Having set up a notice on most of the boards about requesting a team to go into the Finnek Forest in order to hunt some Grimm, Zan waited at the entrance to the nearby forest in order to wait for the people to join him in preparation to join him within the dank and dark forest.

Checking his pistols and ammunition, he had noticed he didn’t have a lot of dust left over from his previous hunt and would have to buy more after this hunt. Zan knew he would probably be reduced to having to use hand to hand combat while fighting due to a lack of Dust.

Sighing the giant of a teenager, waited for others to join him at the wooded entrance to the forest. Checking the time, he saw it was close to the point of time for him and the team going into the forest that he had set up. Leaning against a tree for support, he wondered who would respond to the hunting team request. He rather hoped one of them would be the faunus he had met in History class the day before.

Looking at the academy, he would watch to see if anyone were coming.

This was Lazu's first day at Syne and he wanted to gain some experience so he decided to go on a hunt when he saw one go up on the board. He wondered what the people would be like who were going on the hunt as he drew his sword. He marked the location of the meeting point on his scroll and followed it to his location where he saw a boy leaning against a tree and Lazu's tail behind him followed along with his cat ears twitching. Lazu hated the snow as it made him wet and soggy so he didn't like the forrest too much but he knew he had to put up with it if he wanted to be a hunter at the school.

He hadn't signed up to any classes yet as it was only the first day so he thought a hunt would be a good way to occupy his time.He had hoped they would be fighting a nethermore or death stalker as he had trained for years to fight Grimm and he wanted to see how well he could do in a fight against one. "Hey are we the only ones here yet?" Lazu called over to the teenager who was against the tree.

Gricelda makes her way to the rendezvous point where she was to met the others on the little excursion to the Finnek forest. What better way to pass the day than a little bit of hunting? Consulting with her scroll, Gris makes her way to the two males as she confirms that she is in the right place. As she place her scroll away, she looks to her her companions for this hunting expedition... and was clearly disappointed by the turnout... or rather disappointed with the people who did turn up.

First it was Zan, her classmate in Professor Ivory's History class. Gris still has a poor first impression of him since there initial meeting. The other she did not recognize. He appeared to a faunus like herself but of the feline variety and looked to be... uncomfortable? Well at least he was faunus. Gris then rests her well worn axe on her right sholder as she looks to the two of them.

"Alright, I'm here... can we head out now?" inquires the wolf faunus.

Another day, another hunt. Nothing too special stood out about this one to Kei. Another generic search and destroy type mission with a little reconnaissance on the side. What he didn't understand though was why he was assigned to a hunt with 3 others. 4 people seemed like a bit much for a mission as simple as this.
Well, I probably shouldn't be complaining. Kei decided, The more people on this mission, the easier it will be I guess. Still, I'd much rather be at home then be assigned to some random job just for the heck of it. Needless effort is a waste.

Using a map on his scroll, Kei traveled to the location in Finnek Forest where he was supposed to meet up with his allies for this job. Upon arriving at the snow covered location, Kei saw that he was among the last of the group to arrive. There were two males and a female fauness. He didn't recognize any of them. There didn't seem to be much conversation between each of them as well, either meaning they all were just the type to not talk much or that they didn't know each other as well.

"Quite the party." Kei said sarcastically to everyone, knowing well they were all strangers here, "Anyone happen to bring any food? No? Well that's a shame."

"Listen up, for future reference, my name is Kei, and it really gets on my nerves when people fail to bring food to social gatherings. After all, no one likes a free loader." Kei added casually, despite this not being much of a social gathering in the first place and not actually bringing any food himself in a very hypocritical manner.

Waiting, waiting was boring for the youth known as Zan. Checking his watch again, there were only five minutes left before he would have to either abandon the hunt or just go on the hunt alone, which he did not want to do. Looking at the academy he saw a person coming to the entrance to the clearing. It was a male feline faunus. Nodding at him, when he came close enough to see him, he would greet the feline youth. Upon hearing the question, Zan would nod once more to acknowledge the question and answer the youth.

