down once it hit seventy-five feet. It started to fall, as blackness filled it’s now dead eyes, the desperation of the final attack that it tried, the last wish of it’s brother was unfulfilled. It would die without doing the one thing that it’s brother wanted to do. The world faded in darkness around it. Dos, was dying and was starting to turn into black nothingness just like it’s brother. Finally, the final finalness for Grimm. Dos, started to turn into the dark cloud like it’s brother had done not even five minutes ago. The human had won, she had killed the both of them...

No thrill as usual.

Avery whistled as two birds disappeared into black ashes with just a few bullets and flames going on. She had to admit, they were a little incompetent compared to the other Nevemores she's faced before but it didn't matter. A grimm was a grimm and had to be slaughtered given the opportunity. Still on her ice board, the blonde sped down to the ground and casually hopped off, dusting her clothes - her ripped clothes - in the process. She sighed and reloaded her guns before holstering them both to allow her to take off her jacket.

She took a quick glance at all the holes and groaned, opting to tie it around her waist by the sleeves instead. She looked at her wrist watch. Still got plenty of time to clean up the remaining grimms around and still enjoy the beach. With a short stretch, Avery proceeded to walk further along the beachside, looking for more grimms to slaughter.

It had seen the woman kill the two Nevermore. The heads looked at each other as if arguing with each other about whether they should attack the amazonian that had killed their comrade. The white head wanted the woman dead for what it had done to their comrades, the blackhead didn’t want to fight her while arguing that there were more suitable prey at the large human caves where the human tribe lived. The whitehead slammed it’s head against the blackhead’s throat and told it not to be such a little sissy and that they were doing it, whether it liked it or not.

Sighing, the blackhead let the whitehead lead the body towards the woman. He knew deep down that the white head was right, and that they needed to kill the woman before she could slaughter more of their comrades. They would slither straight at the back of the woman, onto the bristling hot sand and keep their hissing to themselves. The whitehead knew what it was going to do, it wanted to eat the woman, devour her, chew her into paste before slamming her into the ground repeatedly. It wanted to destroy the woman without any mercy.

The great beast would stop, before the blackhead brought itself to the front. They would both raise into the air before, lunging forward. Both heads were coming right at the woman from opposite sides. The blackhead would let out a little hiss to make the woman focus on it, and not the whitehead.

Still strolling in the beach side, Avery frowned as she couldn't spot grimms anywhere. I thought there are a lot rampaging here? She mused, remembering the report she received. It occurred to her that perhaps she wasn't looking at the right place.

Avery came into a halt and sighed. Just when she was about to turn around, a hiss to her side caught her attention. She turned in time to see the black head of a giant snake lunging towards her and her reflex kicked in, instinctively hopping over the snake's head. Before she could take out her guns however, she felt an impact to her back -  the white one's upper head slamming hard onto her due to her position.

The impact threw her off the snake and several feet away. Placing a hand on the ground she flipped back and landed on her feet to regain her bearing before speeding forward, whipping out her guns and open fired against the white head. When she was near the snake, her weapon morphed to their gauntlet form and the barrel switched to the rear. Pulling back an arm, she pressed the trigger and used the back recoil to send a massive punch against the black head.

Click. Front Barrel. Another press of the trigger and she showered the snake with a fury of blue flames, the angle of the recoil automatically propelling her towards the white head.

Using her built up momentum, she twisted her body and sent a reverse roundhouse kick towards the white head's body.

Seeing the whitehead strike the woman, the blackhead would rush forward in order to attack it in a pincer move in order to crush her with it’s head working together with the whitehead. Upon seeing the woman, be pushed away from the whitehead upon it’s attack on her back he would stop his attack of her, before turning towards the woman.

Hearing a click, the whitehead would dodge around the bullet fire that the woman unleashed upon it. Seeing her fly towards it in order to punch him, the blackhead would attempt to dodge the head, but get hit anyways. It however would use the impact to send itself away from the torrent of flame that erupted from the woman’s hand by a mere few inches.

