"There's a difference between being suicidal and being bored, and I'm not the former. Why are we even having this discussion, just use the device and tell me where the bloody grimms are... 700m west from my location?... Mkay, this'd be a piece of cake. Speaking of cake, make me snacks. I'll be back before tea gets cold."

And with that, Avery ended the call. Another boring weekend for the gunslinger meant going for a hunt to entertain herself and thus here she was in the woods geared up in her hunting attire of sleeveless shirt, shorts and knee-highs. As per instructions, the blonde walked to the direction of the setting sun, a hand running down to the holster strapped on her other thigh to take her golden pistol. She had to admit, this hunt was a little careless even for her, going out alone to hunt grimms an hour or two before dark.

Yet at the same time, it's been a while since she faced a challenge. Her recent hunts were all too easy that all she needed to do was pull the trigger and they just drop dead. She was hoping to catch something that'd make her run out of breath or find herself desperate. Something exciting for a change. But alas, this might just be another case of killing grimms before afternoon tea.

There wasn’t much, but he could still find some. A big advantage about Jet’s semblance was that he could feel around him with his aura to find metallic minerals, sort of like a metal detector. The range wasn’t really big but he was still able to get a bunch of them. He had realised the last time he was here that some of the rocks and boulders around him and in the ground contained raw metals ores, more specifically, galena. The black haired guy was smiling as he was shoveling away snow and frozen soil in various spots to uncover relatively big rocks. He already had a bunch in a big bag that he was dragging behind him, just like there was already a bunch of holes all around.

Footsteps broke his concentration though and he straightened back up from a comically large hole in the ground. Looking around, he spotted Avery coming toward his general area. Now it is true she and Jet didn’t have the best of first encounter, but what can he say, she grew on him somehow. Now he was perfectly aware that she was mostly annoyed by him but he was a persistent guy when he wanted someone to be a friend. So it was with a big, genuine smile that he called to her, waving a chunk of rock over his head.

Heyyyyy! Avyyyyy! Look! Galena!” The moment he got her attention, he was pointing at the rock. It really looked like a normal rock that had been chipped at with a shovel, hard to know that there was actually metal ore in there unless like Jet you could feel it with your aura. He looked particularly comical, standing to his waist in a hole in the ground, surrounded by freshly covered holes all around him. Some would question his desire to dig into frozen soil, saying he should wait in the spring when the earth was soft, but Jet’s enthusiasm wasn’t going to let him wait. Getting out of the hole, the sunglasses wearing guy put the stone in his bag and started shoveling the earth that had been accumulated on the side back in the hole to fill it up. He still did it correctly, making sure to put snow on one side and earth on the other so that he wouldn’t fill it up with snow mixed in the earth. After the soil, he put back the layer of earth that had the grass on it so that in spring it wouldn’t be a random spot of grassless earth in the ground. The forest was a pretty one in summer; it would be a shame if the place was disfigured by his digging. Jet may be enthusiastic but he was responsible… sorta.

Today was a very good day! The rainbow teacher had hit a gold mine this day, or perhaps it is better she called it a dust mine. It was a little know fact in the few in the Dust field of research that buying directly from a dust mine was the cheapest way to go about it. The big companies, such as the Schnee, tend to charge an arm and leg for shipment over a certain size and Toriera had already pushed her budget into the red zone. So she went in person to the closest dust mine to the academy and made a deal with them. True, it wasn't exactly the most legal way to go about it, but it was done and over with now.

The only thing that could have made this day better would be if it wasn't in the bloody middle of winter! Toriera hated the cold with a passion and her years away had made her forget just how cold it could get here. Dressed in a large fur jacket that cover her from the neck to ankles, she looked a flying bear go through the woods. She had chosen to use her skates this day since taking a short cut through the woods would cut her trip by half then if she had taken a vehicle. It could have been cut even shorter if she had taken an airship, but nether Haze or Alex trusted her enough to take one.

Even with all that she was still in a good mood with the deal making her hum happily as she jumped up into the tree lines again. However, over the sounds of her wheels on wood she though she could hear someone yell. After taking a moment to take a look around, she would spot the source. It seemed she wasn't alone in the woods and from of the looks of it; it was Avery and someone else. She didn't recognize the young man with the sunglasses. Still, she couldn't pass up a chance to tease one of her favorite students. With a grin Toriera drop down from her treetop highway while forming her phantom step, allowing her to slide down to the ground. "Ohh la la!" She purred coming into view of the two. "This is a long way out for romantic rendezvous isn't it, you two?" She asked in a teasing voice, while cupping her hands together and swaying side to side.