The next one to arrive was someone that he had hoped would come, it was Gricelda! Grinning a small grin, Zan stopped leaning on the tree standing up his full height. “Yo, and no we’re waiting for one more person before we head out. If they’re not here in three minutes, than we can move out,” he says while not bringing up their first meeting. He knew he got really annoyed and acted like a huge douche, and he would apologize for it when they’re not going into a highly dangerous situation.

He would just have to apologize another time since he saw the last of their little hunting team coming towards the three team members already there. When the man arrived and introduced himself, he assumed they were going to have a party. Zan resisted the urge to facepalm. “I am Zan Drack, my primary form of combat is using two pistols to shoot dust bullets at the enemy. I’ll be in back and support,” he says before nodding at them in order to tell the others who they were, and what they specialized in so they could find a good strategy to bring down some Grimm. Secretly, he was glad that Gricelda were here so she would have to introduce herself to the party so he could possibly forge a relationship of friendship with her.

Lazu noticed the one who nodded at him and told him his type of weapons seemed to not want to talk to people and to keep things brief which was fine by him but still he nodded at zan's comment  "im pretty sure there is going to be no food here" said Lazu who smiled at the sarcastic comment made by the one known as Kei.

He watched as the other female faunus who was of a wolf kind turned up. he realised everyone was pretty impatient to get the show on the road especially the girl who seemed to look like she regretted coming. Lazu pulled out his sword "so where is the creature im ready to fight some Grimm." His ears twitched as the snow fell on it and he hissed under his breath quietly as it melted against his body and turned into water and his tail was lashing fast but he tried to keep it cool.

He hoped that he could do well against a Grimm seeing as he had never fought one and still be able to help his team mates and show them he has what it takes to be a hunter. He still had his kick boxing skills if need be.

Gricelda Mee

Gricelda Mee
Gricelda rolls her eyes at as Lazu... who was either eager to fight some Grimm or clueless as to how these hunts are suppose work.  She lets out a small quip in response.

"Out in the forest... where we should be heading out to."

Gricelda then looks to the three other hunters, giving each of them a long wary look before finally making her own introduction.

"Gricelda, Gricelda Mee.  I also respond to Gris as well.  I prefer to be... direct when it comes to combat.  Hit hard and avoid getting hit in return.  With that out of the way, I'm just going to start to heading into the forest filled with Grimm."

With that, Gricelda begins her stroll in the woods, assuming that the others will easily catch up with since she wasn't walking all that fast.  Her faunus ears fold back as far as they could on the top of her head, still listening to what the others have to say as she continues down her path into the Finnek Forest.

"I can see that." Kei bluntly told Lazu when he commented there would be no food.

Kei crossed his arms. Lazu was a bit too eager for his taste. Kei didn't really like it when people got overexcited.

Kei nodded in agreement to what Gricelda told Lazu.
"We should be heading there," Kei added nonchalantly in a very lazy manner, "But it doesn't necessarily mean we have to. Besides, I can see the forest just fine from here. Doesn't look like there are any Grimms from what I can tell. Well guys. Good job, successful mission."

Kei was purposefully making it seem like he didn't want to be here on a hunt, because that was how he was feeling right now.

"Well in the event we do happen to encounter some kind of Grimm," Kei added as both Zan and Gricelda brought up how they like to fight, "I suppose I could share how I like to fight. Me? I excel at moral support. Like cheering off in the sidelines and getting everyone hopes up and what not. Kinda like a cheerleader, just not as girly and less yelling and dancing."

Deathstalker
HP: 140/140
Status: Undamaged

Red eyes and snapping claws were enveloped in a sea of fine red mist - blood from its most recent kill. A mutilated corpse lay limp on the ground, giant gashes running through the length of it. A river poured out from those wounds. Sinew, flesh and bone were ripped apart and torn to shreds. An unfortunate brown bear had picked a wrong fight. A territorial dispute gone wrong had left it dead and desolate.

The Deathstalker sensed more pests running about. Vermin. Carrying over its rage and bloodlust from the previous fight, its many red eyes gleamed wondrous murder. Its stinger swayed slowly left and right, looking very much like a ticking pendulum of death. Bear blood dripped from its stingers to sully the ground it trampled over, once soft green now stained a very different shade.