The whitehead would, get hit by the woman’s roundhouse kick to it’s head and would send the blackhead a look which it agreed with. They would both lunge at the woman at the same time while she’s within the air and falling towards the ground. The whitehead would reach her first, and attempt to slam her towards the blackhead.

The blackhead however, had opened it’s mouth and was attempting to either swallow her or bite into her. It was intending on snapping upon her body when it was within range of the woman’s body if she were hit by the whitehead’s nose towards it.

As expected of the smartest of the grimms, they were able to take advantage of her airborne position to strike from both sides. What Avery didn't understand though, was why the blackhead was attempting to swallow her when they should be focused on incapacitating their prey first. A though now occurred to her; she'd always wondered how it is inside a grimm.

When the whitehead lunged towards her, she pointed both gauntlets towards it and fired jets of blue flames against it at the same time propelling her at an increased speed towards the black head. She twisted her body and faced the black head to deliver a punch towards one of its fangs, breaking it off and grabbing it just as she manoeuvred her body to slip inside the black head's mouth.

"Ohh. So this is what it's like inside a Taijitu..." she murmured, grimacing at the sticky fluid stuff that helps with moving the food down. Still with the snake's fang in hand, Avery struggled against the tight space and stabbed it from the inside. She pulled it off and stabbed it again. And when she had enough of the fun, she pointed one of her gauntlets down and pressed the trigger, cooking the grimm from the inside with her flames while the recoil pushed her back up and out of the blackhead's mouth.

The whitehead would curl around the flame before the woman got swallowed by the blackhead. They looked pleased with themselves before starting to slither towards the forest, and the direction of the woman’s motorcycle. The whitehead would raise itself into the air before attempting to slam into it.

The blackhead was fuming in quiet because of the fang that the woman had broken off of it. Suddenly, the Taijitu felt something stab into it’s stomach. Not once but twice. They would start to fade as bullets rip through the darkness that made up it’s body at that moment. They had died because of their own mistake and not attempting to soften the woman up more first before swallowing it. Soon the darkness would fade and they would die for real. Nothing remained of them as the dark cloud vanished to the winds.

"Ugh. Ewwww." Avery whined just as she busted herself out from the inside of the grimm covered in all kinds of gastric juices. Remind me never to do that again. She thought to herself with a roll of her eyes as she trudged towards across the sandy beach and headed straight for the icy-cold water to bathe. Had she been any other person, she would've suffered hypothermia by now but being born as a Frost and with the help of her semblance gave her a natural affinity to the cold.

She took her time to thoroughly cleanse herself and enjoy the water while she's at it before deciding to cut it short. She swam to the shore and squeezed the water out of her hair before brushing it back. The girl reloaded her guns but this time keeping them in hand in case another grimm decided to sneak up on her and catch her off-guard while she strolled to hunt for them. To think the beach was this spacious, she silently admonished herself for always letting her guard down.

It could smell something weird mixed with the woman, as if she were slapped with the wrong side of a stinkbug. It quickened it’s pace and had arrived at the beach while the woman was getting into the water.

Looking around for something to throw, it would see one of those funny metal things that humans rode in order to move quickly. Going onto all fours, it would run to the metal thing and pick it up. With a mighty roar, the Ursa would throw the motorcycle at the woman as her back was turned. While it flew, the Ursa would run towards the woman!

Avery was by the water waist-deep when the blare of a loud yet familiar alarm reverberated throughout the beach. She jumped in astonishment and turned to the sound, only to be met with a horrifying sight. "Oh. My. God. You did not!!!" She exclaimed, seeing her beloved motorbike unceremoniously flung towards her. She sidestepped the bike but before it could crash on the sea, the water within ten metres of the girl froze, turning into ice which quickly moved onto the bike and encased it in quite a large protective spherical crystal.

She rushed towards it and circled around the sphere, looking if her baby was damaged in any way. Fortunately, the high-quality metal composition made from Atlas saved the bike from any scratches. Avery sighed. She felt like she lost ten years of her life from that horrible horrible moment and she shifted her attention to the Ursa responsible for it all.

Reloading her guns, she pointed it forward, right gun on top of the other, before pressing and holding the trigger to release a barrage of bullets which she swiped sideward, spreading the bullets in a line to minimise the chances of the beast dodging it.