GRIMM ENCOUNTER
Grimm Type: Deathstalker
Count: 3
Level: 6
Deathstalker 1 HP: 220/220
Deathstalker 2 HP: 220/220
Deathstalker 3 HP: 220/220

What exactly did a Deathstalker do on its free time? Nothing. You know why? A Deathstalker is always looking for a helpless human to kill. It has no free time.

[OOC: Sorry, I've been rewatching The Office and I think I'm picking up Dwight's personality lol]

With the natural gift Grimm had when it came to sensing the presence of humans, this particular pack of Deathstalker's had no trouble finding prey for the day. Three humans. Not much else to be said about it. Only thing to be really done about it is what should be done to any other human. Simply to eliminate them. Not to eat, or survival, or anything even remotely close to be considered rational. Its just what Grimm did. Its just what Grimm were.

As the Deathstalkers approached the humans from a mile away. The thick woods and the distance would keep the Deathstalkers completely out of sight. Of course the crashing of trees could be heard as Deathstalkers overall lacked the finess and body to avoid each tree in their path. It didn't matter though. They were tanks afterall. Immense strength and thick armor plating made them difficult to defeat.

The Deathstalkers took a common approach of predators and began to slowly spread out around all sides of the humans as they closed in, attempting to choke them off from any escape. Not that this wouldn't go unnoticed though. Plenty of noise was made from trees being knocked down on all sides, only growing in volume as the Deathstalkers came closer and closer, moving at a surprisingly fast pace for the size of their body and all of the obstacles in the way.

As the noise their approached reached climax, 3 Deathstalkers burst through the treeline from all sides, launching torn wood and splinters in all directions. Though completely instinctive, each Deathstalker attack completely in unison, each going for a human that they surrounded, charging in with the blunt force of the side of their claw.

Amidst the deafening silence and Avery's daydreaming, a sudden loud voice made her jump and caused her heart to skip a beat. She begrudgingly turned to the sound of the noise and saw him... creep with the indoor sunglasses. "What are you, a mushroom or something? Popping out of nowhere like that!" she hissed and placed a hand over her pounding heart. "And what do you mean galena?" She grumbled and trudged towards him as she looked at the stone. Her eyebrows raised. "Ohh, it does look shiner than normal. What do they do?"

"Wait, that's not the point," she snapped out of the distraction, placing a hand on her hip. "What the hell are you doing here? Are you following me? Like a stalker. Psh, I won't be surprised, you do look the part. And how many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me Avy when you're not even m-- kyaa!"

Once again, she was caught off-guard, placing a hand over her mouth to stop her uncharacteristic scream, and glared daggers at the rainbow girl who also came out of nowhere. Perhaps Avery shouldn't have scheduled a hunt before dark; she was getting more and more paranoid. Grimms were the least of her concerns. There were creatures in the dark that're more potent and dangerous which she'd always tried to avoid. And these people popping out of nowhere was not helping.

"If I kill you here, your body won't be found. I am considering that very much," she muttered in annoyance. "Are you blind? Which part of this setup looks like a romantic rendezvous to you? If I know, it's you two who's playing around when no one's watching." She rolled her eyes.
_______

"Wait.. shhh." This time, Avery's ears picked it up. Unlike these two hunters who were trained to be stealthy, grimms especially the big ones couldn't hide their presence very well so even the most unaware of their surroundings like Avy knew they're coming.

She pulled out her other gun from her waist holster, fusing both weapons with her ice semblance to increase the damage output, in time as the scorpions burst out and charged in around them. Avery was used to this situation already and she always did one thing that'd turn the positioning to her advantage. Tapping a foot on the ground, an ice pillar shot forth underneath her, propelling her up in the air and pointed down her guns to rain bullets on the grimms from above. Letting go of her guns, they shifted to their second form, her flamethrower gauntlets, which she pointed behind her and fired, using the recoil to send Avery to the ground behind the first Deathstalker. Spinning on her heel, she was quick to aim those gauntlets to the exposed backside of the grimm and released a burst of blue flames, intending to burn the scorpion while once again, using the recoil to push her back and gain distance.

