Lloyd Vanheim

Lloyd Vanheim
Lloyd was outside walking around the courtyard along the outer wall. It was still pretty early in the morning as he couldn't sleep more since he was woken up by a strange feeling this morning. He shrugged it thinking it was is imagination that was messing with him so he went for a small walk to change his minds.

Lloyd was thinking about the people he had met here at Syne. A lot of wonderful people with each one of them having something to say. Sure he hasn't been long since he was here but he wasn't new either by now. He was glad to have chosen Syne over Beacon. He thought about some students, in particular those he had seen more often than the others like Flash and Sno with whom he had share both a class and a rough first meeting. But Lloyd stopped walking as he thought about that fox faunus he had met along the same event than the two androids. "Quartzella......... that's a pretty name..." He wondered for a moment why he was now thinking about her, more specifically her as when he thought about either Flash or Sno, he thought about the class or what happened with them in general. But with Ella...

Lloyd snapped out of his daydreaming as something caught his attention coming from the outer wall. It seemed like something was moving further ahead but he couldn't see clearly as it was still pretty dark with the sun not yet reaching above the wall. "It can't be a student, right? Everyone should be asleep right now, even me... Am I talking to myself again?..." He shook his head before talking toward the weird shadow that was ahead, readying his weapon and armor, just in case.

Beowulf

Beowulf
One Level Medium Beowulf HP:115

The Beowulf crept around the hunter's territory. In a few hours time this place would be full of them, showing off their fancy shared ground. This Beowulf's pack had been beaten by hunters, narrowly avoiding death at the cost of it's land. The beast had observed a few young humans and faunus wondering in the early light, if he could just make an example of one of them perhaps the others would leave. Then he could lead what remained of the pack, attack all the hunters.

Red eyes glinted from the dark wall, he'd caught sight of one. The first of this morning's light behind it. Crouching onto all fours it rushed the boy giddily, pouncing straight at him with both sets of claws extended. The claws slashed for the boys chest, the beast wanting to play a little. It pounced with a loud snarl, not particularly caring that the hunter knew he was coming. It was merely bad luck that the hunter had shown his face in the Beowulf's new territory.

The fighting starts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFLh4CW-mg8

As the shadow manifests itself to be a Grimm, Lloyd was surprise to see a Grimm in the school vicinity, but not enough to be taken by surprise. It was his first fight against a Grimm and he wouldn't let the chance go away. Lloyd had the advantage as the beowolf charged and pounced towards him, probably leaving him in the incapacity to dodge. Lloyd back-stepped at the last second while thrusting Gae Bulg toward the Grimm, aiming for it's head as the position it was during the pounce didn't leave a lot to aim at for an efficient blow.

If the hit was to land, the lance would extend to push the beowolf back. Lloyd would then activate his semblance and repel the Grimm upward as it would touch the ground.

The Beowulf squealed as it was knocked back, landing with it's back to the fountain, slightly grazed. With a loud snarl the beast readied it's claws, realising this would be harder than it had expected. The white segment of it's head had been scratched by the hunter's attack but it still had every intention of killing this one, it had to be quick more of them may arrive at any moment.

It pushed off the fountain, over-exaggerating an obvious strike from it's right claw. While it wasn't the smartest type of grimm this Beowulf still had it's cunning. Hoping the obvious move would tempt it's opponent into reacting. The claw would swipe inches from the boys nose just as a kick from it's right leg would sweep around and attempt to kick him in the back. Even if the boy did whatever he had before and tried to push the Beowulf away the knockback should bring it's foot around and into him, perhaps harder than it would have otherwise.

Lloyd smiled when the forward thrust made its mark, but groaned as his repel didn't worked. "Dammit, I was sure I would get you that way, freak. Come on, bring it on! As the beowolf went for another obvious charge attack, Lloyd slowly walked before sprinting towards it. As simple dodge like he already did wouldn't work twice so he switch his method as he would slide on the ground under the grimm to dodge before thrusting upward, wanting to send it flying one way or another. He would then stand, being on the opposite side as he would send himself flying toward where the beowolf she be in the air if he successfully launched it in the air. He would then wait for an opportunity to strike from there wishing he could send it crashing straight to the ground. He would taught the grimm if it was in the air. "Hey, didn't know that beowolves could fly, is that a new feature you have now?"