Following that, she dashed towards the Ursa and jumped, flipped forward and sent the heel of her foot down against the head of the grimm. Using the momentum, she pointed down her left weapon that had morphed to its gauntlet form and sent flames on the Ursa's face, the recoil sending her over the Ursa and she landed on the ground behind it. She spun on her heel, pulled back an arm, and with the barrel switching to the rear, sent a massive recoil punch to the Ursa's backside.

Stopping and standing on it’s high legs, it would attempt to catch her by her foot while she was in mid air trying to kick it in the face. With a mighty roar it would attempt to swing the woman around it’s head like a lasso in order to disorient the woman, before attempting to throw the woman towards the sphere of ice that she had made in order to protect her precious motorcycle. He wondered if she would break the ice and slam into her precious motorcycle.

Avery raised an eyebrow just as the Ursa grabbed her leg and started to swing her around. As a lover of free-falling and fast rides, something like this wasn't enough to disorient her. If anything, she enjoyed the thrill. "Oh weee~ Ahaha! Faster! Aww.." she frowned when she was released and hurled towards the sphere of ice containing her motorbike.

Twisting her body, she aimed both flamethrowers to the ground and fired, giving her a boost up, flipping back and landing on top of the sphere with ease. She stared down at the Ursa with a smirk and moved her finger in a come-hither motion. "You want my bike, right? Come and get it~"

She hopped off the sphere and dashed forward. Nearing the Ursa, she clenched her fist and shot it forward aimed at its head, but at the last second stopped and instead pressed the trigger to release flames right into its face.

Using both the distraction and pain of her flames, she spun to its back and broke one of its spikes with a single punch, grabbing it and stabbing the structure right on the back of the Ursa's ankle. Following that she brought her foot down on its back and stomped the grimm down to the ground, morphing her weapon to guns and proceeded to shower its bum with bullets.

Feeling the pain of the stab to it’s ankle, the monster roared in even more pain. It fell forward and started to fade due to the amount of damage it had just taken. Avery spun her pistols in hand and holstered them before getting off the Ursa and walking away as though nothing happened. The first thing she did was get into the water and cleanse herself. One thing she hated about the grimms was their lack of manners. Well there was the fact that they kill people too, but who cares about that? They can't even let a girl bathe first before attacking. Rude. And don't even get her started with how they ruin her nails. Bishes couldn't understand social etiquette.

Nevertheless, the next thing Avery did was release the motorbike from the crystallized ice. She took out the keys from her holster and pressed a button, letting the bike speed away on autopilot far from the battlefield and avoiding grimms along the way.

"Now then... where are my scorpions at?" Avery murmured. It was the grimm she liked hunting the most so much so that she already learned of their possible attack patterns, weaknesses, and most effective countermeasure. The blonde strolled along the beach, looking for this specific grimm.

Avery halted in her tracks as her ears picked up the familiar sounds of scorpions scuttling. Their large size and numerous legs make it hard for them to be silent and she always found it funny how they even try to do so. She smiled at their attempt of a premeditated attack from all sides. Typical. It's the same as her past hunts. And like always, she did the one thing that used the positioning to her advantage.

Tapping a foot on the ground, an ice pillar sprung underneath, propelling her high up in the air away from harm. She released her guns's limiters and proceeded to rain high calibre bullets upon the Deathstalkers from above. As she desceneded, she coated her skin in a thin layer of transparent ice enabling her to control herself with her semblance and increase her speed by ten folds. Her guns morphed into their flamethrower form and fired behind her to propel her to the ground a few metres from the first scorpion.

Spinning on her heel, she pressed the trigger to burn its backside with her flames and angled it so the recoil pushed her all the way to the the second scorpion, with the barrel switching to the back and delivering a massive punch to one of its back legs.

Avery wasn't sure what happened whether the scorpions were taken off-guard or they were just too dumb to defend. Regardless, the job was made easier when all her attacks hit the mark. Following her recoil punch on the second deathstalker, the barrel switched to the front while her other gauntlet raised to the third scorpion which was just beside it. Both triggers were pressed to shower the two grimms in her signature blue flames.