Jet Jeyson

Jet Jeyson
Avery’s surprise was pretty funny to Jet. It’s not like he was actually trying, he really was that excited about having found galena in the ground. But still, seeing the blonde girl have a jump scare was priceless and it took all his relatively small self-control not to burst out laughing at the reaction. At least he was already sporting a million-dollar smile so it was easy to hide his amusement behind his natural exuberance.

Oh what you see is mostly just normal rock but inside is a cluster of galena. Galena is basically raw lead and also contains some silver. During our last hunt together here I sensed the ores in the ground with my semblance by chance and decided to dig up some of it today. Lead is perfect to make counterweights in weapon since it’s so heavy. But it is somewhat toxic so you have to…” Jet had enthusiastically started explaining his reason to be here and answering Avery’s question about what galena is until she cut him, seemingly realising that this wasn’t actually the main point of this situation… to her at least, Jet on his side thought it was very cool and interesting facts! Oh well, to each their own.

Still, the rest of her tirade confused him somewhat. Did she really believe that he was following her? She was pretty he had to agree but he always made a point not to be creepy and stalking girls. Not like he would even try with her. Other than the personality clash between them, he got the vibe she was interested in his roommate anyway and he wasn’t going to get in between that. Then again Jet got these kinds of vibes all the time, but was only right like… one out of two times. That’s still a fifty percent probability so it wasn’t too bad!

Jet had a finger in the air, mouth open and ready to defend himself, but the arrival of the rainbow woman stopped him. Her comment was apparently even more shocking to Avery though and she was quick to deny anything, then turning it on her saying they were the ones who were romantically involved. He had to say something now. As amusing as the situation was, he couldn’t just stay silent.

Now while I wouldn’t mind learning to know and “play around” with miss RGBA color palette on wheels here, I have no idea who she is.” Turning to the woman in rollerblades, he took the time to introduce himself. “I’m Jet by the way, nice to meet you.” He then turned back to the blonde woman, gesturing toward the freshly covered holes in the ground. “And I would like to point out I was here since noon, so maybe you’re the one…” Aaaand he was cut off once again. Though he had to agree her reason to do so this time was a very good one. And here he was about to point out she was the one that popped up on him more than the other way around. Inviting him to a café to work on her weapon, popping up out of nowhere in the training room and now stumbling upon him in the forest. Only time he actually contacted her was their previous hunt together, so it was almost as if SHE was the one following him. Of course he didn’t believe it himself but he liked to tease her sometimes. But noooo, there had to be Deathstalkers, three big ones even, interrupting him. Figures. Oh well, it’s not like it was that funny of a retort.

Jet saw the giant pincer rush toward him with pretty impressive speed. Well he was expecting it so he wasn’t taken off-guard in any way, but he was currently inside a hole in the ground, so his only move opportunities were either jump out and be straight face to face with the giant scorpion and it’s charging claw, or duck and STILL be in a confined hole, an easy target for a stinger or something similar. Well, jump it was.

He was ready to take the blow but knew it was a heavy one, so he decided to cushion it with anything he had at his disposition. He could probably have used his weapon or other to get out faster and possibly dodge the whole attack but in a split moment decision, he thought the hit was actually a good opening for him. Feeling around him with his aura, Jet called to him all the galena he had accumulated in a bag. While not a semblance he could use on big, heavy objects, his power output was suffisent – barely – to bring a bunch of rocks in front of him, forming a shield and reducing the impact on himself.

The moment the pincer got through the temporary shield and caught him in the stomach, Jet let loose his weapon and had the heavier tip fly straight toward one of the eyes of the Grimm. Hit or not, Jet waited for the blow to send him backward, a small frown on his face from the pain of the impact. As he was flying through the air, he saw a few bullets rain down on the thing with great impact, probably Avy’s guns. He couldn’t see if there was any damage from it but it should have distracted it some.  The sunglasses wearing guy flicked his wrist, creating a wave-like motion in the chain that, when it reached the tip, made the whole weapon catch around the pincer. There wasn’t enough momentum to do any damage though, it was just so he could get a hold to reel himself in at an impressive speed and land a kick at the side of its head and jump backward again to get some distance.