All felt quiet in the forest. The world itself seemed to be holding its breath. There was no more a howling wind, nor a pleasant air to breathe. It felt thick, heavy. Ominous. The bushes by Gricelda's side softly rustled. Without any further warning, the Deathstalker burst out with a flurry of attacks. Sturdy pincers tried to slice the hunters and huntresses in half, as quick jabs by its tail kept them on their toes. Its attacks were focused primarily on the prey closest to it - the axe-wielding faunus, though some of them were directed towards those around her.

Battle Log:

Zan Drack

Zan Drack
Unbuttoning his blazer, he would unsheathe his two handguns. He knew how much dust he had in both of them, he had only two shots of dust each within them. He needed more dust, and he needed it at that moment otherwise he would be forced into close combat when Zan had no experience with it. Not telling his comrades about his lack of adequate ammunition. He however knew they would be able to handle themselves in any situation, though he had wished he would’ve gotten more dust earlier that day in order to compensate for his lack of the energy propellent.

Behind, Celda he would watch a rather powerful Deathstalker burst out of the forest. Already on the move, Zan would backpedal away from the beast while looking for a good spot in which he could fire upon the beast without worry of hitting his comrades in the process. He was already wrapping his aura around the bullets he had within the chamber while altering them in order to place a hex upon the beast. Something entered his peripheral vision, jumping back he would aim at the object. However, he was not fast enough to dodge the object, and it would hit him in the left arm. Hissing out in pain, Zan would grit his teeth before aiming his right pistol at the retreating tail. He would fire one bullet at the stinger, intending on placing a hex on it.

"so basically you don't want to fight" Crimson said to Kei with his cheer leader comment. He watched as the Death stalker came down out of no where he drew his sword and he pointed it forward and flew on the ground with speed and snow came flying up out of the ground and into his hair. Doing this he was able to avoid the speed charge by the death stalker.

He ran around the death stalker in circles looking like a blur of light and then he ran straight towards the  beasts eye and stabbed straight into it. Then he did a combat roll back into position and he used his speed and he ran up the beast and jumped of soaring into the air and as he flew down he pointed and stabbed the creature in the head.

He noticed Zan firing his pistol at the beast and saw a different type of bullet hit it but didn't know what it was but he couldn't worry about that now. He hissed at the creature
as he landed in front of his face then he shot at speed and pointed his sword straight into its face.

With a twitch of her ear queuing her to danger, Gris instinctively readies her weapon and raises her shield.  The danger in the form of a giant scorpion was not the sort of danger she was preparing to fight.  As the creature lurches at her with its terrible claws,  Gris makes the snap decision to try to avoid attack.  As her semblance activates, she pulls herself upwards to avoid the first incoming claw but was caught mid-air by the second one that nabs her out of the sky.

"Yiipes!" yeps the wolf faunus as she is now held in its claw by her torso.  She could feel the Deathstalker's grip squeezing her gut and... and... AND WAS THAT A RIB!?  BY HER SWEET MOTHER WAS THAT POPPING NOISE A RIB!?

"Ghaaa .... grrrr... YOU MISERABLE *coughs*  ughh... INSECT!" screamed the faunus as she raises her axe in her still free right arm.

"Hurra-aahhhhg!!" she roars as brings down the ax head with full force on the part of the Deathstalker where the pincers join together, hoping to get the monster to release its grip on her before it could manage to cut her in half.

Gris growls once more, striking the same spot with other two heavy ax blows as she struggles to to escape.

"Exactly," Kei bluntly told Lazu.

Kei's head jolted to the right as the Deathstalker suddenly made its appearance, and took a defensive stance, analyzing the Deathstalker and its approach. Not being the sole focus of the Grimm coupled with its very loud appearance, Kei had plenty of time to avoid the Deathstalker's claw. Reaching down to his belt, Kei grabbed the weighted of a coil of wire and threw it at a sturdy tree branch. The wire wrapped securely around it and when it did, the retraction system which connected the wire coil in the belt began to retract, pulling Kei up to the sturdy branch. Right before Kei reached the branch, Kei flipped his body around, so that he landed feet first against the bottom of the tree branch. As he did, the wire came loose around the branch, fully retracting back into his. Before gravity would cause Kei to fall back to the ground, Kei pushed off of the bottom of the tree branch with his feet, launching himself at the top of the Deathstalker.

