There was a mad hustle at the edge of Syne's campus on this cool summer morning. Academy employees in blue-green workman's coveralls dashed this way and that, calling out orders and replies to orders as they busted their humps to prepare the skyport pier for the airship coming in today. Yet another new batch of students had enrolled, and they were just now arriving, pretty much in the middle of the year. The whole thing was short notice to the nth degree, leaving the workers in charge of receiving the new kids scrambling like chickens without heads. From afar, the whole thing undoubtedly looked extremely dysfunctional.

On the horizon, just in front of the sunrise, was a winged hulk of white and black metal, seeming to glide effortlessly through the air. Its hull was beautifully immaculate. No dents or tarnish or rust. It was like it was brand new. The bird lacked propellers or rotor blades, its wings instead rowing back and forth like a pair of flippers. Chances were good that Dust provided most of the actual power which allowed the craft to soar like it did. Slowly, the airship closed the distance between itself and the pier, extending a ramp as it drew closer. There was a dull clang and a gaseous hiss when the ramp locked into the pier, and then the door slid open, allowing the students to disembark.

One person in the crowd seemed to have a great deal of difficulty keeping his balance as he stumbled down the length of the ramp, before allowing himself to collapse on his knees when he was off the pier. The student- a young, muscular man with wild, spiky brown hair tied back into a waist-long ponytail -quickly began dry-heaving, as if he were sick to his stomach and going to throw up. But nothing came of it, and eventually his heaving devolved into violent coughing. "God, I hate flying..." The man grumbled, regaining his composure and looking up from the ground to see his new home.

The sight of the castle which served as Syne Academy's main building left him speechless. The sun reflected off its white walls in such a way that it looked like it had been built from fine crystal, as opposed to stone. The overall style of the architecture reminded him of the fancier buildings back home, in Vale: grand and gothic. Something out of a fairy tale. It was certainly a change from the streets. Rising to his feet, the wild-haired man brushed some dirt off of his white jeans and reached over his shoulder to check if his weapon was still in the rectangular sheath strapped to his back. He smiled when his fingertips brushed against hardened rubber. His hand then shifted to the other shoulder, finding the cracked leather of an old guitar case with its touch. For good luck.

"Well... Guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be." He said to himself, taking in a deep breath as if to psyche himself up for his first day at Syne. His first day as an official Hunter, or at least a Hunter-in-training. Unable to put it off any longer, Freddie began walking across the courtyard, his bright red shoes slapping noisily against the white stone walkway beneath their soles. As he walked, his dark brown eyes remained focused on the castle before him.

As student after student left the airship one blackish brown haired male wearing a Arabian Assassin sort of outfit ( not good at describing it but it's what my avatar is wearing but not pixelated )stepped out not admiring the stunning beauty of the complex crystal castle but the weapons of his piers, silently judging their personality's based one what they fought with.

"UGH! just a spear that's nothing special and EEEWWW is that a club what is this the stone age" He thought to himself as we surveyed the surrounding students. Most base weapons he found boring and even some complex weapons have trouble catching his interest sometimes although he did find some good ones in the bunch "Shotgun that looks to shoot trip mines - impressive and look a flame rapier and OH MY GOD IS THAT A CRYSTAL BUSTER SWORD!!!!"

Upon getting lost in others weapons he bumped into and knocked over a faunist girl. "O-k maby i should watch wear i'm going" He said to himself as he helped the girl up and went on with his walk "After one last scan" He Said as he looked quickly over the crowd while a one in particular caught his eye. It was a normal rectangular sheathe...yet something about it intrigued him he hadn't a clue why though.

His curiosity getting the better of him he found himself approaching the figure "umm... Hi!" he said in a curiously confident voice

Rechazo Removed the blade of his kusarigama from the top of the airship he had "hitched a ride" on, uncaring of the damage made to the vehicle. He  had spent the entire journey stood on top of the airship, simply because he hadn't felt like speaking to anybody on board, and why should he, he decided. 'They're probably all faunus haters anyway' he had told himself repeatedly. It irked Rechazo slightly to know he would eventually have to work with some of them.