The weapon uncoiled itself from the heavily armored pincer and was quickly swung overhead by its wielder. The sharp blades of metal slammed on the back of the Deathstalker, Jet trying to score a hit where the mask and spine armor joined before retracting his weapon quickly so it couldn’t be caught by his opponent.

It seemed Avery didn't enjoy her little showboating all that much. Even giving a semi-threat of nobody ever finding the bodies in the woods. "Ooooooooooh, so scary!~" She said playfully adding a little shake to her body as she did it. It wasn't very teacher like of her, but for some reason Toriera always found a joy in finding ways to mess with this one. It also seems that these two know each others as well, but that really wasn't any or her business. That is, unless this was really something kind of meeting, then that would be some jucily gossip. "Oh my dear, little Av, you should know me better than that by now. If I was having a fling, then you know I wouldn't hide it." She said before looking toward the young man with sunglasses giving him a playful wink. "Secrets and lies only equal trouble in the long run."

Letting the two go about their little fight Toriera weighted her options. Either to leave the two to their little fun here or head on back home to do, well nothing really. She was curious what the blonde was doing this far out at this time of night, as the hours the students were a allowed to hunt was quickly closing, not that she though AV would care about something like that. From the look of the guy he had been excavating all day from the look of all the holes in the grounds. Taking a closer look at the rocks Toriera scarf a bit. "Is that galena?" She asked before looking at all the other rocks. "Ohhh, then that mean there might be sliver around too." The gears began turning a bit as she try to think if it the sliver would be wore digging out, if there was any to find at all.

Sadly Toriera would never get that far into her though as she felt the ground begin to shake just after Av told them to be quiet. It didn't a trained Hunter to know what was coming. Either a lot of Grimm's or a really big one! Or maybe that three really big ones. Now Toriera might be a teacher at the Academy to train futures Hunter and Huntress, but that didn't mean she herself was a Huntress. "Damn it Avery! Why didn't you say something about a hunt!" She yelled just before the Deathstalkers busted from the tree for their attacks. As big and powerful as they are, she was still far faster. As the pincer came at her Toriera quickly put pressure on to her skates causing the wheels to grain and spark on the ground before launching her straight up into the air. Using her semblance Phantom Step she would hang upside down in the air as she watches the giant claw sling by where she once had stood. One good hit from one of those and she might not be getting back up ever again.

Already she could hear the sound of combat beginning as Avery and the guy named Jet started fighting. She on the other hand wanted to just leave. She wasn't a fighter, she taught others how to use dust to fight with. Not the to use it herself! Still...Feeling the scar on her neck and side begins to burn she quickly kicked off of her own platform back toward one of the last of the Deathstalkers. Spinning she would make a front flip before bring her heel down on the Deathstalker head. While at the same time using the fire dust to to turn her attacking foot into a fireball. Dropping down to the ground Toriera would then quickly rush under the belly of the beast once again using the fire dust in her skate to stomp the ground. There causing a pillar of flame to lunch up at the Deathstalkers belly.

Using her speed once more Toriera would skate out from under the backside of the Grimm's putting a good few meter between her and it before using her semblance again. This time, however, she placed it right in front of herself, causing her to turn invisible to anyone that looked her way. True, she didn't like to fight grimm and that she rather just train the others to do it. She wasn't about to sit back and just watch. Even she could do a little to help in a fight.

GRIMM ENCOUNTER
Grimm Type: Deathstalker
Count: 3
Level: 6
Deathstalker 1 HP: 90/220; Burned
Deathstalker 2 HP: 85/220
Deathstalker 3 HP: 150/220; Burned

Through natural instinct, the Deathstalkers jumped back as the humans began their counterattack. Putting distance between themselves and the humans, the Deathstalkers also raised their claws as a large, hard shield to block the majority of incoming attacks.

The bullet storm fired by Avery tore at the Claw shield of Deathstalker and actually ended up somewhat penetrating its defenses [-45 HP]. The suppression of gunfire made Deathstalker 1 slow to react as Avery maneuvered herself behind it. Exposed, Deathstalker 1 took the full blast of heat [-85 HP]. On top of that, it was also inflicted with a burn status [Burn Status]. It wasn't enough though, and the Deathstalker still hadn't gone down. Still engulfed in the blue flames, Deathstalker 1 brought its claw around, bringing its claw through the flames striking at Avery.