Beowulf

Beowulf
One Level Medium Beowulf HP:65

The Beowulf was surprised to find it's attack hadn't worked, the boy having slid beneath. The boy attacked, sticking the beast through the chin. It growled in pain at the puncture hole, letting out a terrifying roar it's head was fortunately tilted allowing the lance's point to slip out, knocking out none of it's fangs on the way as apposed to rupturing further up into it's head. However it fought through the pain the Beowulf swinging it's leg around from it's intended assault and aiming it lower, aiming a kick for the back of his head with it's powerful leg. With it's claws the lumbering beast grasped onto the lance, just below where it's jaw had been caught in an effort not only to pull it from its mouth but prevent another attack and ready a second of it's own. Taking advantage of the long pole itself the Grimm used it's other leg, hoping in an attempt to stomp right in the center of the boy's chest. This two pronged assault would be difficult to avoid, especially with the boy's lance within the beast's own grasp.

Lloyd was disappointing once more as his plan didn't go along as the grimm didn't go as high because of the slight tilt he had. Well, it wouldn't be fun if everything was going according to plan, would it? The fight felt awesome for Lloyd as he was in for real and against a beowolf. Even though he the plan had to be reworked, at least he had land another blow on it while the grimm, not yet...

As Lloyd looked carefully, he saw that the grimm got hold of his lance right before getting hit by his kick. Lloyd used the momentum of the kick to roll above the beowolf as he retracts his weapon, leaving the clutch the grimm had, before unfolding it during an upward swing aiming at its ribcage.

Lloyd would then back out for a sec, preparing for the beast's next assault. He would taunt it with some gesture "Come on, you can't be worse than that, just attack already" Lloyd thought by taunting it would force it to do something stupid, like another leap attack.

The Beowulf was content that it's kick had struck, snarling in enjoyment. As the boy rolled out from beneath it the beast lurched back, immediately releasing as the boy's weapon began to shrink. As the weapon regrew and a slash came down the Beowulf only just managed to dodge, the boys weapon very nearly slicing it's chest. The beast backed off slightly with a growl, not wanting to risk further injury. The best slid past his weapon, a claw raised. It swiped across from right to left; straight for the boy's eyes, going with the logic that if he was blind he wouldn't be nearly as good a fighter.

The beast was getting desperate, with every attack the sun climbed higher in the sky and more hunters would arrive. It was having trouble with this one let alone five or six more let alone one of the more adult ones. The beast bared it's fangs, if it couldn't beat the boy it would at least try to scare it off so as to save it's own hide.

Lloyd groaned once more as his attack missed once again. He was starting to get pissed off by the attitude of that Grimm. And he was the one trying to taunt it first. Well, plans never work like they should he guessed. He smiled to the taunt that he was being taunt by this beast. He thought it was fun and would have fought longer and yet, he wanted the fight to end quickly now, so he decided that it was his turn to go on a head on assault. He didn't want other students to spoil his fun by helping him.

As the beowulf, went to claw his face, Lloyd decided to Repel the attack, sending back the energy toward the Grimm. Since the energy would go backward normally, Lloyd planed to crouch and go for an upward thrust while it would be staggered, aiming for where a heart would be, if this beast had one. He would then stand up and prepare for the beowulf final assault, if there was any.

Beowulf

Beowulf
One Level Medium Beowulf HP:40

The Beowulf had made a mistake, as its slash was repelled by the boy it spun. With it's back to the boy it stood no chance of defending nor dodging. The Beowulf was impaled straight through the center of its chest. The beast cried out in anguish, immediately running forward and off the spike. It spun back around, a fire in its eyes. It no longer cared for the territory, nor if any more students would arrive. The beast wanted to kill the boy and nothing more.

There was a hole straight though its chest now as well as the one through it's jaw. Safe to say the beast was mad. It let out a ferocious roar before running straight at the boy only to use a technique he had used. The Beowulf dropped and slid, claws in the air, planning to slice the boy's legs. It had also lowered it's head in an attempt to headbut the boy on the way past.

Lloyd made one step back as the beast unleashed it's roar, preparing for once again a reckless assault. To his surprise, the beowulf copied what he had done earlier with his slide attack. He didn't know if he had to be proud or scared right now. He was proud that his technique was good enough to be recognize and used, even by a Grimm, but scared as he just witnessed that Grimms can learn from their fights and assimilate others techniques.

Since he was caught off guard by his own attack, Lloyd was hit at the leg but was able to repel himself up on his back leg. From his vantage point, he decided to throw his lance down at the beast, taking its actual lay down position as a chance to strike it. Lloyd aimed for right above the hole in the chest, hoping to pin down the beast to the ground.

The beast growled happily as it's sliding technique hit, caring little that one of it's few successful hits had been mirroring the hunter's. It hissed as the boy seemed to launch into the air, attempting to scrabble to it's own feet only to be impaled again; this time through the right arm.