Preparing to leap off of the huge, flying, metal monstrosity he paused, seeing some brown haired guy plow straight into some faunus chick. Rechazo had to reign in his anger at this, but softened a bit when the male helped the girl up. 'So he's not anti-faunus, just clumsy, or stupid' he decided. Bracing his legs with aura so he didn't break them, he leaped off of the airship, his legs glowing purple as he descended.

He hit the ground and rolled, preventing dust from kicking up around him, so as not to draw attention to himself. That was something he could do without. He noted, somewhere in his mind, that the weapons visible to him were very diverse, and (hopefully) suited their wielders. Looking around briefly, he noticed another young man, again with brown hair, walking towards the crystalline academy building with a look of utmost confidence on his face. 'Maybe not all of them are that bad, if they are even half as capable as he looks' Rechazo assumed. He was about to give the subject more thought, when he noticed the "stupid" brown haired male approach the serious one, obviously intent on making contact somehow. 'This oughta be good, I should watch this' he thought as he moved closer to listen to the incoming conversation, and yet, he couldn't keep the slight smirk off of his face as another unbidden thought popped into his head. One that took him by surprise.

'Maybe I've found some future friends'

The brown haired male paused his greeting for a brief moment. Someone was watching him, he could tell that much from his aura. He glanced back for a brief second and noticed the Faunist (at least i think your character is one) boy watching him but it was no matter to him at the moment. "Sorry about that" he continued to the his newly found aqantice "I was just wondering about your weapon I mean the sheathe looks pretty normal- well not exactly normal I mean other sheathes are rectangular and all but they have like a pointy bit plus most sheathes are metal or leather or something and from a mile away I can tell that is rubber soooo...... can I see it" he asked in a very quick manner.

Sidono was still on the airship when he saw the strange figure jump off. He knew the students at this school were strange, but not this strange. So in order to show off as well he leaped off in a manner that almost looked like it should be recorded in history. Before he landed he used his enhanced reflex buff of as he called it "Cat Sences" so he could land like a cat. He turned around to see the many people looking in amazement, but instead saw not even one person looking his way. So he just brushed himself off and walked towards the entrance, and to his amusement he saw a human talking to a faunus. So he went over there and demanded that he walk away from the faunus girl. "HEY!!! Filthy human, what do you think your doing talking to our kind!? You and your human friends can go else where, someplace that I won't smell your putrid kind." Sidono then unhooked his double headed scythe and moved in between the faunus girl and the human.

Rechazo faintly noted the cat faunus shouting at "stupid boy" shrugging it off as a personal argument, although it had caused him to lose sight of the capable looking young man. His attention was, however, recaptured when the cat faunus unclipped a double headed scythe and place himself in between the boy and the faunus girl.

'That idiot is going to give faunus a bad name' Rechazo growled in his mind as he raced towards the cat faunus already holding his kusarigama, chain in one hand scythe in the other (here is a picture of a general kusarigama for you) As It Began (Open) 130_1_4-Photo Rechazo arrived at the scene spinning the scythe end on the chain next to him, glaring at the cat faunus, he spoke two words.

"Leave. Now"

"Great more people yelling" he thought to himself as yet another weapon was out and another student stepped into to what was a simple accident/apology situation but if course it's suddenly a big deal because a human and a faunist were involved. "WHY CANT WE JUST LIVE IN PEACE" he thought wanting to scream it out so badly but instead just sighed and took different actions. Kurai gently put each hand on both of the unsheathed weapons and lowered them slowly "Lets leave violence out of this OK guys it was just an accident no need to kill each other over it the grimm are the enemy not each other lets just continue our day like this never happened". He prayed to himself he said the right thing and this could end, he was never a people person and this was not helping.

Oliver Balcross

Oliver Balcross
Oliver’s figure could be seen perched on a bench not too far off from the Faunus commotion. He lifted his head up. Slowly turning his gaze to the riff-raf as he stood up and slowly marched over with his hands behind his back to hide his Faunus heritage. “I suppose it’s rather common for people to not like each other due to. Common Mishaps. But please. For the sake of the Faunus. Try not to be such a, brat. For lack of a better word as it were. It wears on our reputation.” Oliver calmly states, as he stands with a straight back in front of the small group. A beaming smile spread across his face. “Let her mingle with who she wants. She is just as capable as you or me of defending herself if the need arises I’m certain. Besides. I’m fairly certain everyone around is a student of this academy. So as a fellow Huntsman in TRAINING. It’d be common courtesy to… Warm up to peoples interests.” Oliver takes in a breath, straightening his back and resting his left hand against his axe behind his back in case anything funny threw down. "I don't mean to come across as rude or ignorant or anything. I just simply wish to say It'd be wise if you wish for the Faunus/Human Relationship to become more positive. That you refrain from saying anything rash."