Deathstalker 2 got unlucky as a few of Avery's bullets shot through an opening in the Claw shied, and directly struck at openings in the bone-like armor [-85 HP]. Jet's pierce attack would be blocked by Deathstalker 2's claw shield and barely did any damage against it [-5]. The kick to the head of Deathstalker 2 would also be blocked by the same means, allowing the Deathstalker to completely avoid damage. The final slash attack by Jet however managed to make it over the defense of Deathstalker 2 and scored a solid hit on it [-45 HP]. Claws still raised in a protective wall, Deathclaw 2 quickly jabbed at Jet with its stinger with speed that was extremely misleading at for its side, intending to strike at the Hunter while his weapon was still extended.

Deathstalker 3 managed to completely avoid Avery's gunfire by moving backward. Deathstalker 3 also managed to block Toriera's initial weapon attack, raising its claws to counter. It was unable to guard against the Fire Dust attack which provided a sort of splash damage that managed to get around the claw shield [-35 HP]. The Fire attack also momentarily blinded the Deathstalker, giving Toriera enough time to maneuver under it and strike it with another flame attack, which completed consumed Deathstalker 3 in flames, both injuring it and inflicting it with a burn status [-35 HP + Burn Status]. Deathstalker 3 followed Toriera's as she tried to put some distance between herself and chased after her, using its massive scorpion body to run over Toriera. Even as Toriera used her semblance to hide her appearance, Deathstalker 3 didn't stop charging her, assuming she must have hid somewhere among the trees. Its solution was to knock everything in the area down.

Avery was actually already at a gunslinger's distance away from the first Deathstalker as the moment her flames hit its backside, the recoil automatically propelled her away. Due to this, she had the liberty to reload her guns and fire at the burning scorpion's eyes at it charged towards her with its claws. At its state, the blonde knew it wouldn't be long till it perished. And if her bullets didn't seal the deal, she let the scorpion get in closer just as she shifted the guns into their flamethrowers.

Click. The barrel switched so the flames were produced to the back of the gauntlet. Ducking and barely dodging the scorpion's claw strike, she took the opportunity before it could retract its claw to pull back her arm and trigger her flamethrower, using the back recoil to increase power to her punch aimed on the underside of its pincer joint. The impact would have crushed the bones on her hand had the gauntlets' design not covered all the way to her knuckles.

Now then, that should've finished it off. Maybe. She jumped backwards nonetheless and focused on the other Deathstalkers, particularly the burning one currently knocking down trees. Wait, did she burn it and ran off?! She thought in exasperation as she couldn't see the dust teacher anywhere. At least the shades guy had the decency to stay and was actually doing quite a good job with the other scorpion.

The female dog better have an explanation. Avery grumbled as ground beneath her turned into ice and she sped forward, creating an ice floor on her path and she skated along its surface towards the grimm. Turning her weapon back to guns, she rained bullets at the scorpion's legs on its right side, before expanding her ice floor to include the ground directly underneath the scorpion, hoping to make it lose its leverage. She planned to hop over the grimm, but figured it wouldn't be a good idea to ride a burning scorpion so she opted to manoeuvre to its backside and fire bullets at it.

Battle Log:

Jet Jeyson

Jet Jeyson
The fight around him seemed to be going nicely. Avery’s first round of bullet rain did its work and even weakened his own opponent. “Thanks Av!” He didn’t think she heard him in anyway but he still shouted it. Cause… why not? The rainbow woman had made some pretty flashy-fiery strikes that made Jet somewhat pale. He did NOT want to be close to that much Dust burning away at everything. Hell, water dust already burned his skin from his allergy, let’s not add to it and make it fire Dust!

His observation was cut short though as the Deathstalker decided to stab at him, something he expected would be happening sooner or later and he had to agree that he gave that opening right now. Still, he was expecting it and already had a plan for when it happened.

The stinger was coming very fast. As an attack that was standard with Deathstalkers it was somewhat predictable, but it was coming in much faster than he had anticipated and it was Jet’s old martial arts reflexes that prevented him from being hit. Since a stinger stab is a very straight forward motion coming in a straight line from an obvious point, it isn’t so hard to dodge. In this case the human side stepped to the right quickly in a practiced motion as if dodging a punch in a fight, admittedly a very large punch. This made the stinger miss him just barely and Jet only got hit by a mild breeze from the displaced air. The dodge was still too close for him though and his eyes widened as his vision was completely blocked by the Grimm’s appendage.