The moment the recoil sent her back, her eyes glowed a brilliant blue, activating her semblance to turn the ground underneath the grimms into slippery ice in hopes of rendering their movement. Coming into a halt from the recoil, her weapon morphed to their gun forms and a swift swipe to the back of her waist holster was all she needed to reload them. Avy then proceeded to run around the pack at a gunslinger's distance, emptying her clip on the first and third scorpion hopefully to finish them off.

Do seemed taken completely off-guard and was actually hit in the eyes from the bullet rain, so it didn’t even see the girl come at it with a particularly powerful punch that made the bone plating crack, the fire from next attack seeping in the crack and burning out the last of its life. Poor Do…

Tri fared better at first. After the bullet rain started, it burrowed in the ground, preventing the fire and bullets that came at it after to deal any damage since it was in the ground before the sheet of ice was formed by the human, actually providing more cover to the scorpion. Aon wanted to do the same but thought too late and the frozen ground wasn’t easy to penetrate. So be it! It would use that ice pillar!

Getting to it with some difficulty, the scorpion picked it up with a pincer before realising it was way too thin to protect itself behind it. Facing the girl, it swiped its claw sideway to hit the fleshy being with the pillar in hand like a Deathstalker-sized baseball bat. Still, the human was about to shoot at it again from the sidelines, making Aon think it was done for, but of course, Aon wasn’t alone. Do was dead, but Tri was still there and underground.

With a loud ice shattering sound, the ground under the ice was bulging as the Deathstalker was tunneling under the ice toward the girl’s position and bursting out from right under her, trying to snap at her with its right pincer. Even if it didn’t work, it managed to at least temporarily stop the attack aimed at Aon, saving it’s life.

Avy Frost

Avy Frost
For a moment, Avery was glad the second scorpion succumbed to its wounds and collapsed to the ground lifeless. That's one less opponent she had to deal with. What came next however was her own ice pillar used against her like a baseball bat. What's up with scorpions and their fascination with sticks? Avy thought, recalling her previous hunt where the same thing occurred. And like before, she was pissed, annoyed at the fact that another creature used her ice without her permission. Rude.

Upon landing on the ground from the recoil of her flamethrower, the pillar wheezed towards her but the ice shattered into tiny crystals before it could do any damage. Her semblance was ice manipulation after all, anything she'd generated within reach was under her command. But her main concern was the pesky third scorpion who dug underground and charged towards her at the same time as the first one did.

Due to its speed and size, Avy couldn't fully get out of its reach even as she tried to move away. The pincer clamped around her left arm and it would have snapped it off completely if it weren't for her armour and aura. Despite the cushion of her armour, she winced at the pain and for a while panicked at her trapped state. Her gauntlet on her right morphed to their gun form and she rained bullets on the joint of the pincer holding on to her left arm hoping to release it. At the same time, her gauntlet on her left couldn't do much but trigger raging flames towards the Deathstalker's face. If those weren't enough to free her, she'd target bullets on its legs. To prevent the first stalker from taking advantage of her situation, she fired bullets at the first Deathstalker's legs as well.

Deathstalker
Level 5
Deathstalker Aon: 0/180
Deathstalker Dó: 0/180
Deathstalker Trí: 0/180

Tri was feeling resigned almost from the start. Aon always acted as the leader of the trio, with Do being the typical tagalong that doesn’t realise the leader is an idiot. Tri on its part was always the one to clean the mess, basically the brain in the group. At one point even Tri was thinking this single girl would be an easy target, but it had some doubts with how she easily dispatched the Ursa. Still, Aon rushed in as always, not thinking, so the other two followed. Now, it kinda regretted it, since it was obvious it wasn’t going to survive. Oh well, at least it managed to hurt her a little?

Tri hadn’t even started dissipating when Aon felt the bullets hit him. Actually, it didn’t even register the impacts, too stunned at the way the events unfolded. Was it its fault? Did it… bring its friend to their death? Aon didn’t even have the time to ponder more or actually feel anything – if Grimms actually feel stuff – before its body started to smoke out and its red eyes lost their shine.