Jace Reaver

Jace Reaver
"Well. This probably won't end well," another student said to himself, watching the whole spectacle from a relatively safe distance. The student, Jace, had noticed the commotion when he saw someone run into a faunus girl, which he's figured was an accident, and thought nothing of it. If it hadn't been for the second faunus who had actually yelled at the human, and then drawn his weapon, Jace probably would've just continued into the academy, hopefully find somewhere nice and cool to sit for a little.

Unfortunately, that would have to wait, since Jace's conscience wasn't about to let him walk away from a potentially dangerous confrontation. So,after a few seconds of mentally arguing with himself, he made his way a little closer to the incident, his long, light blue duster swaying a bit in the light breeze as he did so. He stopped a little bit away from where Oliver stood, arriving in time to hear him try to talk the scythe-wielding faunus down from violence, though from the way he was glaring at the student in the assassin garb, Jace doubted that he was going to back down that easily. "Probably best I stay quiet and just observe," Jace thought to himself, putting his hands into his pants pockets. He could've just as easily put them in his duster's pockets, but this way, he could quickly grab and draw the two pistols strapped to his hips.

Hopefully he wouldn't have to, though.

All of these people were trying to end the confrontation peacefully, but why? That's what he couldn't understand. They didn't owe them anything, so why bother? But now Rechazo had gone and gotten himself in the middle of a mess, exactly not what he wanted to do. He realized now that either both of them would walk away, or only one would, depending on the cat faunus's reaction. 'Ugh dammit, people had to have seen me now' and indeed they had, as a decent sized crowd was gathering around them. So there he was stood, protecting two people he didn't know. His salamander tail twitched with adrenaline and annoyance, jerking left to right in the air behind him.

Could the situation be salvaged? Would they be able to talk the cat faunus down? Rechazo was unsure. But still, he wasn't the best negotiator. but perhaps... "Oliver, was it? Please try talking him down, I don't wanna fight this out" Rechazo didn't like asking for help, but social skills were not his strong point. He switched to swirling the scythe end of the kusarigama above his head, aware that nobody was close enough to get hit by it.

"Please just step down and walk away!" He growled at the cat faunus.

"Because if you don't ... I'll kill you"

"Hey hey, whoa! That's a bit unnecessary, don't you think?" Jace said upon hearing Rechazo threaten the cat faunus with death. "Well frick, looks like I'm involved in this debacle now," he thought to himself.

"Look, let's all just stop, take a deep breath, and go about our days, okay?" Jace really didn't want anyone to get hurt over what he assumed to be a simple misunderstanding. "Nobody has to get hurt right now. I say we all just cool off and go our separate ways okay? Put away the scythes, and just walk away." Jeez he hated when he had to try and talk someone down from violence. Jace loved a good fight as much as the next guy, but he was greatly concerned that Rechazo and the cat faunus really were going to kill each other, and the guy in the assassin garb was going to get caught in the middle.

And that wouldn't end well for any of them.

Sidono looked around and seen that he was drawing a crowd, this wasn't part of the mission and he tried to get away without being seen. He quickly unfolded his scythe named "Obitus" As It Began (Open) 2j2suio and started to devise a plan to disappear. "Hey humans why are you looking at me when there is a teacher right there." Hoping that they would look away he quickly wipped up a cloud of dust and escaped. He only left a token that he was there, he left a ball of yarn. As Sidono ran he thought that even the faunus are more accepting of the humans, he can't deal with the thought of humans and faunus living together it made him sick and angry to think that after all the abuse the faunus suffered that they still want to be treated badly and still accepted by the humans.

"Huh...well that went better than I expected..." Jacecouldn't help but feel a growing sense of unease. That faunus was going to be trouble, he was sure of it. "Nah, you're just getting worked up over one bad experience," Jace then mentally replied. He was probably just letting his paranoia get the better of him, as usual...but what if he wasn't? What if that faunus really was going to be trouble in the future?

Best to keep an eye out for him, just in case.