His weapon was still in motion toward him, being reeled in, but Jet stopped the mechanism and activated his semblance at the same time. The chain’s motion quickly altered sideway to wrap around the stinger. His semblance only used to transfer the already considerable momentum in a different direction so the heavier tip would strike the tail as hard as any attack while the smaller blades would cut and scratch at whatever part they attached themselves to. There was no way Jet could stand his ground the moment the Deathstalker retracted its limb so he ran toward the legs and slid under them, giving the last one a kick in the joint for good measure. Should the chain hold true on the stinger and should the Deathstalker actually pull hard, the blades would bite in those legs hard, possibly even slice them off. The relatively very small human would be dragged and probably flung off in the process but that wasn’t an issue to Jet… at the moment.

Toriera

Toriera
Well, it seemed the fire only help to piss the Deathstalker off even more. Who would have guessed? Even Toriera herself was a bit surprised at how well her attack had worked against the target. It had been a very long time since she went up against a Grimm of this size, and that was always with a trained Huntress by her side. Now alone and staring at the sheer size of the beast before her brought a whole new respect for these kids she was teaching. People who willingly take up the task of training and fight these monsters was either truly brave or truly stupid. If that was the case just where did that put her right now?

That would make her even dumber than the others as it appeared neither of the other two needed her help at all. Avery with her flames and raining bullet death upon the other Deathstalker. It made her wonder why the girl, even bother with her Dust class if she could fight like this without it. Even the Mr. I wear sunglasses at night was holding his own with his crazy weapon. Some kind of chain weapon that looked more insane, then difficult to use. Back to her own fight Toriera could feel her heart literally beating in her throat after her own little dance with the Grimm, but it was too late to run now.

Maybe hiding wasn't the best idea in the world as the Deathstalker was still rushing right at her. She had hoped that her sudden disappearing act might confuse it or something, but instead it was just going to destroy anything and everything in its path. She would have done the same thinking about it now. This gave her little time and options as to what to do. Going left or right would place her right in the path of its legs and going under would be no better. That left her with only one way left and she really didn't like it at all. Powering up her skates once more she would rush out of her hiding right at the Deathstalker and tried to jump over it. Because of the short amount of time she had Toriera only managed to make it halfway before colliding with it. Using her aura Toriera was able to damping the hit, but it still hurt like hell as she flows toward the Deathstalker back.

With a swing of her leg to both regain her balance as well as active her dust to keep the flames from burning her she landed on the thing stoney back. Toriera could only grunt as she felt the pain rush down her left shoulder that had hit the Grimm head on. She had lost most of the feeling in it, that could be good or bad news. Either would have to wait till this thing was death to see for sure. Right now was not the time to sit about as she was out of the frying pan and literally in the fire now. To make matters worse, her beloved student was now also shooting at the Grimm back, right where she was now!

"Avery! Watch where you're aiming!"
She yelled before skating out the way toward the back of the Grimm, toward its tail. As she skated across the armor of the Grimm her skate would glows a blight red as she used the last of her dust. Upon reaching the tail Toriera would release the last bit of her dust causing all the flames to launch up all around the Grimm makings a giant fireball before imploding onto itself. Washing fire over every bit of the Deathstalker body while she herself jump off toward the icy ground below. However, rather than land in her normally graceful manner Toriear soon found herself on the ground thanks to her hurt arm and low power of her skates before sliding across the ice in to the snow.

"I don't get paid enough for this Sh*T!" she yelled from the snow.

GRIMM ENCOUNTER
Grimm Type: Deathstalker
Count: 3
Level: 6
Deathstalker 1 HP: 0/220
Deathstalker 2 HP: 40/220
Deathstalker 3 HP: 10/220; Burned

Deathstalker 1 was able to block Avery's initial bullets with one of its claws, but was open to her melee attack, taking full damage from it (-85 HP). On top of this damage, the flames from earlier only continued to wear down Deathstalker 1 (-5 HP), eventually finishing it off.