The beast bellowed out it's loudest roar yet, feeling it's life was approaching it's end... but it wouldn't give up yet. Snarling loudly it slid up the weapon until it was standing. If the boy wanted the weapon he would have to get close, then the Beowulf would be able to dispose of this pest and lick it's wounds clean with pride. The beast bared it's teeth, hissing at the boy with it's right hand raised. It found it couldn't use it's left due to the impairment but that mattered little, he was taller and the boy and sure he could take him one handed. It's red eyes bore into the boy's own.

Lloyd was glad that his throw hit his target, but he had wish it would have hit its mark by lodging itself somewhere near the neck, but Lloyd wasn't a great thrower. He also wished the beast would have stayed on the ground, impaled, but again, nothing goes according to plan. Now, Lloyd was in midair, without his weapon and probably unable to dodge any attack that would come to him. At least, the beast wasn't attacking just yet, it was only glaring at him. Lloyd reached the ground, unharmed, but was still without his lance. He had to get it back in order to finish the beowulf. Bare-handed, Lloyd wouldn't do good...

The Grimm was standing between him and his lance, so in order to get it, Lloyd had to be fast and precise. He decided to take a run for it. He sprinted toward the Grimm, sliding once again but this time repelling himself to slide further and faster to get under the beast as fast as possible. If the Grimm was to attack him, it would probably hit him, but he had to take a chance to get behind it.

Hoping not to be stopped, he would afterward stand on his feet and grab his weapon and strikes the beowulf once again with a full extended thrust.

The beast was aching, hardly able to even stand by this point. It's body had been ruptured in so many places, between the growls and hisses it was panting for breath. It scanned for a way out but doubted it could outpace the boy due to not only it's injuries but the hindrance of the weapon sticking through it.

He saw the boy slide in and prepared to counter, swinging it's leg in an attempt to kick his nose in. Unfortunately he hadn't accounted for the boy's sudden speed boost, it would seem the beast's heel would merely whack off the boy's forehead and probably wouldn't even stop him entirely what with his momentum. The Beowulf hissed in frustration, immediately grabbing the boy's weapon with it's right hand. If it could keep it stuck in the ground the hunter would be helpless. Unfortunately doing so had left the beast completely exposed, he would not be able to counter the most simple of assaults now, especially an attack near it's pinned left arm.

As Lloyd slid under the beast, his head got hit. Not enough to be felt during those last moment of a fight, but still, without his aura, it would have left an impressive scar on his forehead. As he stood up, Lloyd saw that the Grimm was clinging to his weapon in order to prevent him from using it. Lloyd pouted in the direction of the beowulf. "Dammit, could you at least help me finish you off? All you've been doing was to get in my way to kill you quickly and painless... See what you get?" He knew that talking to it wasn't really useful, but ranting a little made him feel a little better. It's not like it was going to answer him, right?...

Since Lloyd's weapon was stuck in the beowulf, he had to finish it some other way. A strong and decisive blow that would end this fight. Lloyd was at a good distance for something, so he tried. He repelled himself once again toward the grimm to get momentum, but this time while jumping, so Lloyd could deliver a powerful dropkick aiming directly at the head of the beast, hoping it would be the coup-de-grace.

The Beowulf cackled a growly cackle at the boy's shouting. It would seem he didn't want to fight without his weapon. The beast was glad, thinking it would perhaps have a chance to get off free. But alas, this was not the case.

Suddenly the boy's dropkick knocked the beast, tearing it's arm clean off as it was forcibly removed from the weapon. The beast collapsed with a thud, it could feel it's life beginning to drain away with no hope of recovering it. The beast couldn't even deal a final blow to the boy, go out with pride. The beast let out a groan as it began to dissipate turning to black dust that spiralled into the air, it's arm went first. It glared at the boy throughout the entire dissipation, seething with anger until nothing remained. The Beowulf had been defeated, lost both it's chance at territory and it's life.

Hurray for the Grimm's demise https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYSqShzU70c

Lloyd watched as the grimm fell, arm ripped by the blow of the dropkick with his weapon stuck in it. As the beowulf was slowly vaporizing, Lloyd couldn't feel anything from killing such a beast. Yes, he could have felt proud for his victory, but no. The glare that this beast gave him wasn't simply the one of a monster seeking blood, it seemed to radiate with a more genuine hate towards him. It was like that Grimm had, in some way feelings... Could it be possible that the Grimms are just mindless beasts, or there's something we don't know about them yet...

As the beowulf completely vanishes, Lloyd picked Gae Bulg back and shifted his coat back to its standard form before walking away."Alright, what was I thinking about before that beast came out? Oh yeah, "her"..." Lloyd returned to his peaceful thinking while the sun barely made it up the outer wall.