Flying at the Deathstalker, Kei released the left mini-harpoon from its launcher into his left hand, holding it like a makeshift dagger. As he did, Kei began to generate electricity from his hand into the mini-harpoon causing wicked blue sparks to dance across the metal spike, further increasing its damage. Using his momentum, Kei heavily brought the mini-harpoon down onto the back of the Deathstalker and sent a huge jolt of electricity through it.

For a second it felt victorious, having grabbed the axe-girl by her waist. It had even managed to jab one of them with its tail, not to mention dodging the bullet that was aimed at it! Still, in the end, it's laughable how tables so quickly turn. A blade slashed through its eyes, marking the start of a cruel assault. The Deathstalker roared in pain, recoiling back and wildly trashing its claws. Managing to block the two following strikes of the male cat through pure luck, the pest it held in its claw proved soon to be more trouble than she was worth. It was hit two times by the downswing of her axe before finally having had enough, throwing the cat with heavy force towards the pistol-wielding Zan.

Frantic and desperate, the heavily wounded Deathstalker managed to only barely catch sight of Kei. Raising its claws in defense, the dagger didn't manage to pierce all the way through armor to reach flesh. Despite this, how dig the blade dug provided a good enough passage for electricity to flow through, shocking the poor beast.

Trashing around wildly, trying to fling Kei off from its back, it made it its goal to destroy and kill everything around it. It's heavy claws knocked down trunks, fueled and half-blinded by a volcanic sense of anger. The Deathstalker was also literally half-blind, having had some of its eyes ripped and shredded. Perhaps through combining these two together, one could say that the poor scorpion was basically 100% blind? That might explain the total sum of zero rational thought going through its mind right now, at least. Kill. Destroy. Annihilate. Obliterate. These were all that were echoing within.

Zan cursed as his bullet was wasted! He didn’t have enough ammo to waste by rapidly firing them at the creature. He watched as Celda, whack the Grimm with her axe before being thrown at him. Sheathing his pistols, Zan would brace himself and attempt to catch the woman instead of dodging her like most people would do. He knew he’d be strong enough to at least catch her, instead of being blown over by her like some weakling.

Upon contact with the wolf faunus, Zan would brace his legs to have most of the energy from the impact go down and through the legs into the ground below. Watching the Deathstalker basically go on a rampage destroying the forest around them, Zan without thinking jumped back away from the beast with Celda still within his arms, not thinking that this might embarrass her further. After a bit, he still hadn’t put her down as if he forgot he was holding her.

Lazu watched as Gricelda was trapped in the beasts claws and realised she was stuck he used his speed semblance and ran to the death stalker then he realised the beast had thrown her he shot back to the creature and he shot at it and ran up and over its back and sliced towards the back of the beast then he jumped over it doing a moonsault flip and as he was facing the beast in the air while holding his sword he pointed downwards and spin directly into the beasts top body part then as he jumped off he slashed at the open part of its side of the stomach for good measure.

Gris grits her teeth as the oversized bug still has it released its hold on her, its pincers to constricting her torso.  She readies for another strike at the joint where pincer and claw meet when the giant grimm violently hurled her in the direction of her human compatriot Zan.  Gris was rather helpless as she was thrown, too disoriented as she spins about in the air and too distracted on her left side of her torso to make any attempt of recovery.  Instead she crashes into Zan, was was built like a freaking brick wall!  Unfortunately it was her already injured left side the too the brunt of the kinetic impact.

"AHHhhaaa!  Hrrgg-grrr-hrrmmm... you... CRUSTY, MOLD RIDDEN, WART FESTERING HARLOT-SPAWN!!" screams the the wolf faunus, apparently directing her words of fury at the Deathstalker before wincing from pain.  It was then Gris realized that she was being cradled by Zan.  She stares at the boy holding her, a little dazed and blushing lightly as she stares at him for... a second or two? The moment of calm doesn't last.  Once Gris finally comprehended the situation she was she pushed herself out of his arms and erupts into a bout of anger now directed to Zan.