"Well... that just happened" Rechazo said, although he did think the getaway was cool. He's gonna be trouble, maybe next time I'll kill him, save myself the future trouble" he mumbled, hoping nobody heard him. Spinning a full 360 degrees Rechazo raised his voice "There's no more trouble here so move along".

Rechazo turned to Jace, wrapping the chain of his weapon around his torso with the scythe end in a holster at his waist. "Thanks for helping. My name's Rechazo, a salamander faunus and proud of it" he said, flicking his purple salamander tail over his shoulder to prove a point. "So, now that you know my name, mind tellin' me yours?

Kurai was honestly stunned throughout this entire event just watching how quickly everything went by as he saw the cat faunus whip up a cloud of dust and dash away. He almost wanted to run and hide himself, between the crowd, the racial dispute, and having to need two other people to stand up for him for it all to end it was agony for someone with little social skills such as himself. "ummm" he said still barely able to comprehend what he just caused "Thanks for the help and everything". Then he remembered the faunus girl was still there, looking back at her she seemed just as dazed as he was. She obviously didn't expect this big of a scene to take place either. He looked back at the duo of saviors "So Rechazo right? and who are you?"

Dusting himself off nervously with a clawed hand he returns it to behind him and straightens his back and returns a nervous smile to his face. Looking around to see if nobody else aside from the crowd caught glimpse of his spinning escapade. He returns his nervous gaze to the crowd and sighs. Oliver straightens his back slightly and sighs. "So… Uh… How are you guys? I’m Oliver by the way..." He finishes his introduction with a sheepishly nervous smile and a light sigh.

Without really waiting for an answer, Jace turned and made his way towards the academy, but he didn't walk particularly quickly. He just wanted to get to somewhere shaded or cool, though he didn't want to be too rude, so he kept looking back and beckoning the others to follow him.

Oliver smiles rather brightly as he looks towards Jace as they head off towards the Academy. “Anyway I hear Bellmuse is a nice place this time of year. Glad to see those people weren’t lying." Oliver sighs as he looks around. Taking in the sights of the surrounding forest. Oliver wound up resting his gaze towards Syne Academy. Right... Syne Academy. “Hope it's not as large as Beacon is. I swear It looked like the people who attended could march an army down from there. But yeah. I come from Vale so. Pretty much anyone who lives there knows about Beacon.” Oliver had the look on his face as If he’d blanked out and started to think out loud. As if the whole world around him was gone and he was the only person there. So it didn’t matter If he spoke aloud.

That was a bit of a pain to wash out of my jacket and my weapon especially.” Oliver smiled slightly. “But anyway. Brutal wouldn’t be a word I’d like to use for it. Savage is something I’d probably use.” Oliver stretched slightly. “Either that or I’d call it precious. But that’s because it’s my weapon. So.” Oliver chuckled slightly. “Anyway. Malevolent Wyvern, all in all, does do a lot of damage to Grimm. I suppose I dragged that on longer than I needed to. Hehehe.” Oliver let out a nervous chuckle near the end of his sentence. Smiling rather sheepishly afterwards.

Oliver follows shortly after. Looking at the vending machine. "Sure. I could go with something to drink..." He looks around and back at the axe on his back. "I never thought about what Wyvern could do to a frozen target. Although I do know what it does when I light the blade on fire with fire dust. It’s gruesome. Limbs are left as bloody and charred messes when it’s done with them. By the way. If you were wondering why I said Malevolent Wyvern does a lot of damage to Grimm. I said that because my weapon's called Malevolent Wyvern." Oliver smiles slightly. “I thought it’s a cool name. When my dad told me to name the weapon I got all excited and started thinking of names that sounded cool in my head. I almost named it Demon Crocodile… Yeah that wasn’t the best decision ever.” Oliver smiled slightly. Rubbing the back of his head as he let out a nervous chuckle. “So uh. Yeah. That’s my weapon in a nutshell.”

Although in spite of this he no longer had his hands behind his back. As such revealing his hands. As one caught glimpse of his hands one would notice his fingers were tipped with decently sharp claws. He reaches one of his clawed hands up and catches the can. "Thanks Jace. Taking a sip from the can he emits a sigh of releif. "Aaah. Nice and cool. This head of hair doesn't help in the heat..."