Even though Jet managed to sidestep Deathstalker 2's pierce attack, the scorpian Grimm had a counter to it, spinning its body at a speed decievingly fast for its side, with it, bringing its tail, which just barely missed Jet, around at Jet intent on not taking only him out, but also everything in a large arc around it. Due to this, Deathstalker 2 managed to avoid getting its tail wrapped by Jets weapon, but it still did take some damage from Jet attempting to attack it beforehand by his weapon striking at some of the visible joints in the tail as both the tail and weapon came into contact (-45 HP). Also because of this attack, approaching Deathstalker 2 by foot would not be possible without stopping the tail attack.

Deathstalker 3 was not paying attention to Avery and as a result, took her initial gunfire to the back of its legs (-85 HP) and continued to burn as it did (-15 HP). Instinctivly, Deathstalker 3 spun its body around, shielding itself with it's oversized claws, blocking the next barrage of gunfire. At this point, believing it had managed to have completely dealt with Toriera, Deathstalker 3 averted its attention to Avery, charging her with its claws raised in front of itself as a shield. Back to Toreria, it was completely open to her flame attack (-35 HP) which only added to the intensity of the flames that were currently consuming it (-5 HP).

In the middle of firing bullets against the burning scorpion, Avery heard a familiar voice and was visibly surprised to see the dust teacher emerge from out of nowhere... literally this time. She stopped firing and blinked at rainbow girl's rather sloppy execution of attack followed by an unceremonious landing on the ground. "Um... are you okay?" she mumbled as she proceeded to move towards the teacher to help her up from the ice floor... only to be interrupted by the Deathstalker charging towards her head on.

Forming a thin layer of ice beneath her shoes, she was able to use the ice floor beneath her to skate her backwards while whipping out her guns to empty the remaining bullets against the scorpion. She clicked her tongue as it didn't penetrated through its armour plating, not to mention she was finally cornered feeling her back against the bark of a tree. Ah well. Pity she couldn't curve her bullets. But there is one thing she could easily manipulate.

Avery holstered both guns and raised a hand in front of her, immediately spawning countless ice blades in the air. With a clench of her hand, the blades shot towards the Deathstalker, parting around it to stab it from both sides and from above.

There was no way Jet could dodge that thing from point blank range, and Jet was taken completely off guard by the sudden acceleration of the stinger toward him. Thankfully, he only got the side of the tail hit him, not the actual pointy part, so no impaling for him today, even if his aura would have protected him anyway. He didn’t just get hit though, the hunter student had good reflexes and the moment he was hit, he gripped the stinger. Activating his semblance, Jet made his chain wrap around the base of the yellow part of the tail, what he assumed to be the weakest part, blades all in a position to cut deep in the Grimm’s flesh. Once it was in place, Jet let go of the tail that was still moving, thrown away like a rock from a slingshot. His weapon unfurled to the max it could and stopped suddenly, his backward momentum tightening the noose on the tail in a very sharp and powerful way, possibly cutting the whole thing off.

Cut or not, Jet swung his arm to dislodge the chain from the tail and slam it on the Deathstalker back. Even if the white part of its body was stronger and the Grimm might not be damaged from it, his chain would still easily catch on the ridges of the spinal armor. Jet was quite high up in the air after being launched by the tail, so the gravity plus the reeling of his chain made him approach the Grimm at a frightening speed. As he got close, he swung his body to land a hammer kick on the Deathstalker’s head with all the force of the downward fall increased by the fast reeling of his chain.

The moment his kick landed, the black haired guy jumped off and away from the Grimm, his weapon completely coiled around his forearm again. At a safe distance, he grabbed his foot that he just used to kick the very solid Deathstalker head and began jumping on one foot to keep his balance. “Owowow! That felt like kicking concrete! At least I heard a crack so maybe I did enough damage to finish it off… I just hope it wasn’t my foot…” Still nursing his foot as he talked to himself, Jet looked around to see how the others were doing. With both the other Deathstalkers being either dead or literally on fire, Jet guessed they didn’t need his help.

Toriera
Laying on the ground all Toriera could hear of the last of the fighting, dying down, the shouts of the male yelling about his foot and the smell of burning Grimm and plant life. It would never cease to amaze Tori how quickly a day could turn sour. Rising to a sitting position the woman couldn't help grabbing her own shoulders as she felt the adrenaline leaving her body and chill of the cold night air resurface. This of course caused her to wince in pain from her shoulder.