"Uhhgh!  Get off me!  I was FINE." she barks, falling to the ground with a thud and a grunt.  She mummers expletives of some sort.

"Arrh... *mummer*... errgh... next time just let me hit the ground you dolt of human!  Your fricking abs of steel only made things worse." growls the faunus, clutching her left side.  She is obviously hurt.

Rather than do the sensible thing and sit out the rest of this fight, Gris goes right back into the thick of battle.  She fights through the pain as she rushes at flailing Grim.  As a claw swinging wildly comes down, Gris activates her semblance to jerk herself to her right, followed by another gust of wind to leap into the air as the stinger nearly swipes at her.  As she leaps through the air, she grips onto hatchet, does a somersault in the air, and then comes striking down on the breast's already injured face.  She seemed intent to be the one who finishes this bug.

Kei lost his footing as the Deathstalker began to violently shake. In the midst of the shaking, Kei was struck by the base of the Deathstalkers tail, and was knocked off of its back. The strike wasn't too hard and his trench coat managed to protect him from much of the blow. Kei fell into the snow on his back next to where Zan made an attempt to catch Gricelda.

"Flirting in the middle of a battle?" Kei said casually to Zan and Gricelda as he got back onto his feet, "I don't know if I would consider that daring or desperate."

Kei watched as Lazu exploited his speed to quickly maneuver around the Deathstalker. Though Kei didn't necessarily have superhuman speed, years of combat made him fast for a normal human.

Following in Lazu's trail, directly charging at the monster. Knowing full well he can't rely entirely on his speed to dodge like Lazu, Kei leaned back as he got within the Deathtstalker's attack range, sliding to make himself a harder to hit target. Last minute, right as Kei reached the face of the Deathstalker, Kei dug his foot into the ground, forcing himself back onto his feet, and stabbed at one the eyes of the Deathstalker with the mini-harpoon in his left hand. As he did, Kei sent electricity through his hand into the metallic pole, into the flesh of the Deathstalker.

Deathstalker
HP: -20/140
Status: Dead.

Watching in terror as the male-cat dashed around as quick as a bolt, it managed to block (half through luck, half through skill) the cat's initial attack. After that he quickly disappeared out of the Deathstalker's view, up into the air above it. While the plates of bone armour on its back prevented the spiral sword attack from dealing any more damage than simply a long scratch, the beast hadn't managed to block or evade the cat's slash to its stomach.

Swiping angrily at where the cat stood as it made that last attack, the Deathstalker's flame had only seconds more to pitifully flick. It sensed the ominous presence of a pissed off entity, turning to meet eyes with the pest it had only moments ago thrown away. A cold shiver ran through it as the Deathstalker tried to scurry back, raising its right claw in defense. Already weakened from before, the axe chopped right through it and into the beast's skull, the other half of the claw falling to the ground with a heavy thud.

After that, all was quiet in the battlefield. A stark contrast to the chaos of before, it seemed now the world could finally catch its breath. If Gricelda's attack hadn't brutally connected, Kei's would have surely sealed the deal. Regardless of who dealt the final blow, glory had gone to the group of four. The beast's carcass laid solemnly on the ground, a visual token of their achievements for but a brief moment before it disappeared, leaving behind only the scars on the land as a reminder of their battle. Toppled trunks, smashed boulders, gashes in the soil and a few weary individuals were the legacy that this Deathstalker left behind.

"Well," Kei said as the remains of the Deathstalker began to disperse in a cloud of black ashes, "That was easy enough. Definitely a job that didn't require the effort of all of us."

Kei began to stretch his right arm as was his usual habit he had after a battle. Suddenly, his scroll started ringing, notifying him that it had received some kind of message. Curious to what that was about, Kei pulled out his scroll. The message mentioned that there was a Grimm attack in Bellmuse area, and available students and hunters were to return to the city. It seemed pretty bad.

"Looks like we'll need to head back." Kei told the rest of the group urgently as he sent a message calling for an airship to come pick them up at their current location. Within no time, a fairly small drop ship had arrived at their position, ready to pick the group up.