"I think...I think I broke it." She said the first time almost in a whisper as her finger danced over the shoulder. Not there wasn't anything broken, or majorly, or dislocated. Which meant it was either very, very sore or at worst a hairline fraction. With the worst out of the way Toriera flame lit up once more as she started waving her good arm around in a closed fist. "What the hell it up with you!? Who goes hunting for Deathstalker at this time of day? Are you trying to get yourself killed?" She was practically yelling at this point, but she already knew the answer. Out of all the students she knew this one didn't need worrying about.

However, there was the other one which caught her eye during the fight. Such an odd weapon to use she thought thinking back on it. During her time at other Academy she has never really seen another like it. In all honesty, it looked impractical for her, but then again, she was much of a weapon user. "Your friend wasn't half bad Avery. Well, maybe beside for that last kick. The skull a lot harder than you think!" She called out at the last part. "Best remember that for next time.

Deathstalker 2 HP: 0/220

Deathstalker 2 was left completely open for Jet's next few attacks. It's stinger was completely cut off followed by Jet's weapon as well as the bony armor on the back of the Deathstalker was completely cut through, which effectively tore right through the flesh of the of the Deathstalker (-45 HP) and killed it.

With the scorpion in front of her shredded to pieces, Avery glanced at the last grimm but deemed it unnecessary to lend a hand since Shadies was able to finish it off with a hammer kick. It would've been perfect but he just had to ruin it with a slapstick finish. Avery sighed. A hunter who hurt his own foot trying to look cool and a teacher who flopped on the snow and injured her shoulder. What is going on with Syne's curriculum?

Since the professor was closer to her she decided to approach her first. She stopped in front of rainbow girl completely invaded her privacy by tugging open her fur coat and pulled the top back to take a good look at the latter's shoulders. "Hmm, doesn't seem like it's broken." Avery murmured as she poked the shoulder along the lines of the teacher's scar. "And there's no internal bleeding either. Still, you should get it checked just in case."

From a small pocket on the belt of her holster she took out a pack of pills, splitting it to two and gave one to the professor. "They're for pain, not whatever you're thinking of," she added almost predicting what the latter was thinking. She always had pain relievers with her before going on a hunt for they were especially useful in the event of an injury.

At the mention of her 'friend', Avery raised an eyebrow and followed the teacher's gaze with her own which landed on shades guy. "Who, him?! I've seen kids use yoyo more threatening than that." Avery rolled her eyes. "Also, he's not my friend so feel free to add him to your boy toy collection or whatnot. Whatever. I don't care. I'm off to hunt a bit more before I call it a day. Bye now."

And with that Avery turned to leave. But just as she passed by the the guy in sunglasses, she casually grabbed his hand and placed the other half of the pack of pills on it before walking away.

Well, it was over. The remaining Deathstalkers were dissipating in the air as if they were never there at all. Jet was tentatively trying to stand on his foot, the pain lessening gradually. There didn’t seem to be any swelling so he was sure it was fine, just pain.

Looking at the two girls, Jet saw that the colorful one seemed to have hurt herself badly enough on the shoulder. He started to make his way toward them, only slightly wincing when putting his foot down. At the woman’s mention of his last kick, he simply shrugged with a smile. “Meh, I know I hurt it more than I hurt myself with that move. Besides, the pain is already fading some.” Jet lifted his foot to poke at it a little. It was tender but not agonisingly so.

He was still aware of the conversation around him, making him react to a few of the words. “Yoyo?... Boy toy?” Still, before he could say anything about it, the blonde girl who apparently wasn’t his friend slapped a bunch of painkillers in his hand and walked away without a word. “Oh, thanks.” Well that was at least somewhat friendlier than he expected so… yay improvement!

When she was gone, Jet looked at the rainbow girl and shrugged. “Well, that was fun. I don’t think I caught your name? But anyway, we should grab a beer someday, you seem cool. Right now though, I want to get off that foot as soon as possible so I’ll be going. See ya!

Moving back to her feet Toriera more than happily take the painkiller. Popping them into her mouth along with a handful snow to help wash them down. However, before she can really say a word to either Av or the one with sunglasses to two quickly leave her alone in the snow.

"What...that...hell...happen!" She said looking around before wincing in pain. "I better go get this checked out." She said as she took off her belt and use it as a homemade sling. After warping herself back up with her fur coat she quickly went on her way back to the city. A bit faster this time as she wanted to beat the dark.
